Kelvin and Selena arrived at the first floor of the building. Leaving the elevator, they walked to the parking lot where Kelvin had parked his car and unlocking his car with the key, he entered and sat comfortably on the drivers seat.
Selena stood at the door just looking at him as she was confused at what was going on. Why did he tell me to check my time and where is he even going?'
"Get in" Kelvin said and brought her back from her thoughts.
She slowly opened the door and entered the passenger seat. "Sir, please where are we going?" She asked as she could not contain her curiosity.
"Close the door." Kelvin said ignoring her question. She obeyed him and closed the door.
"Oh shit! I forgot my phone. Can I go get it?" She asked. She didn't know where she was going and somehow even though she acted normal, she still had fear for this man.
She was uncomfortable being alone with him and worse still she wasn't even with her phone incase anything happens. "What could possibly happen?" She said in her mind.
As if sensing her discomfort and hearing her thoughts, Kelvin spoke. "I'm not trying to kidnap you so why do you need your phone?" He looked at her and their eyes locked on for some moment.
"We're going to have lunch that's all so don't get any other idea." He said and broke away from her gaze. "Tighten your seat belt." He added and started his car.
As Kelvin pulled away from the company's premises, the atmosphere inside his luxurious car remained charged with a palpable tension. The rhythmic hum of the engine provided an odd contrast to the silence that enveloped them.
Selena gazed out of the window as the scenery of their surroundings zipped by. She had no idea where Kelvin was taking her or what his intentions were, but what she only knew was that they were going to have lunch and she felt compelled to follow.
"Is there anything you want to know?" Kelvin asked, his voice sounded calm. From the start of the drive till now he has been observing Selena, he could sense the tension in the aura that she gave out, but why, he wanted to know.
"No... not at all." Selena stammered. Of course she had plenty of things to say and questions to ask but she couldn't bring herself to say a word.
'Why am I even asking her? Even if she has something to say what could possibly be my concern.' Shutting down the thoughts in his head, Kelvin fixed his eyes back on the road.
Kelvin stopped his car at a five-star restaurant that was few miles away from the company's building. He parked his car at the parking lot and came down from it. Selena followed him as they walked into the restaurant.
Immediately they entered, a young man of about 19 years of age walked towards them. He was wearing a uniform that was given to the staff of the hotel. "Good morning boss." He said and bowed respectfully.
Selena, was surprised at what she heard 'boss'. Which restaurant were they at as because of her thoughts she didn't bother checking the name of the restaurant and just followed Kelvin quietly.
Kelvin gave a slight nod to the staff and turned to Selena. "Let's go seat over there." She followed him and they sat down in a space away from prying eyes.
'What's going on with him? Why is he acting nice all of a sudden just after making me stand for more than an hour in the meeting? And what is with his calm expression.' Selena was getting more confused and curious at every action Kelvin did.
His acts now were far different from earlier in the morning. "Jeez, Selena don't kill yourself with over- thinking about unnecessary things.' She scolded herself.
"Which hotel is this?" She finally summoned her courage to ask.
"The Sanz hotel. Are you surprised?" Kelvin said with a straight and relaxed face.
The waiter came to their table and asked for their orders and Kelvin took the menu and looked through it. "I'll have Spanish Bolognese sauce and spaghetti." He said and the waiter turned to Selena waiting for her order.
"Just give me coffee." She said with a polite smile on her lips.
"Okay ma'am, I'll go get your orders. The waiter said after taking their orders and retreated to get it.
"Coffee?" Selena heard Kelvin's voice after the waiter left.
"Yes, I'm not hungry." Selena replied but it was all a lie. She was hungry but doesn't having any appetite for anything. She has an uneasy feeling within her and she couldn't put her finger on it.
"Okay," was all kelvin said before taking his phone out of his pocket and started pressing it.
The air between them returned to a silent tension as neither of them said a word. Their orders were brought to them and they both dived into their business as Selena was sipping her coffee trying to calm down her chaotic mind and racing heart, while Kelvin dropped his phone and began eating his lunch without uttering a word.
Meanwhile, at another corner of the restaurant, a set of scheming eyes directed it gaze towards Kelvin and Selena's direction.
A beautiful young woman, sat at a corner of the restaurant with two other beautiful women. Their skin were flawless and anybody could mistake them for a celebrity endowed in the modeling world.
Lana Williams, a woman with striking beauty wore a silver dress that was uniquely cut at the front giving it a special style. Her long blonde hair flowed down her shoulders and her big expressive eyes added more admiration to her.
She was eating and chatting with her friends when she noticed two souls walk into the building. Not taking her eyes off them, she watched them take their seats and place their orders.
"What's he doing here?" She whispered to no one in particular.
"Huh! who's that?" Her friends asked as they heard her question. Following her gaze they saw who she was looking at.
"Don't tell me you still have feelings for that guy?" Alicia said.
Lana, Alicia and Derby, a circle of friends that seemed inseparable since their high school days. They shared their thoughts, opinion and secrets among themselves but the only secret Lana kept from them was the fact that she is a werewolf.
Though she had thought many times to tell them about it but she shunned the thought down. She couldn't imagine how her friends would react if they knew and she wasn't ready to lead a lonely life.
Ignoring Alicia's question, she kept on looking at Kelvin.
She knew who kelvin really was and the enmity between his circle and the circle she belonged to. She knows she wasn't suppose to have feelings for Kelvin but yet she can't kept on admiring him.
'Why can't I have him?I don't care if he's mine, at least we weren't even born when the two circles started their hatred. Why do I have to give up my feelings just because of some damn hatred.' She complained in her head.
"Lana?" Derby called and tapped her.
"Yes," Lana said as her thoughts were interrupted.
"Are you even listening to what we've been saying since?" Derby said with raised brows.
"What is that?" Lana asked with her eyes wide open.
"Oh my gosh! Are you for real? So you weren't listening. Alicia has been saying something and you're just here lost in your thoughts or something..." Derby released a sigh.
"What's so special about that guy? We get it that he's rich and handsome but he's kind of aloof and doesn't suit you." She asked.
"I have feelings for him so isn't that enough reason for him to be special?" Lana fired Derby with a question to answer her question.
"What..." Derby tried speaking but was cut shut by Lana.
"I love him." She said with finality in her voice.
