Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: The Deal

Inside a large living room, well painted in white colour and the walls decorated with picture frames of different kind. Kelvin sat down on his white couch facing directly to the furnace. His eyes shone the reflection of the flames and his legs crossed together.

He was wearing a red robe that made him look like a king. Sipping his wine slowly, a thought came to his head but he pushed it away when he heard a voice.

"Good morning sir, sorry for disturbing you." Robert said.

Robert, a middle age man of integrity and sincerity. He was Kelvin butler and has been working for Kelvin since when he was 32.

With a respectful tone he said, " There's someone who wishes to see you. He said his name is Mr Frederick Riley."

Kelvin, just about to sip his wine, he paused and his face darkened. He knew Mr Riley but why? Why was he here and even very early? Mr Riley was the least person kelvin ever expected to see right now. Dropping the cup on his side table, he replied, "Where is he?"

"Outside." Robert gave a short reply.

Kelvin stood up, leaving Robert in the living room he went to the door and opened it. He paused as his eyes fell on Frederick, the man who he hated. Without saying a word, Kelvin sent a kick towards Frederick which he barely dodged.

Frederick had expected this action from Kelvin. He knew that Kelvin would do anything to vent his anger out so he prepared. His thoughts were interrupted as kelvin fist brushed through his face.

"I'm not here to fight." Frederick said as he tried avoiding Kelvin attack. With a single blow, Kelvin sent Frederick flying to the ground.

Frederick winced in pain as he coughed out blood. "Please listen to me Kelvin. I'm not here to cause you trouble." he was barely audible.

A devilish smile formed on Kelvin face as he walked towards Frederick. "Trouble? You speak like I'll let you cause me more trouble than you've already done."

Kelvin eyes blazed with pure golden flames, his nails grew long and sharp and it could slice through air.

Seeing Kelvin transformation, Frederick knew it was going to get worst for him if he doesn't leave here or block the attack, but before he could think of blocking, he saw Kelvin move, his speed like that of lightening and the next second he felt kelvin nails piercing his neck.

If he was an ordinary man he would have been dead by now but now he was grateful for not being an ordinary human. Even though the pain was too much, he was determined to endure it and accomplish his mission before leaving here.

"Kelvin, please listen to me. I did not kill your father, Mr Williams was the one who killed him." Frederick stammered. He needed to clear things out with Kelvin if he wanted his daughter to live with this man.

Hearing what Frederick said, Kelvin felt weak, his grip on Frederick neck loosened and he staggered backwards. Frederick was thankful that his words had effect if not he would have been dead by now.

"Your father told me not to tell you how he died. He knew if you found out what happened that day the hatred between the Zahit Pack and the Rykebreach Pack would continue. Your father wanted to unite the circles together but he was murdered." Frederick said

He had promised Kelvin father never to reveal this secret to Kelvin but right now this was the only way he could save himself and probably his family. He needed Kelvin help and this was a way of getting it.

"Mr Williams?..." Looking at Mr Frederick in a stoic expression, " Peter's father? Was it Peter's father?" He yelled

"Yes, Peter's father. I promised your father I was never going to tell you."

"Then why are you telling me now? Answer me?" Kelvin confusion building up, His mind was in chaos and he needed answers.

"I need your help." Trying to stand up, "Peter sent his men to attack me and my family and my daughter is the target...." Frederick was interrupted by Kelvin mocking laughter.

"My help?" With a sarcastic tone, "What makes you think I'll help you and protect your family?"

"I just need you to protect my daughter that's all. I can take care of myself and my wife." Frederick was already on his feet and he placed his hand on the wall in order to support his shaking legs.

"Are you really pathetic because the Frederick I know is not a weakened man who's unable to protect his family. Your strength matched that of my father when he was alive, so what happened to you?"

"Love..., that's what happened to me. I love my family and I'll do anything to protect them but I'm not the strong werewolf you use to know when you were a child. Just like you've grown up and took after your father so as I've grown old and weak." Frederick staggered to Kelvin front. He looked at Kelvin's eyes.

"Please protect my daughter." He pleaded

"You still haven't answered my question. What makes you think I'll protect her?"

"Should that really be the question?" Gauging Kelvin expression. "I think your question should be, why is Peter after my daughter."

"Then you tell me..., Why is your daughter Peter's target?" Kelvin asked. His nails returned back to normal and his calm expression was present. Waiting patiently, he heard Frederick reply and his face darkened. "The Crescent mark..."

"What do you mean the crescent mark?" Kelvin curiosity building up. "Only my mother had that mark...." Raising his head up, Kelvin laughed in realization. "Your daughter has the mark!"

"Yes she does and that's why Peter is after her."

"But how? I thought my mother said the elixir was stolen? How did your daughter have that mark?" Kelvin head flooded with questions he needed answers to.

"It wasn't stolen but was gifted. Your mother gifted it to my daughter...," With a soft sigh he continued, "She said she saw potential in my daughter and you know your mother powers better than anyone."

"Potentials?" Kelvin scoffed. "My mother gave your daughter her powers because she's an hybrid and not because she has potentials." He hated when he's reminded of how powerful his mother was.

If his mother was that powerful like they said why couldn't she save herself and his father. She always had a foresight on the future but yet she couldn't see her future. what kind of power was that, it was only a bondage.

'Mum, I hate you.' Kelvin said inwardly.

"I'll protect your daughter if she lives with me. That's the only way I will go in a deal with you." Frederick heard Kelvin condition and without a second thought he replied.

"It's a deal."
