'But who's going to defend my territory when I go to look for Celestial Bloom, even if it's in the Glowing Grove?'
'My role is to support and tank, not to fight, but if I don't kill, how the hell am I going to get any experience?'
'Make them prisoners and let me execute them?'
'I guess this is the only option now.'
'Wait, my aura health regeneration is global, even if I go far away from my own territory, my soldier will still get my aura health regeneration.'
'I think I shouldn't go after all.'
'If I go who going look after my people.'
'Especially the Mayor Eldric, who is still in charge of the city, tied to the knight and merchant guilds.'
'Wait my own people also get buff, right?'
'Should I make a law for the conscription of an army?'
'No, joining an army must be voluntary, otherwise they will become discontented or even rebel.'
'I really need to level up.'
'Should I hunt monsters in my own territory?'
'This is the best choice, not only will I level up, but it will also make my fief safer.'
Ren, deep in thought, realizes the complexity of his situation. Balancing the need to improve his magical abilities, protect his territory, and ensure the well-being of his people requires careful consideration. As he contemplates his next steps, he formulates a plan to address the challenges before him.
Firstly, Ren decides to prioritize the safety and prosperity of his territory. He recognizes that leaving his fief without proper defense could lead to potential threats and unrest. Instead of embarking on a journey to the Glowing Grove immediately, he opts to focus on leveling up within the confines of his own territory.
To efficiently gain experience and strengthen his abilities, Ren plans to hunt monsters within his fief. This not only serves as a practical solution to leveling up but also contributes to making his territory safer for the residents. He believes that by actively engaging in combat and improving his skills, he can better fulfill his role as a protector and leader.
"Mage Arion no, Senior I think I've reconsidered my decision. Instead of immediately pursuing the path of a warrior and seeking Celestial Bloom, I've decided to prioritize the safety of my territory and my people." Ren respectfully declined the offer to become a warrior.
"I see, you are truly one of the wisest rulers I have ever seen." Mage Arion reply
with a nod of understanding. "Prioritizing the safety of your territory and the well-being of your people is indeed a wise decision. It shows not only strength but also a keen sense of responsibility. If you ever decide to embark on the path of a warrior or seek the Celestial Bloom in the future, know that the choice is yours to make."
Mage Arion gives Ren a book on how to cultivate a warrior's path. "Take this, when you are ready and have free time, go ahead and practice this."
"Senior this...." Ren took a look at the book.
"It's free, you don't have to pay." Mage Arion replies without letting Ren finish his word.
Ren expresses his gratitude to Mage Arion for understanding his decision and graciously accepts the book on cultivating the warrior's path.
he also asked permission to say goodbye to the mage Arion.
Mage Arion nods with a kind smile, "Of course, Lord Gareth. Feel free to come and seek my guidance whenever you need it. May your endeavors in protecting your territory and growing as a leader be successful. Farewell for now."
Ren bows respectfully to Mage Arion, expressing his gratitude once again. "Thank you, Senior Arion, for your wisdom and guidance. I will make good use of the knowledge you've shared, and when the time is right, Until then, farewell."
Ren returned to the Oscana Mansion with mana elixirs, mystic tonic, and a book on how to cultivate a warrior's path.
When he arrived in the bedroom, he immediately meditated for 2 hours to recover his mana, and then went back to Sir William's office, he knocked on the door.
"Please come in." Sir William reply.
When Ren entered his office Sir William bowed. "Milord, how may I assist you?" Sir William asks, maintaining a respectful tone.
"Sir William, I need two people, a scout and a strong servant to handle carry hunted monsters, both of them will help me hunt a monster." Ren asks for an assistant to hunt a monster.
Sir William nods in acknowledgment. "Certainly, Milord. I will arrange for a skilled scout and a strong servant to accompany you on the monster hunt. Is there anything specific you're looking for in these individuals?"
Ren considers for a moment. "For the scout, someone with excellent tracking skills and knowledge of the local terrain would be ideal. As for the servant, strength is crucial, as they'll be responsible for carrying the hunted monsters. Additionally, loyalty and diligent are essential qualities for both positions."
