Oscana Mansion.
"Ughh my head."
"Huh where am I?" Ren remembers that he should be in the hospital, but now he is awake and in different places.
Ren looks around and analyzes the room, the architecture of the room makes him feel like he is in the Middle Ages.
Suddenly there was a pain in his head, and he remembered something, this body was not Ren, but the owner of this body was Gareth Miller.
Am I reincarnated? He got Gareth Miller's memory that he was a nobleman,
His father, David Miller, was killed fighting bandits, and the day after his father's death, he inherited the Barony of Oscana.
The revelation that he was poisoned at breakfast adds a sense of urgency to Ren's predicament. His thoughts race as he ponders the motives behind the poisoning and the potential dangers that lie ahead. It becomes clear that Oscana is not a safe haven, and someone within its ranks may have nefarious intentions.
"Fuck, this is really bad."
"Someone's trying to kill me."
"Oh, who's in charge when I'm in a coma?"
"What should I do now?"

After selecting a skill, the door suddenly opened.
The heavy wooden door creaked open, revealing a servant clad in medieval attire. The person bows respectfully upon seeing Ren.
"Milord Gareth, you've awoken! The entire mansion was worried when we found you unconscious," the servant informs, genuine concern in their eyes.
Ren, still adjusting to his new identity as Gareth, nods in acknowledgment. "What happened to me? Why am I in this state?"
The servant hesitates for a moment before replying, "Milord, it seems you fell ill after breakfast. The apothecary believes it was poison, but fear not, for you seem to have recovered miraculously. It's a true blessing."
Ren conceals his shock, careful not to reveal his suspicions. "A blessing indeed," he says, feigning gratitude. "Where is my steward? I need to discuss matters concerning the Barony."
The servant nods. "Right away, Milord. Sir William is awaiting your presence in the study."
As Ren follows the servant through the dimly lit halls of Oscana Mansion, he contemplates his situation. The revelation of his newfound skills and the attempted poisoning are disconcerting. It becomes clear that he must tread carefully, not only to survive but to uncover the motives behind the attack.
Entering the study, Ren finds Sir William, a middle-aged man with a weathered face. He rises from his seat as Ren enters, bowing deeply.
"Milord Gareth, I'm relieved to see you well. How may I be of service?"
Ren takes a moment to assess Sir William, wondering if he can be trusted. "I need a report on the state of the Barony, and I want to know if there have been any unusual occurrences in my absence."
"Milord Gareth, after your coma, Mayor Eldric took over as regent."
Ren nods, absorbing the information. "Mayor Eldric, I see. Inform him that I wish to discuss matters concerning the Barony at his earliest convenience."
Sir William bows again. "Of course, Milord. I shall convey your message immediately."
As the steward departs to deliver the message, Ren's mind races. Mayor Eldric taking over as regent raises questions, and Ren wonders if there's any connection between the poisoning and Eldric's assumption of power.
___
City Hall.
A servant gives Mayor Eldric a message.
"What that brat is still alive." He shocks that Gareth is still alive and he read the message. "And he wants to see me."
"Tell them I will come shortly."
___
Oscana Mansion.
Shortly after, Major Eldric enters the study. His demeanor is composed, but Ren can't shake the feeling that there's more to the story than meets the eye.
"Milord Gareth, I'm delighted to see you've recovered. How may I be of service?" Mayor Eldric greets with feigned concern.
Ren studies Eldric's expressions and body language, searching for any signs of deceit. "Mayor Eldric, I wish to discuss the current state of Oscana and the reasons behind your assumption of regency in my absence."
Eldric maintains a composed demeanor. "Milord, it was a matter of necessity. With your sudden illness, someone had to ensure the stability of the Barony. I took the responsibility to maintain order and protect the interests of Oscana."
Ren nods, concealing his skepticism. "I appreciate your dedication, Mayor. However, I intend to resume my duties. I trust you'll provide me with a comprehensive report on the events that transpired during my coma."
Eldric bows, hiding a subtle unease. "Of course, Milord. I shall gather the necessary documents immediately. Please, make yourself comfortable."
Ren has read the documents, and one of the things that makes Ren suspicious is the Mayor of Oscana, who became Regent of Oscana after Gareth's poisoning and has been arbitrarily raising taxes, and he also has the support of the Knight and the Merchant.
Ren carefully considers his options. The pieces of the puzzle are starting to come together, and he realizes that the mayor's actions might be driven by more than just a sense of responsibility. The support from the Knight and the Merchant suggests a level of collusion that raises Ren's suspicions.
Ren decides to confront Mayor Eldric directly about the tax increases and the seemingly orchestrated support from influential figures. He arranges a private meeting in the study, away from prying eyes and ears.
As Mayor Eldric enters the study, Ren gets straight to the point. "Mayor Eldric, I've reviewed the documents, and I find the arbitrary tax increases troubling. Can you explain the reasoning behind such decisions?"
Eldric maintains his composed demeanor but can't entirely hide the tension in his eyes. "Milord, in your absence, we faced certain financial challenges. The increased taxes were necessary to maintain the Barony's stability and security."
Ren narrows his eyes, unconvinced. "And what of the support you seem to have garnered from the Knight and the Merchant? It appears more than a mere coincidence."
Mayor Eldric sighs, dropping the facade slightly. "Milord, I acted in the best interest of Oscana. The Knight and the Merchant were concerned about the vacuum in leadership during your coma. I assured them that I could maintain order and protect their interests. The tax increases were a necessary measure to secure their support."
Ren senses there's more to the story. "Cut the political doublespeak, Mayor. What are your true intentions, and why the urgency in consolidating power?"
Mayor Eldric hesitates for a moment before speaking cautiously. "Milord, Oscana is at a crossroads. We face external threats, and internal unity is paramount. I believed that assuming a regency would provide the stability needed to navigate these challenges."
Ren remains skeptical but doesn't reveal his suspicions just yet. "I appreciate your concerns for Oscana, Mayor. However, I intend to resume my duties as the rightful ruler. I expect a smooth transition of power back to me, and I will address the issues facing the Barony in my own way."
Eldric bows, hiding his frustration. "As you wish, Milord. I shall make the necessary arrangements for your return to power."
As Mayor Eldric leaves the study, Ren contemplates his next moves. The revelation of the mayor's motivations and the support from influential figures only deepen the mystery surrounding Oscana.
___
City Hall.
"That damned brat, how dare he?" Mayor Eldric is furious after giving up his position as Regent.
"Kevin!" He yell.
A young man, presumably Kevin, enters the room in response to the mayor's call. He appears to be a loyal aide, waiting for instructions.
"Milord, how may I assist you?" Kevin asks, maintaining a respectful tone.
Mayor Eldric, still seething with frustration, issues his commands. "Prepare a meeting with the Knight and the Merchant. We need to devise a plan to handle this situation. I won't let that brat take back control so easily."
Kevin nods obediently. "Of course, Milord. I shall arrange the meeting immediately."
As Mayor Eldric takes a moment to compose himself, he realizes the gravity of the situation. The sudden return of Gareth poses a threat to the carefully laid plans, and the support of the Knight and the Merchant may not be as unwavering as it once seemed.
