Chereads / The Alpha King’s Chosen Mate / Chapter 11 - He is here, the King.

Chapter 11 - He is here, the King.

"Have you found her?" Jaziel asked pacing in front of his desk, his hand was crossed at his back, and he glanced at the shoe on his desk at intervals.

It was the only thing she had left behind.

"No, Alpha King. We haven't found her."

"Why?" He stopped facing and faced his Beta.

"She must've hidden somewhere."

"Find her!" He growled.

His Beta lowered his head and nodded curtly.

"It's been almost six hours since she went missing, everyone in his country has been aware that my chosen mate was missing. The council of Elders will be here soon, and they will ask questions about her. You've to find her before they come to the palace and request a meeting." He slammed his desk.

His Beta cleared his throat and took a step back. "I will do everything to find her, and bring her back."

"What about those servants?"

"They have been imprisoned, Alpha."

Jaziel clenched his fist, if they hadn't run their mouth, she would be here right now. What made them think he would kill her? That was what he planned but not after he found out she was his mate.

He couldn't think of anything to hurt her.

"What are you still waiting for?" He roared furiously. "Go find her!"

"Yes, Alpha King." Sebastian his Beta bowed and hurried out of the study room. He doesn't know where she might be, they have searched everywhere in the palace, and around the woods, there hasn't been any trace of her yet not even her scent.

He would need to find her to ease the anger of the King, if she wasn't found before the next day, he wasn't sure of what the King will do.

"Beta Sebastian, we found her." A guard reported to the Beta outside the palace. He was about to organize some of the guards to begin a separate search.

Maybe search the palace once again, if they find her.

"You found the King's mate?" He asked. He looked relieved, at least he would be saved from the King's wrath.

"Is she the one?" He asked and narrowed his gaze at the guard.

Sebastian was aware that a lot of maidens had been claiming to be the missing mate of the King, even when they looked nothing like her.

The only time he had seen her was at the ball, and he had been busy finding information about her background, keeping up with his training with the soldiers, and setting up meetings for the King.

"She came back, she's with an older woman, who claimed to be her mother. She said she found her and brought her." The guard said.

"Let me see." He had to check if she was the one before he could allow them into the palace, if not, he would be the one to face the King, and if King Jaziel was angry nobody deserved to be there with him except he wanted a quick death.

Sebastian stared at the woman and the girl who was cowering beside her.

"Lift your head and look at me, I must confirm that you're the King's chosen mate before I can let you into the palace." He spoke. "Lift your head and look at me." He ordered, and Isabelle lifted her head and met with the gaze of Sebastian.

"Bring them into the palace!" Sebastian instructed the guard. "Open the gate for them."

"Yes, Beta." The guard bowed.

Sebastian ran back into the palace to inform the King that his mate had been found.

"Alpha King. The mighty ruler of the country, the King whom we serve, and we pledge our loyalty to, the King..."

"Enough!" Jaziel snorted from his study and opened the door. "Have you found her? I thought I warned you not to come back without her."

"She's here, Alpha." Sebastian bowed.

His grip tightened on the door. She was here in his palace?

"You found her?"

"Her Mother brought her back to the palace, I have asked the guard to bring them in."

Jaziel nodded and let go of the door, and faced the blank wall. He wanted to make sure he was calm before he approached her, he didn't want to scare her off with the dangerous expression he held.

She might decide to run away from him again.

"Where should I bring them?" Sebastian asked, he didn't move an inch from where he stood at the doorpost. The King didn't ask him to come in, he won't dare to take another step.

Though he was the closest to the King when he was angry, he kept his distance from him if he didn't want to get burned.

"Take them to the first floor, I will meet her there, and question her myself."

"Question her?" Sebastian mumbled.

Jaziel spun around, his hands crossed at his back. "Yes, I need to know why she made such a foolish decision to run away, I told her to stay till the mating ceremony, she could have heeded my words and not the words of the servants."

"Yes, Alpha," Sebastian muttered and stepped away from the door, he would get his chosen mate and her mother to the first floor.

They have been led into the palace and Sebastian instructed them to follow him, they would have a meeting with the King in a couple of minutes.

"Do we have to meet him, can't you take me to my room?" Isabelle snapped.

"The King requests that he must see you," Sebastian responded and gave her a side look. When has she become different? The tone of her voice was harsh and rude.

"How long do I have to wait? I'm tired we should meet him tomorrow."

"You don't say No to the King, and he's coming, please kindly wait," Sebastian stated politely, he didn't take his eyes off her, the girl from the ball couldn't even meet his gaze, she was timid and soft-spoken.

"We'll wait." Lady Georgia said, and Sebastian bowed at her and took his gaze off the King's supposed mate.

"He's here," Sebastian announced, and King Jaziel came down the stairs, his eyes met hers.
