Chereads / My wife is the Vampire Queen. / Chapter 21 - Getting my truth.

Chapter 21 - Getting my truth.

Right now, I am in one of the guest rooms with Amber and my two servants, if I can even call them that.

It's barely been a day since Amber confessed to knowing who killed my family, and seeing as I didn't explode, I guess I must be coming to terms with it.

Seated on the chair, Amber, for some reason, knelt in front of me while Rose and Tess stood at the entrance of the room.

After the sex we had, I remembered saying to meet up at the guest room while I freshened up… I just didn't expect this.

"What are you doing?" I asked, with a stoic expression on my face.

Though I did accept the fact my family is dead, that being said, for some reason, I can find myself smiling or viewing the world how I used to. Especially after recollecting some of my memories from my past life.

Amber stared up at me and responded,

"I'm simply showing my respect as your wife, do you not like it?".

Sigh!

"Do you I guess," I replied, "I'm sure you understand why I called you".

She grew silent.

"Is it about the incident with your mother and sister?"

"Yes".

I watched her take a deep breath, as if finding resolve to spill out whatever she wanted to from her mouth.

Or so I thought,

Amber simply looked at me with her obsessive eyes and spoke, "I did it for your own good".

So she says,

"Sweetie, don't get me wrong, I didn't know who was planning to kill your family or whatever. But since we both share the same heart, I was able to tell when you used your Redo skill and tried to save your parents, it's more like I can tell when time has been reset by you".

I knew it. She can also sense my feelings just as I do hers.

Amber continued, "I thought about sending help, but then again, I figured the deed would have already been done, and besides, something as tragic as that was the best way for you to recollect your memories faster".

"I see."

Those words left my mouth, I couldn't tell if I was disappointed in the fact Amber's hand in this wasn't as I expected, or was I relieved to know she wasn't working with the enemy.

"I still don't get why you're hung up on it though, they are humans, blood bags at best. You have me, you don't need those huma-"

I couldn't help it.

I just needed an excuse, literally anything she would have said to even piss me off slightly would have ended the same way.

I plunged my hand into her chest, blood painting my fingers as they shot out from her back.

But even this wasn't enough to break her character.

She smiled, holding my hand as she looked me in the eye.

"It's okay, you feel frustrated. Stab me a thousand times and I'll still do the same thing over and over again." Amber utterred, not a single hint of remorse in her gaze.

A thousand years and yet I still don't understand her.

Sigh!

I gently pulled my hand from her chest, watching as it immediately healed up as if it never happened.

"This Kong guy, what do you know about him?" I asked, cleaning my blood stained hand with the napkin handed to me by Rose.

"Kong… Ripper?" Amber tilted her head to the side with a confused look on her face, "Kong died a long time ago".

"Eh?"

"Eh?"

"Then who was the bastard in the black cloak?"

"I don't exactly know what you mean, but I personally killed Kong, with my two hands." Amber replied.

Yeah, she wasn't lying.

So if that wasn't Kong, does that mean there's someone else with the same motivation as him?

To wipe out vampires from the face of the earth? Or perhaps just a desperate spite to kill me?.

"Leon?".

I looked at her.

"The man-in black, the one who killed my family, I need to know who he is." I stood up from the chair, "Can you handle that for me?".

"No problem, I'll deploy my vampires to look into it." Amber replied.

"Good,"

In the meantime, I need to go check up on someone back in the city, someone who was just as close as my family.

I'm sure he's worried, it's been a while since I've checked up on him.

I didn't say much afterwards, I simply just stepped out of the room and as always, Rose and Tess followed behind me.

Once I was outside the mansion, the vampires all bowed their heads, greeting me in harmony as I walked out the gates.

Getting to the phantom city is a give or take, two hours drive, but that's usually me on my delivery bike.

But since I'm taking a car, it should be shorter, I hope.

"Rose." I called out.

"Yes Master." She responded.

I peeped outside the window and noticed the few individuals tailing my car, and from the way they were leaping from building to building, I doubt they are humans.

"Are those supposed to be Murai's vampires?" I asked.

Rose also peeped and saw them before she responded,

"Oh, they are from Lisa's, I guess she's curious to know what the king of vampires is up to".

"I see."

Lisa was the second progenitor if I remember correctly. Meaning she was one of my wives in my previous life.

Interesting, I guess it wouldn't hurt to give them the attention they didn't receive from home.

"Tess, stop the car at the next turn there." I ordered.

"Hai hai!"

Just as I had ordered, Tess packed the car at the next alley, where it was a bit dark and less people were present.

The vampires stopped on top of the two buildings forming the ally and stared trying to catch my movements.

I wasn't trying to hide, there'd be no point to that.

I simply stood in the middle, turning my red glowing eyes towards them while Tess and Rose attacked them from behind.