"I understand, Milord. I will personally select individuals who meet your criteria. They will be ready to accompany you at your earliest convenience," Sir William assures.
"Thank you, Sir William. Also, I'll need information on the types of monsters that roam our territory and their usual habitats. This will help us plan our hunt more effectively," Ren adds.
"Of course, Milord. I will gather that information immediately," Sir William replies, making a note of Ren's request.
An hour later, Sir William returns to Ren's office with the selected individuals and the information about the local monsters. He introduces them with a bow.
"Milord, allow me to present Elara, an experienced scout with exceptional tracking skills, and Roland, a strong and reliable servant capable of handling the transport of hunted monsters."
Ren nods in acknowledgment and addresses Elara and Roland. "Welcome, Elara and Roland. Your assistance is crucial in the upcoming task. Elara, I trust in your tracking abilities, and Roland, your strength will be much appreciated, Sir William has provided me with information on the local monsters and their habitats. Please familiarize yourselves with it, and we shall depart shortly."
Elara and Roland express their readiness and gratitude for the opportunity to serve. Ren then turns to Sir William. "Thank you, Sir William, for your arrangements. Is there anything else I should be aware of before we set out?"
"Milord, Elara and Roland are well-equipped for the task. Additionally, I've arranged for a supply of provisions for the journey. I wish you a successful and safe expedition," Sir William replies.
Ren nods appreciatively. "Thank you, Sir William. We shall make the most of this opportunity. Please keep the affairs of the fief in order during my absence."
"Of course, Milord. I will ensure everything runs smoothly in your absence," Sir William assures.
As Ren, Elara, and Roland gather for their departure, Ren takes a moment to address the group. "Elara, Roland, before we set out, there's an additional precaution we need to take. We'll be embarking on this monster hunt at late night to minimize the chances of being observed by anyone, especially potential spies. Mayor Eldric has been a source of concern lately, and I want to ensure our movements are discreet. Is this arrangement acceptable to both of you?"
Elara and Roland nod in agreement, understanding the need for caution. Elara speaks up, "Milord, your concern is duly noted. We are ready to adapt to the nighttime schedule for the mission. Stealth is a valuable asset in our line of work."
Ren appreciates their understanding. "Thank you both. Late at night, we will have the cover of darkness on our side. Now you both rest. We will leave quietly when the moon is high."
As the late-night hour arrives, Ren, Elara, and Roland gather at the designated meeting point, each equipped for the upcoming monster hunt. The moon casts a silvery glow, providing a dim illumination that enhances their night vision.
"Elara, Roland, the time has come. Let's move silently and swiftly," Ren says in a hushed tone.
Elara, with her keen tracking skills, takes the lead, guiding the group through the familiar yet potentially treacherous terrain. Roland follows closely, his strong and silent presence ready for any challenges that may arise.
The trio moves with a purposeful pace, avoiding main paths and sticking to the shadows. The city sleeps, unaware of the nocturnal expedition taking place on its outskirts.
As the group ventures further into the territory, Ren decides to set up a temporary camp to prepare for the monster hunt. He turns to Roland and Elara with instructions.
"Roland, let's establish a camp here. We'll need a secure base while Elara scouts for potential monsters. Ensure the campfire is low and concealed. We don't want to draw unnecessary attention," Ren commands.
Roland nods in acknowledgment and starts gathering materials to set up a discreet campsite.
As the campfire flickers in the night, Ren patiently waits for Elara's report. The sounds of the nocturnal creature's echo through the darkened woods, creating an eerie symphony. Roland keeps a watchful eye on the surroundings while maintaining the low-profile camp.
After a period of suspense, Elara returns to the camp, her footsteps barely audible as she approaches. Ren looks towards her, eager for the information she gathered.
"Milord," Elara begins, speaking in a hushed tone, "I've spotted signs of a group of goblin raiders not far from here."
