As Evily followed after the sharp-looking who took her to the police station the other day, she urged to cry.
Many times, she was tempted to turn around and run. But that person in front of her would turn around once every few seconds as if he was keeping his eyes on her.
"Miss Evily, we're here."
Peter's voice snapped her out of her trance. As the man knocked on the door and pushed the door open, Evily snapped out of her trance and took a deep breath.
Peter showed her into the room and she had no other choice but to enter the room.
The moment she walked in, Evily saw that her big boss was sitting at the centre of the room with his phone in his hand. Her breath hitched as he lifted his head to look at her. She then realized that there were only two of them in the room.
"You're here." Bruce rose to his feet and strode toward her.
As he came nearer to her, Evily felt a chill running down her spine. She instinctively grabbed the chain of her bag and stepped back. She felt suffocated at his formidable presence; it seemed as if her room had suddenly shrunk. Standing meekly before him, she asked, "Director Hudson, You were looking for me?"
Bruce subconsciously tightened his hands in his pocket. He fixed his eyes on her as if he was trying to see through her.
"Are you going to say something or should I?" Bruce cocked a brow at her.
"Huh?" Her eyes grew wide.
"Seems like Miss Evily is an ungrateful woman." He
took a step towards her, and she instinctively took a step back.
Bruce took another step towards her and again she responded by taking another step backwards. Bruce's lips curved upward when she did that.
"You do remember what happened that night," He said.
"I don't remember...." Her heart was beating without control and at the rate it was beating, her rib cage might fractured soon.
Bruce yet took another step towards and she took another backwards, but this time she finally muttered something, "Director Hudson."
"Mmm" He replied as he took another step, making them respond as usual with a backward step of her one, but this time she snapped her head back when her back touched a hard flat surface. It was the wall...A fucking wall!
Before she could say anything, he lowered his head, moving closer to her. Their faces were only inches apart when all of a sudden, his phone rang, ruining the atmosphere between them.
Bruce narrowed his eyes at the interruption. He then pulled himself away from her to answer the call.
Bruce cast his eyes over her while talking on the phone. "Alright, I got it. I'll head back right now."
After he ended the call, he looked at Evily and said, "Try to recall until you remember it."
With that, he turned and left the room. As his figure vanished from sight, Evily loosened up.
'Evily! Why? Why? You crazy!" She screamed in her head.

After work, Evily headed to Alexander's apartment without calling him beforehand.
She freely opened the door and stepped into the apartment. She changed into a pair of slippers. Just when she reached the living room, a woman's moan of pleasure drifted out of the master bedroom.
All at once, her heart lurched. The master bedroom's door was slightly ajar, and the woman's seductive and enthralling voice came from within the room.
Her legs felt as though they were made of lead, but still, they involuntarily led the way.
As she stood at the door of the bedroom, the cries of ecstasy from within sounded increasingly clear, every single sound hitting her squarely in the chest.
The door creaked open with a slight push from her.
A pair of beige high heels were scattered haphazardly, and a myriad of feminine items littered the floor. Such a scene had her thoughts inevitably going into the gutter.
Enduring the fury and panic within her, she shifted her eyes to the bed. But at that single glance, it instantly felt as though a knife pierced her heart, the pain so excruciating that she couldn't quite breathe.
Her step-sister Amelia was currently in bed with her boyfriend, Alexander.
The moment Amelia caught sight of Evily by the door, her eyes split.
"Evily!" She almost screams.
"What's wrong?" While saying that, Alexandar glanced at the door. The moment he spotted Evily, he froze instantly.
He swiftly scrambled off Amelia, his gaze brimming with panic as he regarded Evily.
At that very moment, his desire had long vanished without a trace. Panicked, he didn't even have the time to cover his birthday suit.
Amelia, on the other hand, pulled the covers around herself and lowered her head with tearful eyes.
By then, Evily's face was already stained with tears. Inundated by wrath and hatred, she wanted to vent at the cruelty of the truth, but she merely spun around to leave.
Alexander quickly chased after her with a towel around his waist, his gaze radiating guilt. "I can explain, Evily..."
