The next morning, the apartment bedroom was in nothing but a sorry state. Clothes and stuff were littered around the place but the two young women who lived in it were too lazy to do any cleaning.
It was more like, one was too hungover to clean and the other was too sleepy to care, hence they were both tangled together in bed, disregarding the look of the bedroom.
"Urgh! I'm so hungover, oww, my head hurts," With a pillow stuck in between her legs, Leah hissed as she massaged her forehead, totally forgetting about yesterday's event.
But there was someone who could never forget, of course, it was Eloise. The only thing in her sleepy head was what had happened yesterday she even had a nightmare with Ruth in it.
"That crazy bitch, I should have punched her in the face in my nightmare, how dare she show up?! Argh!" Eloise said in her sleepy state while vigorously punching the bed.
"Huh? What the hell?" Leah asked, slightly lifting her head from the pillow, trying to take a peek at Eloise's face.
"How about you just shut up, you chicken. And get your chicken legs away from me." Eloise responded, leaving Leah even more confused. Of course, Eloise could never forget what Leah did last night, how could she?
"Yo, I'm too hungover to understand you this beautiful morning, I'll just ignore you for now."
"Tell me what's so beautiful about this morning?"
"Huh? Look how bright and wonderful the morning is, it's so full of..." However, she trailed off and took another peek at Eloise and seeing how her eyes were shut tight, Leah was forced to roll her eyes at her. "If you'd just open your damn eyes, you would see the beauty of the morning light." And with that, she laid back on the bed.
And Eloise did just that, she finally opened her eyes, slowly but immediately shut them due to the harsh rays of the sun directly on her eyes.
She sighed and sat up on the bed and opened her eyes again but she had to squint them to adjust to it's brightness.
Eloise stayed seated on the bed for a while, choosing to ignore Leah who wouldn't stop groaning. She stretched and yawned and afterwards stood up from the bed and that was when she noticed the state of the bedroom.
It was in a total mess, Eloise sighed with her hands akimbo, already feeling annoyed.
"Ahh! This is so frustrating, I'll have to clean up, I've got no choice."
It took Eloise almost an hour to get the whole apartment cleaned up and by the time she was done, she was exhausted and was left with two bags of trash that needed to be disposed of.
She dropped them by the entrance door and walked into the bedroom and there laid Leah sprawled on the couch.
'She already moved from the bed?' Eloise asked while already feeling helpless and not knowing what to do with Leah.
Choosing to ignore her, Eloise went to grab her phone and after searching everywhere for it she found it and announced, "I'll be out to dispose of the trash..."
Hearing no response from Leah, she shook her head and just left choosing not to bother her any further.
However, Eloise got to where the trash bags were kept, she bent over to pick them but the moment she rose back up, she was welcomed by the sight of a dishevelled-looking Leah standing just beside her.
"Oh my! You startled me, what's with you?" Eloise exclaimed, her eyes drinking in the sight of Leah's hair like a bed nest, pale-looking face and dark circles under her eyes, in conclusion, she was a mess.
"Don't tell me you are coming with me, looking like that?" Eloise pointed out, giving Leah an up-and-down look.
"Nope!" Leah answered almost immediately.
"Then what?" Eloise dropped the trash bags down and folded her hands across her chest, waiting for a response. Because there was no way she would leave the house with Leah tagging along looking like a forbidden fruit.
"Can't you see the state I'm in? I need a hangover drink, I'm going out to get one cuz I don't feel so good right now." Leah explained, not liking the look her best friend directed at her, she wasn't even looking that bad 'Hopefully not' she prayed in her head.
"Fine but keep your distance, people might misunderstand," Eloise warned and went on to pick up the trash bag and together they left with Leah doing the complete opposite of Eloise's words.
Eloise was done disposing of the trash bags and was ready to go back to their apartment when she felt a grip on her hands, with a frown, she turned and saw it was Leah holding onto her hands, stopping her from moving any further.
"Now what? Let go of me."
"Have you forgotten I said I need to get a hangover drink?" Leah asked, with no attempt to release Eloise from her hold.
"And so? What's stopping you? Go get it if you want to." Eloise responded, struggling to get out of Leah's grip. Leah was beginning to get on her nerves.
"I don't want to go by myself, accompany me... please?" Leah pleaded while tugging at Eloise.
"Why a drink? You can just have coffee or take some vitamins or a pain reliever, they are good for hangovers." Eloise suggested while scratching her head, it was just too early to put up with Leah's drama.
"I knew it, you hate me so much, you can't even accompany me to..." Leah was ready to complain like she was being mistreated but Eloise interrupted before she could go further.
"Shut the hell up! Fine, I'll go with you but keep your distance, I'm serious. She warned and Leah nodded with a bright smile.
"Gosh, you look scary smiling with that face of yours," Eloise stated dramatically, making Leah's smile completely disappear.
They got to a convenience store close by and stepped in. Just when they were stepping in, a young man in a baseball cap also stepped out.
He had a phone in his hands, it was constantly vibrating, and someone was calling him.
And as much as he wanted to ignore the call, he couldn't.
