Before Shirley went to Marques Madeline's territory, she chose to stop by the lodge where Noah was, she couldn't just leave Noah alone, at least she had to make sure that Noah was still alive.
Because Shirley still cared about her life, she decided to approach Noah first before she went to Marques Madeline's territory. Although Ivy was very worried about Shirley's plan, Shirley was determined to see Noah first.
"Are you sure about this, Miss?" Ivy did not understand why Shirley cared so much about the young man she had locked up in the lodge, when before Shirley had never shown any concern for any man other than Victor.
Shirley ignored Ivy's words, unconsciously rubbing her fingernails anxiously. As long as Shirley could remember there had been no incident like this in the novel, during the time Noah had been kidnapped he had never been unconscious like this.
"What's really going on? I'll die if anything happens to Noah," Shirley muttered softly, she was really worried right now about Noah's condition.
It wasn't long before the carriage arrived at the lodge, without waiting for Ivy to help her down Shirley got off first and rushed into the lodge to find out what had happened there.
The guard who had previously reported to Shirley went straight to Shirley to explain what had happened there, "It's a good thing you came, Miss! I didn't know what to do after that young man lost consciousness this morning," the guard said just as frantically as Shirley was at the moment.
"Tell me what exactly happened," Shirley replied as she walked towards the room where Noah had been locked up.
"This morning when I went to give him breakfast, he was already unconscious. From the signs, he was most likely poisoned, Miss." In a slightly trembling voice the guard explained what had happened there.
"Poisoning you say? How did that happen? Did she eat something beforehand or did someone else come into her room?" Shirley couldn't help but think as the guard said that Noah had most likely been poisoned.
"I'm supposed to be the only one who can enter that young man's room and there's nothing he can eat other than the food and drink I brought, Miss," explained the guard fearfully, he had known Shirley for a long time and it looked like he was going to get scolded today.
"Damn it, who did it then! So, what's her condition now?" Although Shirley was angry about this incident, she tried to think clearly, her priority right now was to make sure that Noah was okay.
"I can only give her a general antidote, we dare not call for a doctor or healer without her consent." The guard hoped that he would not be shouted at this time for not doing anything to save the young man his lady had brought.
"Good, it would have been bad if you had called for a doctor or healer," Shirley replied as she nodded in satisfaction at what the guard was doing.
Fortunately they had arrived in front of the room Noah was using, Shirley immediately rushed into the room to check Noah's condition. Actually, the Cheniel Kingdom also has magic and swordsmanship.
And the Marques Estelle family was one of the families that had healing magic, although it was not as strong as the holy power possessed by the priests in the holy temple. And Shirley actually possessed that healing magic but it seemed that currently that power had not awakened within her.
When she entered the room Shirley could see Noah lying on the bed, as she approached she could see Noah's face was very pale. Not waiting much longer, Shirley immediately took Noah's wrist to check his pulse.
Shirley could feel that Noah's pulse was very weak, she had to help him right now otherwise Noah might die. But, with her magic power not yet awakened at the moment Shirley could not do anything for Noah.
However, Shirley would not give up so easily she had to save Noah no matter what. She looked around Noah's room, then walked towards the study table that was there. Shirley pulled out a piece of paper and started writing a letter.
"Give this letter to Joseph, he's at the clinic in town," Shirley said to the guard as she handed him the letter she had written.
"Yes, Miss!" The guard quickly left the room.
"Tell him to come quickly, if you can drag him here with you!" Shirley shouted when she saw that the guard had gone quite far from the room.
After the guard left, Shirley called Ivy to bring her a basin of water and a small clean towel. When Ivy arrived she could see Shirley sitting by the bed of the young man named Noah.
As Ivy approached to hand over the items Shirley had requested and Ivy didn't expect to be surprised when she saw the sleeping young man with a pale face, she recognised who it was.
"Oh my, Miss! Isn't he the youngest son of Count Janice's family?!" Ivy covered her mouth in shock at the sight of the familiar figure.
Shirley only sighed when she heard Ivy's words, "Yes, you're right, he's Noah of the Janice family." Shirley did not dodge and confirmed what Ivy said.
Shirley placed the basin Ivy had brought onto the nightstand in front of her and began to help wipe the cold sweat off Noah's face and neck.
"So the one Miss kidnapped is the youngest son of Janice's family! Did you do this to threaten Miss Thalia?" Ivy still couldn't believe what Shirley had done because she was jealous of Thalia snatching Victor.
"Miss, what are you going to do if the great lord finds out about this," Ivy continued, starting to get hysterical because of what Shirley had done without Gilbert's knowledge.
"Shut up, Ivy! You'd better wait outside while we wait for Joseph to arrive." Shirley waved her hand to shoo Ivy out of Noah's room.
Ivy inevitably left the room, no longer asking Shirley anything.
While Shirley continued to clean Noah's sweat, nothing happened at first. However, Shirley was surprised when Noah slowly opened his sad eyes, immediately Shirley's hand stopped as his eyes looked at each other with Noah.
"Be patient, my brother will come to help you soon," Shirley said later, then pulled her hand away from Noah's face.
However, what surprised Shirley was what Noah said to her after that.
"Why are you trying to help me? Don't you want me to die," Noah replied in a weak voice, but it could be seen that he was looking at Shirley sharply.
