[Phantom city, 9:34pm]
"Move it! Move it, hey are you blind!" A man driving his Lexus car yelled, trying to take a U turn before another car could overtake him.
"Where do you think you're going?! Come back here punk!" A set of teengers yelled as they were chasing one another.
During the day, the city is usually so dead some would think it had been abandoned, but during the night, people from different houses began to fill the streets.
Speaking of people that are active at night. A set of groups called The Shadows, were known to show up the moment the sun goes down.
People who have heard of them know one thing for sure, these people are not safe to be around with.
Drug dealings, kidnapping, robbery, gang war and illegal trading, they were involved with every crime the city had to offer.
But despite this, no one knew who they were, neither the police, nor the citizens of Phantom city.
Krrrrrr!
The car parked in front of an abandoned building, surrounded with dried out trees but hidden from the regular people's reach.
The door to the car opened and from within, stepped out a man dressed in a dark coat with a hat over his face. He was about 6'3ft tall with a muscular physique that anyone can tell just by looking at him.
Following behind him, were two other individuals, dressed in casual wear but the black glasses they wore only added to the mystery that came with their presence.
The three men made their way towards the building in front of them. Once they were close, not a word left their mouths, instead, the muscular man in front knocked on the door three times.
From the peep hole, someone spoke,
"What's the word?" The voice asked.
"Open the damn door Riic, or I'll rip out your heart, and you know I will." Responded the man.
"Boss! It's you!" The voice sounded panicked a bit, before the clicking of the door echoed and then it was opened.
The man walked in, taking a quick glance at the short man who had just opened the door for him. The short man had red hair with two horns sticking out of his forehead.
"How is the good?" The man asked.
"Oh, he's in there with Erica." Ricc responded.
"Good, you two, wait here." The man ordered the two men who were following behind him before he journeyed towards the second door.
The sound of his shoes echoed inside the room as he walked towards the door. Reaching there, he grabbed the door knob and opened the door.
He was first greeted with a view of a girl, dressed in all black sticking her ass up a boy's face. The boy's arms were tied up to the wall with chains, so even if he wanted to fight back, he couldn't.
"Erica, I thought I made it clear not to mess with the goods." The man spoke as he walked in, closing the door behind him before settling on the first chair he found.
"Father, why what a surprise to see you. Did you not trust that I could handle things here?" Erica spoke, stepping away from the boy before taking one step after the other towards her father.
"I found you sticking your butt up his face, that doesn't sound trustworthy." The man replied, his gaze now fixed on the boy.
"Oh relax, it's not like I killed him,..." Erica balanced herself on the chair with a smile, "See! He still looks good as new".
The boy in question was James, Leon's friend who was kidnapped by the devils according to his sister, Levi. James was 5 '10 with long blonde hair and brown eyes, he wasn't the usual handsome boy but he was still known to be a ladies man.
James, being tied up like a dead animal, was so beaten up the only thing he could see was blur and nothing else.
Blood dripped from his mouth and since he was shirtless, it wasn't hard to spot the multiple bruises on his chest. If anything, it was surprising he was still alive.
"Remind me not to give you my assignments again." The man spoke, a sigh leaving his mouth, "Hey there, sorry for how rude my daughter treated you, I apologize on her behalf." The man leaned forward.
Slowly, he pulled off his hat, revealing his face for James to see. The man had brown twisted hair and black eyes, although he looked a bit older, he had no hair on his chin.
And what was even more intimidating, was the scar that paved its way on the left eye of the man, networking all the way to his upper cheeks.
"My name is Dylan Thomas, a Devil, you should be honored." The man spoke, his eyes taking a green slow as he spoke.
"I understand you are wary of us, we did kidnap you and kill your parents and all that, but I guarantee you your sister is still alive, I wouldn't hurt an innocent girl-"
"W-What do… you want? Why do..all these for a stupid necklace?" James managed to let out a few words, but it was immediately followed by a violent cough.
"How naive of you." Dylan shook his head, "You truly believed you were the only one who knew about beings different from humans? What a shame".
Dylan stood up from where he was seated,
"This world is filled with creatures beyond your wildest dreams, creatures that defy the law of the world, and creatures who are cursed by that very world.
The government, your city, your school, every single place you look is crawling with these infested monkeys, don't you agree? They shouldn't have a place in our beautiful world".
Dylan moved closer to James, crouching down in front of him as he continued,
"I admit, I needed to borrow power from them to fight against them, but it's a small price to pay for victory.
That being said,
It's a shame humans can't remember the times they ran into these failed species, what a shame indeed….makes it almost funny, funny to know I shall build a new world and none of you shall remember it".
