Shirley looked at Victor with an incredulous look, "Victor! You want me to apologise to him? She's the one who did that to me on purpose! Can't you see her plot to bring me down?!" Shirley roared in anger when she heard how Victor told her to apologise to Thalia.
"I have no hidden intentions towards you, Lady Shirley. I had no idea I would offend you like this." Thalia said in a low and soft voice, not forgetting to show off her glassy eyes to attract the sympathy of Victor and the other nobles who had been watching them.
Victor gritted his teeth firmly, then pulled Shirley's arm forcefully, "I don't want to know, you have to apologise to Thalia! She was kind enough to still talk to you, but this is your reply?" Victor glared angrily at Shirley, then dragged her before Thalia to apologise.
Victor was seen violently throwing Shirley's arm that he was holding and demanding Shirley to apologise immediately to Thalia who made a shocked face when she saw what Victor had done to her.
With her face down Shirley could be heard snorting dismissively, behind her hair-covered face a smirk was beautifully etched on her face, "So this is what you want. I'll do it," Shirley replied as she looked up to give Thalia a sharp look.
Hearing that, some people began to get disappointed because they did not expect Shirley to relent and lower her pride to apologise to Thalia, whom she hated so deeply.
Victor also seemed calmer when he heard that Shirley had finally listened to what he had said, so he just watched from the side waiting for Shirley to apologise to Thalia.
However, without anyone expecting it, Shirley grabbed Thalia's hair and pulled hard, "Don't get too happy, Thalia! I wouldn't apologise to a bitch like you who can only steal someone else's fiancé!" Capitalising on everyone's shock, Shirley did not remove her hand from Thalia's hair and continued to pull hard.
Instantly, Thalia's voice could be heard screaming in pain as she tried to stop what Shirley was doing to her. Thalia had not expected that Shirley would hurt her so blatantly in front of Victor, she thought she would actually receive a precious apology from Shirley today and humiliate her.
People started to get excited when they saw the fight between Shirley and Thalia, but not a single person among them tried to break up the two of them, all they did was whisper happily and prepare to spread the news.
Unable to remain silent, Victor finally intervened and delivered a slap to Shirley's smooth cheek.
Everyone immediately covered their mouths when they heard the sound of the slap, even Thalia who was screaming immediately fell silent in fear. In fact, Shirley herself was speechless, she immediately felt a stinging pain on her cheek.
In fact, Shirley's face was blown away because of the force of the slap. If she could not defend herself, she was sure she would have fallen on the floor by now.
"How dare you humiliate my fiancée in front of everyone! Get your hands off me right now!" Victor roared in anger and ordered Shirley to release her hold on Thalia's hair.
Shirley sighed tiredly, even Victor didn't care one bit about her getting hurt from his slap, all he cared about right now was Thalia. Not wanting to look weak in front of that bastard Shirley looked up and smoothed her hair with one hand, then threw a sad look at Victor.
"Do you hate me so much that all you care about is this bitch? I hope someday you'll regret doing all this humiliation to me, Victor." Shirley flashed her gaze at Thalia, who remained silent.
"See what happens to you later." Shirley knocked Thalia's head out of her hands, causing her to hit the floor hard, and then she turned to leave the banquet.
It happened so quickly that not many people could react to what had happened before. After realising that there was no benefit in them remaining around Victor and Thalia at this time, the nobles began to busy themselves with their own affairs.
. . .
By the next morning, news of the commotion that Shirley had caused had already spread throughout the kingdom. Shirley, who was the main perpetrator of the ruckus, still had to compress her reddened cheeks, and even the corner of her lip was torn from Victor's slap last night.
"Miss, are you sure you want to go home now?" Ivy looked at Shirley doubtfully, she couldn't bear to look at Shirley's still reddish cheeks.
"Wouldn't it be better if I went home. I'm sure I can't stay here, besides I have to take care of Noah's problem," Shirley replied, shrugging her shoulders indifferently, she had no intention of staying there.
Besides, last night because of her spectacular performance she was rewarded with a Point by System and now she was free from System's confinement. Shirley could now do whatever she wanted and did not need to act like the real Shirley.
Shirley did intend to let Noah go, but it seemed like she had to talk to him about the poison in his body. It would be best if Shirley could get Noah to become her ally.
Of course Shirley didn't mind working with a handsome man like Noah and now was her chance to act, given that neither Thalia nor Victor had done anything about her kidnapping Noah.
"Ivy, go prepare the carriage. We're leaving this evening!" Shirley sent Ivy off excitedly, she couldn't wait to go and see how Noah was doing, she hoped he was much better than before.
Unable to refuse Shirley's request, Ivy was forced to leave to prepare for their return to Fairshore City which was Marquis Estelle's territory.
. . .
Shirley suspected that if she went straight back to her home, then she would become an easy target for her stepmother. Given that Shirley did not have the energy to fight with her stepmother, she decided to stop by Noah's lodge first.
It took a full day for Shirley to get there from Wasteland City. What surprised Shirley even more was when she discovered that Joseph was still there to monitor Noah's condition.
"Why are you still here?" Shirley raised her eyebrows in confusion when she saw Joseph sitting casually with Noah while enjoying a cup of tea.
Joseph only glanced at Shirley out of the corner of his eye, "Looks like you're causing trouble again, Shirley."
"Wouldn't it be strange if I didn't make trouble," Shirley replied with a lazy roll of her eyes, then she joined them and ordered the maid to prepare the same tea for her.
Not intending to chat with her annoying brother, Shirley turned to Noah, "So, how are you doing now?" asked Shirley while watching Noah from head to toe.
Noah, who was uncomfortable being watched with such intensity, cleared his throat softly, "Can you not look at me like that," he said uncomfortably.
"My beloved sister, you can't stare at a gentleman like that," Joseph chuckled.
A sigh could be heard from Shirley, it seemed like she had to exert extra effort to get Joseph out of here.
