The sound of the running water resounded as I walked out of the bathroom, dressed in new clothes that Levi had set out for me.
A black shirt that was left unbuttoned and pajamas pants, a weird combination but I'll take it.
With a towel around my neck as I dried my wet hair and walked into the sitting room, only to meet Levi sitting on the chair nervously and my servant sitting beside her.
"Welcome back master." Rose greeted me, standing up to take the towel from my grasp before she began drying my hair with it.
Settling on the chair opposite Levi, it didn't take more for me to realize she was nervous, even more than she was before.
Just to be on the safe side, I had already renewed my spawn point, although I doubt I'll be needing it.
"There's no reason to be so nervous, Levi, you can take a breather and relax." I spoke, resting my back on the chair.
"I'm not nervous-" She replied with a shaky voice.
Not that I wasn't already aware she has a tsundere attitude, I grew up with this girl.
"Sure," I leaned forward, "Are you going to tell me why your mom is a devil and your dad's upper body is missing?".
Levi stared at me for a while,-
"I'll answer all your questions, but first… tell me what you are?" She asked.
I see, she's still wary of me. I mean I would be if I was in her shoes. But what am I supposed to do? Tell her I'm the reincarnation of the father of vampires?.
Sigh!
"I'm a vampire." I replied to her.
She grew quiet and Tess, who was sitting beside Levi, tried her best to hold down the laughter slipping through her lips.
"You're a vampire?" Levi asked back.
"Yes I am."
"Those creatures that drink human blood?"
"Not necessarily human blood but I'll let that slide."
"Ah- But how? I was sure you were human Lulu, how did you turn into one of them?!" Levi exclaimed.
"Right here…" I pointed at my heart, "A vampire saved me from death by giving me her heart".
For whatever reason, her face was beet red as she stared at my bare chest,
"You exchange your heart with a vampire's?" She asked.
"Yes I did, it wasn't consensual at first, but it was for the best, you understand?"
I made sure to keep my eyes on her at all times. One of my abilities is one that lets me sense if someone is telling me the truth or lying.
"I think so, I mean you used to be so shy and innocent , but now, you just look… different."
"Yeah, I get that alot, I guess you can say it's one of the perks of being a vampire." I replied, and then-
Levi took a deep breath.
"You want to know how my parents ended up dead in the bathroom, right?" She spoke, looking to the ground as she messaged her palms.
"...."
Levi stared at me, "It happened a few days ago, only a week after I arrived at home".
She began.
"James was missing for a few days, mom and I were worried and dad already filed the missing papers to the police, but that didn't do much.
On the fourth day, someone came knocking on our door claiming to be from the police department… he asked if he could come in and my mother agreed, but the moment he stepped in, he bit her in the neck.
Dad tried to fight back, but was knocked unconscious by the same guy. I was too scared to move, it felt like I was in some kind of horror movie.
I thought I was dead, but the monster only told me about my brother being kidnapped and now I should turn over the necklace or he's dead".
"Necklace?" I asked.
"I'm not sure too," Levi covered her face with her hands, "James only ever had one necklace, and I doubt it's something that would warrant kidnapping".
"This necklace, can you please describe to me what it looks like?" Rose chimed in.
Levi slowly pulled her hands down, looking to the ground again as she tried to remember,
"It was gold, that much is sure, and weirdly shaped like a peacock, or was it a fox,, I'm sorry, I don't remember."
"Did it have any writing?" Rose asked again.
"Uhn… yes I think, something like, the contract is …. "
"The contract is blood, and shall be sealed." Tess spoke, cutting Levi short.
Levi turned her gaze towards her, "How did you know?" She asked.
"Because that is not an ordinary necklace, it's an artifact, that is why the devils want it." Rose utterred, this time looking at me.
Artifacts, I suddenly remembered what they were.
Among the seven wives I got married to, one of them had the ability to birth creatures with will; how she does this is still a mystery to me.
But she would always come to me, showing me different creatures she had created, spirits, monsters, werewolves, and a lot more.
The more my memories return to me, the more I realize the history Amber told me about was twisted.
According to her, there were three originals, minus me, two others, Eiro(Kong) And Yilina.
Yilina was supposed to be an original that brought to life different supernatural beings, but they can't be possible, my wife was the one that did that.
And then, there's the part of Eiro controlling devils to wipe the human race, that also is flawed.
Devils only exist from dead vampires who were turned into demons. Humans then made contracts with these demons to become Devils.
Does that mean humans wanted to wipe out their own kind? All I remember was devils being obsessed with world order and killing off every vampire.
It got so bad, vampires went into hiding and humans slowly began to forget about their existence.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't feeling pissed off by that, but this isn't the time.
Back to the artifacts, these are basically equipment that have been possessed by spirits in order to survive.
So the question is, how many people knew about these artifacts, and why is my friend James in contact with one?.
