Shirley brought herself back to sit on the chair while calming herself down, then tapped lightly on the table to attract the attention of Noah who seemed distracted by her previous actions.
"One thing I wanted to ask you. Do you intend to get revenge at them?" Shirley asked seriously.
Noah frowned, not expecting Shirley to ask him such a question, "What do you mean? Are you going to help me if I say yes?" Noah looked at Shirley sceptically.
However, a smirk appeared on Shirley's charming lips, "Sure, I already have an idea of how I'll use you later. What do you think?" Shirley excitedly made her offer to Noah.
This time it was Noah who was shocked not to think that Shirley was actually thinking of helping him. And Noah realised that Shirley had not concealed her intention to use him for her own benefit.
"I don't know whether to laugh or be angry right now." Noah couldn't help but chuckle, this Shirley in front of him was so unpredictable. "But, even so, I will listen to your offer first," Noah continued, letting Shirley say her plan.
As the grin on Shirley's face grew wider, she said, "I'll help you do whatever you want to do with Janice's family. But, in return, be my fiance!"
Noah, who was sipping his tea, immediately choked when he heard the offer Shirley made to him. After coughing a few times, Noah was finally able to calm himself down from the surprise attack that Shirley gave him.
"You're not joking, are you?" Noah said impatiently, even his eyes seemed to be glaring at Shirley at the moment.
In response Shirley waved her hand lightly, "Do I look like a joke to you? You know that my goal is to get back at that bitch Thalia, you just think about how your family will react when they see you in my hands," Shirley explained, unconsciously the corners of her lips lifting into a sly smile.
If you think about it, what Shirley said actually made sense to Noah, he was sure that his family would be angry when they found out about this and they wouldn't be at ease knowing that Shirley could be prying information from him.
"I heard you intend to become a battlemage, in addition I will help you with it." Shirley, who saw that Noah was still confused and hesitant, decided to take out another card.
Noah's face looked pale when he heard Shirley say about his dream of becoming a battlemage, he nervously rubbed his elbow, then looked at Shirley with unfocused eyes. "I'll think about it first, for now can you leave me alone?" Noah said softly.
Shirley's eyebrows rose in confusion, but she just shrugged her shoulders indifferently because she saw that Noah needed to think about his offer before giving her an answer.
"Alright then, I'll give you three days to think about my offer." After saying that, Shirley got up from her position and left Noah alone in the room.
Outside the room, Shirley was immediately greeted with a sharp gaze that Joseph shot at her, "As promised, I didn't do anything to him," Shirley said not forgetting to roll her eyes when she saw Joseph still following her.
"Yes, you didn't do anything to him, but I'm sure you said something suspicious to him." Joseph was well acquainted with how cunning Shirley was, so he surmised that Shirley must have a cunning plan this time.
Shirley paid no heed to what Joseph was trying to tell her, she was busy thinking about how to become a battlemage, if Noah accepted her offer she had to think of a way to help Noah become a battlemage.
"Hey, big brother. There's something I want to ask you," said Shirley, suddenly turning her head to look at Joseph who was walking beside her.
"What is it?" Joseph frowned warily, not expecting Shirley to ask him something.
"Do you know how to become a battlemage?" asked Shirley as she tilted her head curiously.
Joseph's eyes went blank when he heard Shirley's question, in the 18 years of his sister's life she had never asked him about magic power or anything about becoming a knight, given that for some reason Shirley did not have their family's magic power.
Joseph immediately grabbed both of Shirley's shoulders firmly, "Did he make fun of you? If so, I will beat him up for you." Joseph knew that Shirley had always been sensitive about this fact, so he would not hesitate to teach Noah a lesson if he had indeed mocked his sister.
Shirley immediately swatted Joseph's hand away from her shoulder in annoyance, "Gosh, if he did, then I'll beat him up myself. So, tell me how to become a battlemage?" asked Shirley once again.
"You know becoming a battlemage isn't easy. It can be said to be very difficult, especially if you have no talent both in magic and swordmanship," Joseph replied seriously this time, although he did not know why Shirley was asking him this.
"If you are only good at swordsmanship, then you can only be a knight and if you are only good at magic you can only be a mage. You already understand what I mean, right?" continued Joseph lazily to explain further to Shirley.
After hearing Joseph's explanation, Shirley immediately thought that it seemed like she had been too rash by promising the battlemage matter to Noah, "I seem to have gone mad," Shirley muttered weakly.
"You are indeed crazy. You'd better go home now, father must be looking for you right now," Joseph replied as he shook his shoulders dismissively.
Not wanting to quarrel further with Joseph, Shirley simply nodded her head and called Ivy to prepare the carriage; they would soon return to the Estelle family mansion.
. . .
Shirley had intended to go straight into her room when she got home, but what she didn't expect was for Rosemary to call her into the dining room to have dinner together. Shirley half-heartedly walked towards the dining room and only found Rosemary with her two children who were Shirley's half-sisters.
"Where's father?" asked Shirley as she walked towards her chair.
However, unlike what Shirley expected Rosemary walked towards her with a cold face. Shirley instantly knew that her stepmother was not in a good mood and she wondered what had caused her to be like that.
"How could you make such a ruckus at Madeline's family mansion?!" said Rosemary, slapping Shirley hard, even making a loud noise from the slap.
Shirley rounded her eyes in surprise as she felt pain begin to spread across her cheek, she slowly held her cheek and lifted her face to cast a sharp glare at Rosemary who was still looking at her angrily.
