Chapter 12 - Alter Ego

The battle rages on as Ren, fueled by the stacked Blood Pact, unleashes a relentless assault on the remaining hobgoblins. His blows are swift and powerful, catching the creatures off guard.

The first hobgoblin, still reeling from Ren's initial attack, struggles to regain its composure. The second hobgoblin, undeterred by Ren's increased strength, swings its massive club with ferocity.

Ren, on the other hand, moves with an almost unnatural agility, dodging attacks with ease. His body is fueled by the mysterious power of the Blood Pact. With a series of quick blows, Ren decapitates the first goblin, leaving it sprawled on the ground in a pool of its own blood.

'Damn, this guy's fucking scary.' Ren, afraid of his own body.

"HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA"

Ren's laughter echoed through the forest, a mixture of madness and empowerment. The second hobgoblin, now facing Ren alone, hesitates for a moment, unsure of how to deal with this seemingly possessed foe.

Ren attacks the remaining hobgoblin, delivering a series of blows that leave it battered and bruised. The creature, unable to withstand the onslaught, and then Ren, cut off the hobgoblins' limbs one by one. And it laughs like mad.

"HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA"

'Bruh, I feel like I am watching a horror movie.'

The scene unfolds with an eerie intensity as Ren, now seemingly consumed by the power of the Blood Pact, continues his merciless assault on the hobgoblins. The forest echoes with the grotesque sounds of battle, punctuated by Ren's maniacal laughter.

As Ren continues his onslaught, the air around him crackles with an unsettling energy. His laughter, a chilling symphony of madness, adds an unsettling layer to the chaotic scene. The once fearsome hobgoblins now find themselves helpless against this force that seems to defy the natural order.

Ren's own internal conflict adds a layer of complexity to the situation. The alter ego of his terrifying actions with his inner fear creates a surreal and unsettling atmosphere. It's as if Ren has tapped into a power beyond his control, transforming him into a force to be reckoned with, but at the cost of his own sanity.

The hobgoblin, now on the verge of collapse, can only look on in horror as Ren, fueled by the mysterious power coursing through his veins, delivers the final, devastating blows. The forest falls silent, save for the fading echoes of Ren's laughter, leaving behind a scene of carnage and an air of lingering dread.

[HP: 0/400]

"Wha-"

Ren's vision fades into darkness as his body succumbs to the aftermath of the Blood Pact's power. The once frenzied laughter is replaced by a pained groan, and he finds himself in a void of nothingness.

[Resurrection Activated.]

After the resurrection, he didn't wake up right away, but he found himself in his hometown before he was reincarnated as Gareth Miller in this fantasy world.

Ren blinked, disoriented by the sudden shift in surroundings. The once chaotic forest and the remnants of the battle were replaced by familiar sights of his hometown. The air felt different—calmer, devoid of the eerie energy that had surrounded him moments ago.

As Ren took in his surroundings, he noticed the people bustling about in the town square. The scent of freshly baked bread wafted through the air. The warm sunlight bathed the cobbled streets in a gentle glow. It was a stark contrast to the dark and unsettling battlefield he had just left behind.

His gaze shifted to a reflective surface, and he saw himself not the armored warrior fueled by the Blood Pact, but the version of himself before this fantastical journey began. Ren, the ordinary man.

"What... where am I?" Ren muttered to himself, still grappling with the disorienting transition.

As he wandered through the town, memories flooded back—a life he had almost forgotten in the midst of battles and bloodshed. Faces of family and friends greeted him, and a sense of nostalgia tugged at his heart.

In the midst of the comforting normalcy, Ren felt an inexplicable unease. He turned a corner, and there, standing before him, was his alter ego the warrior he had become in that fantastical world. The echo of maniacal laughter lingered in the air as he faced the embodiment of his darker self.

The alter ego stared back, its eyes reflecting the madness and power Ren had experienced in the fantasy realm. There was a twisted grin on its face, a stark contrast to Ren's bewildered expression.

"Are you Ren or Gareth?" the alter ego hissed, its voice a chilling whisper that seemed to echo from the void.

Ren, still grappling with the surreal situation, hesitated before responding, "I... I am Ren. Gareth was just a role I played in that world."

The alter ego's grin widened and it took a step closer, the unsettling aura around it intensifying. "Interesting, you are not a person from our world, but an alien from another world."

Ren's mind swirled with confusion and a growing sense of dread. The revelation that he was considered an "alien" in this context added another layer of complexity to his understanding of the situation.

"What do you mean, 'alien'? This is all so surreal," Ren muttered, his voice wavering between disbelief and fear.

The alter ego circled him, its laughter echoing in the empty streets of the town. "You stumbled upon a dimension not meant for your kind.

"Who are you?"

" No."

"What are you? " Ren asks to his alter ego.

The alter ego stopped its circling and locked eyes with Ren, its gaze penetrating and unsettling. "I am the manifestation of your mana, the power you unleashed, combine me with Blood Pact turn me into develop a consciousness, call me whatever you wish your alter ego, your inner demon. I am the side of you that revels in the madness and power of the Blood Pact."

Ren felt a chill run down his spine as he processed the words of his alter ego. The revelation that this alter ego was a manifestation of his own mana, combined with the influence of the Blood Pact, left him grappling with the implications of his actions in the fantasy world.

"So, you're a part of me... my own darker side?" Ren questioned, a mix of fear and curiosity in his voice.

The alter ego nodded, its twisted grin never fading. "Indeed. You tapped into powers beyond your understanding, and I emerged as a result. I am the side of you that embraces the chaos, the power, and the madness."

As Ren pondered the implications, memories of the battle and the eerie laughter echoed in his mind. The alter ego's presence seemed to linger, a constant reminder of the thin line between power and madness.

"What now?" Ren asked, his voice steadier but filled with uncertainty.

The alter ego circled him again, its movements almost hypnotic. "Now, you have a choice. Embrace me, and the power we wield together. Or reject me, and forever be haunted by the echoes of the Blood Pact's influence."

Ren reply "I don't want to reject you or embrace you why don't we co-exist so we can conquer this world or even beyond."

The alter ego paused, its grin fading for a moment as it considered Ren's words. The air around them seemed to hold its breath, waiting for the response.

"Co-exist, you say?" the alter ego mused, its voice taking on a thoughtful tone. "An intriguing proposition, Ren. But power comes with a price, and the Blood Pact's influence is not to be taken lightly."

Ren, determined but wary, met the alter ego's gaze. "You know I have system right since you are part of me, you know I had ability to resurrection not to mention clone, why I don't put you into my own clone you had own free will."

The alter ego's grin returned, more sinister than before. "Hahaha interesting."

"Hmm, you wish to create a vessel for me, a clone, with its own free will?" the alter ego mused, its eyes gleaming with a mix of curiosity and malevolence.

"Alright it's a deal "the alter ego responded, its voice echoing with a sinister agreement. As Ren contemplated the consequences of his decision, he couldn't shake the feeling that a new chapter of his journey was about to unfold—one where the boundaries between himself and his alter ego would blur, and the power of the Blood Pact would find a new vessel.
