Chereads / The Alpha King’s Chosen Mate / Chapter 17 - A way to please her

Chapter 17 - A way to please her

Jaziel had woken up when her hand left him, the kind of calmness that he felt when she was close to him, he couldn't understand it, his wolf had gone completely calm, it had been restless since last night and it was what kept him up.

He didn't know what to do anymore, he left his bedroom and came to his study to work. He was agitated as well, and that was the reason he sent everyone away that came to his door, and rejected the breakfast as well.

When Amira had knocked, he couldn't send her away. His thoughts have raced back to the kiss that he shared with her.

No, he didn't share a kiss with her, she was the one who had kissed him all of a sudden and she hadn't told him why she had kissed him.

He wanted to ask but he didn't know how he was going to bring it up.

The tea had helped but her presence helped him more, he couldn't deny the feeling anymore. Amira was his mate, he could feel it.

His wolf felt it too, it wasn't something they could deny any longer but she doesn't know.

The look in her eyes shows that she doesn't recognize the bond between them.

He led her to the couch beside him and slept, he wanted her close that was just the point of it. When she stood up from the chair, he knew because his eyes had fluttered and when she came back with the covers, and covered him up.

He had seen her when she moved over to his desk, and when she hurried out of his study room.

He knew she was up to something, he laid there for a while, about five minutes or so before he stood up and went after her.

"Alpha King." The guard at the prison gate greeted. Jaziel stood before them. "Did she come here?" He asked, the guards were too frightened to question him and ask who it was that the King had referred to.

"My chosen mate, did you see her?"

"Yes, Alpha King, she went in here." A guard replied.

"Why did you allow her in?"

"She said you…"

He raised his hand and stopped the guard from talking any further, Amira must have used his name to get in.

He knew what to do and the reason why she had come here must be because of the woman and daughter that had sneaked into the pack with their deceit.

Sebastian had brought back a report that Amira lived with them.

He didn't seem like she was happy in that home, and the way they treated her, he had almost thought Amira was the servant of the lady's daughter and not her sister.

Could they be the reason why she was so scared?

So frightened to speak.

He wanted to know what that Lady and her daughter had done to her, so he asked his Beta to search deeper if he could find anything of how the girl had lived in that house.

He came just when she was being pushed, his hand gripped her quickly, pulling her back to her feet, making sure she could stand firm on her feet before he had let go.

He would find out what secret she had hidden, and what she had done to Amira, and then he would make her pay for it.

"Let them go." He ordered, it was just for a while, and he needed to watch their movement.

This Lady had come into the palace with her daughter for pure manipulation and he had almost fallen for it.

His heart clenched when he saw the look on Amira's face, he couldn't do anything to hurt her or make her cry.

If he could, he would want to always see the smile on her face, the reason he took her to the tower was plainly that.

But her eyes glinted with something else he couldn't decipher, what else does this young lady want?

"How long have you been King?" She popped the question, he stared at her as if he was trying to remember when, but it has been over a decade.

"Since I was fourteen."

"Weren't you scared?"

He chuckled softly, Amira amused him in some ways. "I never knew what it was to be scared. I was trained to be prepared for anything."

"It must have been tough."

If it was, he couldn't say but he had managed quite well.

"I don't think the pack members would accept me." She blurted out, and that got attention, he stared down at the woman he was towering over.

"They don't have a choice. I have already decided to have you as my mate."

She spun, and withdrew her hand from his grip. The warmth he felt was gone. "It's not going to be easy for them to accept me."

"I don't care."

"I do!" She had raised her voice.

He was taken aback by the sound of her voice, he didn't know she could sound louder than this.

"They won't do anything to you, are you scared of them?"

Her throat felt dry, he had seen it in her eyes, she was scared of them.

"I will not let anyone harm you, do not be bothered by the thought or do you not want it?" With two long strides he had closed the distance between them. His fingers went to her jawline, and he tilted them upward, and her eyes were fixed on him.

"Do you not want to be my mate?" He asked.

Her eyes fluttered, this was an escape for her. An escape from the cruelty she felt in her pack, and her family.

Here, the hate was less and they wouldn't dare to touch her because she was with the King.

That was what made it different, and King Jaziel wasn't there in her pack but he was here.

"What do you say?" He waited for a response from her, and his heart had throbbed while he waited, anxiously that her reply would be negative. He won't be able to take that.

"Yes."

"Yes?" He urged her to speak further.

"I will be your mate."

"Then, it's settled." He muttered, and turned away from her with a smile on his face. He needed to make Sebastian start the preparations for the mating ceremony, he wanted her to add some weight as well and the scars on her body healed.

It might take a month, and he was willing to wait that long just for her.

"Can we go back?" Amira asked.

He nodded, and took her hand in his again, he gave it a little squeeze, when he did that, she felt a little assured in her heart.

That the King would protect her.

He led her down the stairs that they had taken, he didn't need to ask her how old she was, he knew she had just clocked eighteen. He had seen it in the files that Sebastian brought to his study room.

But those were things written in files, he wanted to know her and not through some text but through her.

"I would call you for dinner. Have some rest." He let go of her hand in front of her door. "You mustn't be in the kitchen, get some rest, and you'll be called for dinner." He added, and his hand patted her hair.

"Go in." His hand dropped from her hair, and he waited for her to get into her room. Amira opened her door, bowed at the King, and entered the door slamming the door behind her.

Jaziel smiled softly, but when he turned to take the stairs back to his study, the smile had worn out of his face.

"Sebastian."

"King Jaziel." Sebastian responded with a bow. He walked to his front desk, and dropped some paperwork on it.

"See to it that they return to their pack safely."

"Yes, King Jaziel." He went back to his stand. "Those are the files that have to do with the activities of the pack."

Jaziel nodded but he didn't take a look at them.

"Inform the council of elders, we would be having the mating ceremony and it has to be in a month's time. They should get ready and you'll send a letter to Amira's father. Make sure he's the one that received it."

Sebastian scratched the back of his head. "Does that mean I would be the one to deliver the letter myself?" He asked.

"I thought you're smart."

Sebastian sighed, he should have thought of that.

"The letter shows that I am about to take his daughter as my mate, and he might be part of the ceremony."

Sebastian bowed. "I will do that, Alpha King."

"You can take your leave, I will write on the letter, and send for you to come get it."

"Hope you won't threaten him, Alpha King."

Jaziel lifted his head from the paper, he had picked up a pen already.

"What else would I say?" His brows are knitted together. "He has no choice but to give me his daughter, he can't say no to me."

Sebastian sighed, knowing his Alpha, the letter would be filled with threat and Amira might not find it appealing at all.

"Do you need my help?"

Jaziel snorted, "I don't need the help of a Beta to write a letter."

"It's a different kind of letter Alpha."

"You're not as experienced as I am are you? You are not married either."

"I do have an idea. Alpha."

Jaziel eyed him.

Sebastian leaned closer before he spoke. "Don't you intend to please your chosen mate?"

He wanted that, he wanted to please Amira.

"Will it please her?"

"Certainly." Sebastian grinned, his eyes had almost escaped the smile that had curved at the corner of Jaziel's mouth.
