Amira needed to find out if what she had seen was indeed true, if Lady Georgia was in prison but why? What has she done that the Alpha King kept her locked up?
She took off her apron, and hurried to the prison, she had to find out why, and know the reason they were locked up in the King's prison.
"You can't be there…" A guard had stopped her. She looked worried, and thought of what she would say to him.
"The King sent me." She answered, and lowered her gaze.
"King Jaziel sent you down here? Why?" The guard gave a slanted look, he wasn't sure if he could trust the lady before him.
"You should ask him when you see him, and if you do not allow me in, he will meet you himself, and ask you why you have refused to let me in. You must know that I am the King's chosen mate." Amira said that was the only card she had to play against him.
It did work.
The guard stepped aside, and opened the prison gate for her to go through.
When Amira entered prison, she didn't know where to find them. She had to be quick before the Alpha found out that she had lied and found her way here.
Her eyes darted across the side of the several prison door, scanning around, until she heard a sound, a sound that most likely sounded like her name.
Her head snapped around, closed to the last prison door, she had seen the silhouette of two persons in the background.
They leaned closer, and held the iron bars.
Amira made her way towards them.
"Amira!" Lady Georgia called, and ordered her to come close. "You have to get us out of here!"
"How did you get here?" Her timid voice asked.
"It was your fault that we are in this mess! Get us out, fool!" She snarled.
"How?" Amira muttered. She didn't know how she was going to get them out of here.
"Meet with the Alpha King, do I have to tell you everything? Are you that dumb? Tell the Alpha King to spare your family else you won't get married to him. That's what you've to do." She rasped, her eyes staring cruelly at Amira.
Amira bit her nails, she was nervous and scared at the same thing.
The King wasn't just anyone she could say that too, he was the king of empire, King Jaziel, she could barely look in his eyes and say that to him.
"Did you offend the King?" Amira asked. She wanted to know just as much, and find a way to plead for them.
"You are so stupid!" Isabelle spoke for the first time, her eyes flickered at Amira, though she was a bit relieved that Amira came back and there was a chance of them being alive. She wasn't going to let Amira know that, or see the grateful look she had in her eyes.
"If you don't talk to the King, he's going to kill us." Isabelle stressed.
Amira got even confused. "Why?"
"Why you fool!" Lady Georgia pulled her closer with the hem of her dress and knocked her head. "Do as we have asked. Else nobody will show you on the day you're getting married to him! You will have no family beside you." She pushed Amira roughly.
She staggered backwards, and felt a strong arm grasping her shoulders and steadying her movements. She remained balanced. Lowering her head to thank the stranger that held her.
She saw his long legs in a black pants, and her eyes went up slowly to his face, a gasp escaped her mouth.
"Alpha…" Her voice trailed off.
"Is this your family?" He asked.
Her head went down again. "Yes."
"Lady Georgia is my stepmother, and Isabelle is my sister." She replied and hesitated before adding. "Please don't harm them."
Lady Georgia eyed her, and Amira went on her knees, her small hand tugging on the pantsuit of Jaziel.
His eyes went to her, astonished at her act.
"Stand." He ordered.
"Not until you let them go." She remained adamant, still on her knees.
"I said stand." He growled.
Amira stood up, her lips quivering, she was close to tearing up. She could feel Jaziel gaze at her, he wasn't saying anything, he must've found out that she lied, and came here and she had gone through the files on his desk. Knowing that the Alpha King had done a background check on her, he should have known now that she was unfit to be beside him.
He exhaled slowly. "Look at me." His voice was calm when he spoke.
Amira shook her head, afraid that he would see the tears in her eyes.
He came closer, his hands went to her shoulder.
"Look at me." He ordered, he didn't want to use his Alpha tone on her, the girl was already frightened.
Amira lifted her eyes, and looked at him. Her eyes were glistening with tears, and it takes nothing for it to start raining down her face.
"I will let them go. For your sake, I will spare your family for their deceit and send them back home but they will never set foot in the palace again or my pack. I will give consideration only if you agree to my words…" He paused, and Amira blinked her eyes to push the tears back in.
He was going to set them free, that was what she wanted.
"I will do anything, Alpha King."
His hand let go of her shoulder, turned, and stared at Lady Georgia and Isabelle who had hid themselves in a corner.
"First, apologize to her. I won't speak again."
Lady Georgia crept out of the corner, her hands held the bars. "You know how much we love you, Amira. I'm sorry if I spoke harshly, it's because I have been here for long, and I'm sorry." She faked a cry.
"I'm sorry, Amira." Isabelle interjected.
Amira knew that it was all a pretense. The words they said held no meaning, and it meant nothing to her because she knew they weren't sincere.
She just wanted them to leave.
Hopefully a time will come, she will have her own stand, and they will be the ones to apologize for everything that they did to her, it wasn't now, this apology they rendered was nothing.
"Guards, open the gate and take them out, after we are out." Jaziel instructed the guard that had let Amira in, he stared at Amira, and nodded at the King.
"Yes, Alpha King."
Jaziel stared at Amira's hand, and took them, intertwining their fingers. Amira looked up at him in shock.
"I didn't have to force you to look at me now." He had a smile on his face, though it was there for only a second, as if he wanted her to see him smile.
Just her.
She turned away, her cheeks flushed. She used the other hand, and touched her cheeks, red and hot.
"Come." He pulled her along with him, heading out of the prison.
"You said you'll do anything."
Amira nodded.
"Speak, I want you to always speak when you're with me, don't be afraid of speaking. I know you speak a lot in your mind, you should say it to me."
"You don't speak much either, Alpha." She retorted, the words had flown out of her mouth, she didn't think before she said that to him.
He was holding back another smile.
"I'm sorry." She muttered and recollected herself.
"Don't be." He whispered.
"Maybe we should start from somewhere."
She arched her brow, a puzzled look appeared on her face.
"I want you to go a whole day, without saying sorry to me."
I blinked her eyes, how was that possible?
"Come." He led her through the stairs, this wasn't the path to the palace, she didn't remember taking the route.
The stairs were very long, and she was almost getting tired of climbing.
"Here." Jaziel said when they came to an open space. "This is a tower from here, you can see the whole Neverther Pack in the North." He gestured.
"Why are you showing me this?" She asked.
"I want you to be more confident."
She opened her mouth to speak, and closed it again. She didn't know what to say.
"I am not just the Alpha of a pack but the whole Empire of the werewolves, I rule everything and everyone and the richest in the Empire, I have gold, diamond, and a whole lot of money."
Was he here to show her all his wealth and boast of himself? Amira thought.
"And you're going to be the mate of that King, you'll be second in command of everything, a queen."
The thought of it terrifies her. She just wanted a mate that will love and cherish her, she wasn't after any riches or wealth or the strongest wolf.
She just wants to be someone's weakness.
"You shouldn't be afraid of anyone."
But she was scared of him.
