"Live with me." Selena heard his words and became tongue tied. Her eyes rolled in surprise at his outburst. "Live with you?" She repeated in her head.
Kelvin, not minding her expression continued, "If you want to remain an intern in my company then you have to accept my condition."
Selena opened her mouth to speak but no words came out of it, she was still shocked and didn't even know how to reply him.
'Why isn't she saying anything?' Kelvin asked inwardly. "Fine let's see if you will still remain silent after this."
"Miss Riley, your internship is terminated." He said sternly.
"What?" Selena finally found her voice when she heard what he said.
'I see, so you are only sensitive when it comes to your career! tsk tsk, what an annoying brat!' Standing up from his chair, Kelvin walked towards his office sofa. He laid down on it and closed his eyes. "You have five seconds to answer. Either you accept or you go to another company."
"One, two...," He started counting.
"Can I please talk to my parents about it?" Selena said. She couldn't just accept without letting her parents know. What would they think of her? Living with a man she doesn't even know, No she has to control this situation.
"No." He said bluntly.
'What the heck. Hey! who do you really think you are to give me such an absurd condition?' Selena wanted to speak out but she couldn't. She couldn't afford to get on his bad side any further.
'No, no, no...., why did I say a word last night?' She cried in her head.
"Fine, I accept your condition. There's nothing much I can do anyway." She turned her head towards him.
"You can go to another company. I'm not forcing you to stay here so stop saying there's nothing you can do."
"Why do I feel like you are trying to send me out of your company?" She said in an irritated tone.
Kelvin opened his eyes, turned his head towards Selena direction and shot her a cold piercing glare which made her frozen on her seat.
Selena gulped down her saliva as she coughed. 'Oh God, am I really going to live with this man?'
"Go to the secretary's office. Settle there, I'll call you when I need you." He commanded.
"But.." Stopping herself from saying something else. She nodded and left after saying a thank you.
"Mr Riley, your daughter is really interesting!" He whispered with a smirk on his face after she had left.
Meanwhile inside a dimly lit room, the sound of punching and kicking filled the air.
"I gave you a simple job but you couldn't do it." Peter said as he landed another blow on one of his men.
He was furious, his eyes blazing red, he was hitting his three men without mercy. As he was about to hit another of his men, he felt a grip on his arm.
"Do you want to kill them?" Ethan asked.
Ethan Hart, a man of average height and calm demeanor. He was slim with a well built physique. He was Peter's friend and the only one who could keep his anger in check.
Peter gave Ethan a cold glare. "Should I kill you instead?"
Avoiding his glare like it had no effect on him, Ethan turned to the men Peter was hitting. "Go to your quarters and get yourself treated."
The three men fell on their kneels with their head bowed and one of them spoke. "We're sorry we messed up. He refused to tell us where his daughter was but we promise next time we'll get the job done."
"You better do that next time if not, I can't guarantee your head not rolling off your neck." Ethan said before Peter could say anything. He knew what Peter already wanted to say so he beat him to it.
"Thank you Sir..., Thank you Boss" The men greeted in a chorus, stood up and left Ethan and Peter alone.
Immediately his men left Peter landed a blow on Ethan's face. Ethan stumbled back in pain, "Shit! What was that for?" Ethan said seeming annoyed.
"You stopped me from teaching those punks a lesson so if you are angry go and vent your anger on them." Peter hissed.
He went to his wine cabinet, took a Spanish cocktail and poured it into two goblets. Leaving one goblet on the stand, he took the other and sat down on his couch.
"Do you want to keep following me with your gaze or you'll have a drink and tell me why you're here?" Peter said in a low tone that held power.
"Alway a piece of shit..," Ethan muttered under his breath. He took the drink on the stand and sat down opposite Peter.
"Don't you think you're taking this too far?" Ethan asked
"Ethan, if you want to tell me something say it and stop beating around the bush." Peter knew what Ethan was talking about but he wanted him to say it straightforward.
"Mr Riley's daughter. Shouldn't you at least try to get her in a right way rather than going this way." Ethan sipped his drink. "You might end up causing trouble for yourself if you continue like this."
Peter laughed in a wryly manner. "Trouble? C'mon Ethan don't act pathetic. Tell me what can Mr Riley possibly do that would be troublesome for me."
Ethan sighed and shook his head. This friend of his is a stubborn man he but yet he cant let him do whatever he wanted to do. Even though sometimes he hated Peter's guts, he just kept up with him because of how he felt for his sister.
Ethan had always had feelings for Lana right from when they were in college but yet she never showed any feelings for him and he knew why.
"Are you forgetting that Mr Riley you speak so lightly of is a member of the Zahit Pack? And to make it worst, he was the former second in command to the the man your father killed." Dropping his cup on the table, he looked at Peter with piercing gaze. "What do you think will happen if Kelvin is involved?"
Peter's face darkened and he gnashed his teeth in anger. He hated whenever Kelvin's name was mentioned. Clenching his fist, he stood up and walked towards Ethan. He stood infront of him and grabbed his neck.
"Say his name again and I'll make sure you never say a word again." Peter threatened. His eyes were blazing red like flames made from hell, his calm composure was no where to be found and right now he was losing himself.
"We both hate Kelvin but we can't deny the fact that he's strong. I'm not afraid of going in a war with him but I'm preventing a lost battle before a fight." Holding Peter's hand, he removed it from his neck. "I heard Mr Riley's daughter applied for an internship in Kelvin's company, I think if we want her on our side we have to make her close to us...."
"What are you trying to say?" Peter cut in
"Offer her an appointment in your company and give her a position that will make her significant and that way she won't think twice before moving to your company." Ethan said calmly
"Where the hell did you even get such idea from? Who told you?"
"I have someone in Kelvin's company. He's keeping watch for me."Ethan replied plainly.
"How long have you had a spy there?" Peter said and creased his brows.
"Long enough to tell you to be patient." Picking up his drink, Ethan gulped it down in a go. "Kelvin won't know what hit him so just trust me and take things slow." he added.
