Leslie turned her head in the direction Nex point and saw a group of four people – three men
and one woman – engaged in a tense discussion.
"We haven't found any animals yet," one of the men said.
Another chimed in, his tone desperate. "At this rate, we won't be able to meet our quota."
The third man suggested, "In that case, we might have to sell you."
The woman stopped in her tracks, shock and hurt evident in her voice. "How can you say that?
I'm your sister."
The brother replied. "It's better than all of us dying. You know that. Besides, Asura won't kill you."
The woman's response was filled with dread. "But I'd rather be dead than let that happen. He
already said we'll be used like slaves to serve those he deems useful."
"A woman like me... I'll end up as nothing more than a sex slave. And I would rather die than
endure that."
"Just imagine how many men would treat me like a toy."
Her voice trembled, and her body shuddered at the thought...
The brother replied, "Why else do you think we're out here? We'll do our best to make sure it
doesn't come to that."
However, the other men in the group turned to the sister.
"In that case, wouldn't it be better to do it with someone you know first rather than a stranger?"
Infuriated, the brother struck the man on the head.
"Do you think I was serious? I would kill you before I let that happen! "
"I only said that to make her take this hunt more seriously."
The last man in the group swiftly raised his finger to his lips. "Shhh... Look, we're lucky."
His eyes fixed on something in the distance
The group turns their gaze, and they see a creature grazing nearby.
It has thick, deep brown fur, with two ivory curved horns jutting out from both sides of its head.
It stands nearly six feet tall at the shoulder and stretches almost ten feet in length. As it grazed
calmly on the grass
"Isn't that a bison?" one of them murmured in surprise.
The woman in the group voiced her confusion, "What is a bison doing in the middle of a forest?"
Her brother replied. "Does that matter? "
"Look at the size of it! If we can take that down, we'll probably have enough to meet our quota
for the rest of the quest."
They exchanged determined glances. And silently, they began to move closer to the bison.
Leslie whispered. "Let's leave, Nex. Let them have this one."
"We've already caught a few rabbits. There might be more Bison in the area."
Nex, his gaze still fixed on the group. "Don't worry, I just want to check their abilities. We'll let
them have the bison."
Meanwhile, the men in the group prepared themselves for the hunt.
One of the men pulled out a knife, while another retrieved an axe.
The brother brandished a machete.
He turned to his sister, who was holding a rifle.
"Don't shoot unless it's absolutely necessary. The sound will scare it off, and it will run away."
The woman nods, crouching into a shooting position, her rifle targeting the bison.
Meanwhile, the men dispersed, moving carefully through the tall grass, coordinating to encircle
the bison.
Once in position, they leaped forward at the same time.
The bison, sensing the imminent danger, responded with a powerful growl.
Its eyes flashed with a wild, primal intelligence, and it rose onto its front hooves.
The hooves began to glow, and with a forceful stomp, it sent a shockwave...
The men were thrown backward...
Seizing the moment, the bison lunged with astonishing speed, its horn piercing through the torso of the axe-wielding man until it collided with a tree.
BAM!
The man impaled and, in shock, gurgled blood.
Summoning the last of his strength, he swung his axe towards the bison's head.
However, instead of the axe cleaving through flesh, it felt like striking a wall of steel.
The impact reverberated through his arms...
The man's failed attack only caused the bison to react more fiercely.
With a sudden burst of strength, the bison hurled the grievously wounded axe-wielder towards
his companion, the one armed with a knife.
The two men collided with a sickening crunch, blood spurting into the air as the sound of bones
breaking filled the atmosphere.
In the midst of the chaos, the brother with the machete, realizing the grave danger they were in,
yelled out urgently, "RUN, Circe!"
Circe, who had been crouched in her shooting position, immediately sprang up.
Without a backward glance, she sprinted away from the scene, her instinct for survival
overtaking everything else.
Her brother, left alone to face the bison, locked eyes with the formidable beast.
His gaze was one of determination mixed with fear.
He lunged forward with his machete, aiming to strike the bison.
In response, the bison let out a deep growl, its horns glowing.
Suddenly, the air around its horns compressed and shot out like bullets toward the brother.
BAM! BAM! BAM!
Each impact hit the brother with brutal force, creating shockwaves that tore through his skin and
shattered his bones.
His screams pierced the air as pain overwhelmed him, leading to his collapse to the ground...
Nex, restrained by Leslie, sau. "Why won't you let me save them?"
Leslie held firm as she replied. "They're part of the Asura group. There's a high chance they'll
become our enemies. "
"You yourself told me not to trust Faust too easily. It's the same."
Nex's expression was conflicted, "Not trusting someone is different from letting them die."
Leslie shook her head, her expression grim.
"Nex, we're in a different world now. Did you see how her sister ran away without even looking
back?"
Nex sighed. "Well, they're gone now. Let's focus on the bison."
Leslie looked at him with concern. "Are you sure you can take it down?"
Nex nodded. "Don't worry. I want to try out that technique Faust mentioned earlier."
Leslie releases her hand. "Be careful, Nex,"
