We spent another thirty minutes listening to Levi's explanation about the situation.
From what she explained, her mother began acting weirdly after she was bitten and just went on an attack rampage, eating her dad all the way to his lower half.
She was able to survive by trapping her mother in the bathroom, or so she says.
"There there, you'll be fine…" Tess patted Levi on the head, I guess her way of consoling.
All I can gather from everything are three important things,
One- Someone, most likely a devil, is after James artifacts and must be something important to them.
Two- They know where he lives, meaning it's not even safe for Levi to stay here on her own.
Three - unless I'm wrong, it would be wise to assume the devil's in general have a thing for artifacts.
The first thing I need to know is how to track down where their base is, and find James before the worst happens.
Worst case scenario, he loses his arm or legs, or perhaps just tortured a bit.
And besides….
I'm getting fed up with supernatural hiding from the human eyes.
Slowly, I stood up from where I sat, but I was also so close to Levi she had to look up to observe my face.
"Lulu?" She muttered.
Staring down at her, I spoke,
"Do you know where James kept the necklace?" I asked.
"No, I only saw it once, and that was it, I barely remember what it looks like." She responded.
"I see… give me a sec then".
Moving my gaze around the house, I activated yet another one of my amazing abilities.
Perception.
It basically helps me with senses and anything needed for my survival. In this case, I can look through things infinitely until I find what I'm looking for.
And so I did-
My eyes took a blue glow and I began to scan the house like I was a human heat sensor.
It took me a while but I found it, the necklace in question was just right inside one of the rooms, in James's shoe.
My eyes went back to its red dim color before I turned my gaze towards Levi. "It's in James's room, in his Jordan shoes." I informed her.
She was most likely shocked because she said nothing to me. Instead, she just stood up and walked out of the living room.
A few seconds later, she walked back in with the same unbothered expression on her face while she held out the necklace in her right hand.
"Ah, good, you found it." I turned to her.
"No you found it."
She cut me short.
"I know I sound crazy right now, especially after everything I have seen but… none of this should be possible." Levi uttered, the look on her face resembled that of a person at the verge of tears.
"You punched my mother, through the head, that isn't normal, and now, just now, you were able to tell where this is without moving from a spot, just… what are you?!".
I stared at her for a while-
"I already told you, I am the reincarnation of-"
"That's not what I want to hear!" She yelled, "Where's the Lulu I know, kind and quiet, and so free spirited, the you in front of me right now… has so much blood lust it's suffocating".
"I see… Do I scare you?" I asked.
"... What?".
"Humans tend to be scared of things they don't understand, …."
"Stop! Stop! Stop!, stop speaking like that! You're human!" Levi yelled.
I could tell she was being overly emotional but there wasn't much I could do about that.
"Do I scare you?".
I asked again, but this time rather than relying on me, she simply ran towards me and hugged me.
"Please, go back to the way you once were, okay, I can forget everything that has happened up until now." Levi rested her head on my chest.
"Really?"
"Yes, you know I'm always here for you, even in the past, when everyone didn't believe you, I was always there for you".
"You're willing to forget the people who killed your parents, and took your brother hostage?".
°°°°°
"As long as you're-"
I couldn't bare to hear her response, so I pushed her away from me, looking her in the eyes as I spoke,
"You're clearly not thinking well, You should stay here," I pulled the necklace from her grasp and began walking away.
"Uhn? Wait! Lulu!" She tried to stop me.
"Rose, Tess, Whatever happens do not let her leave this house."
And with that, I was gone.
....
Her words did get to me a little, and it's something I can't deny, or rather, something I'm still fighting.
The more I regain my memories, the more I feel the pain and suffering my past self felt.
It makes it almost impossible to see the world the same way I did before I awakened. As much as I love those around me, I still don't trust them 100%.
But would that stop me from protecting them? No, I'd gladly give my life for that.
But dying isn't an option now, I can't make the same mistake I made in the past.
Firstly, I should fix this notion that we as supernatural beings need to be hidden from the human world.
That is not a world I want to build.
A world where humans are free to do whatever they like and supernatural beings are obligated to the same right without being judged, that is a world I want.
And if along the way, this world becomes impossible to obtain. I'll burn everything, burn everything down to a cender.
That is the decision I have made.
I, the reincarnation of the king of vampires, Vlad Voldigald, swear it.
"Now then, how do I find these troublesome devils?" I voiced out, standing on top of the skyscraper, a place where I could see all of Phantom city and maybe even more.
