Nex nodded, then focused his attention on the bison, which was now chomping on the remains of the brother's body.
As Nex came out from his hiding spot, the bison lifted its head.
Its eyes locked onto Nex.
Nex, holding his makeshift spear, pointed it toward the bison.
The bison snorted, a puff of smoke escaping its nostrils, its hooves scraping against the grass...
Its horns began to glow as the air started swirling around its body.
The bison lunged forward in a sudden burst of speed, transforming into a projectile akin to an air bullet, hurtling straight toward Nex.
Leslie watched, biting her lower lip. 'I hope what Faust said works. I don't want to keep being a burden to him,'
Nex, meanwhile, recalled Faust's advice: 'Focus the tearing zone around the edge.'
Concentrating intently, the spear tip begins to tremble and vibrate with an unseen energy.
The air around the spear's tip seemed to warp and distort.
With a yell, he thrust the spear forward...
As the bison charged, it sensed the threat emanating from the spear.
In a desperate attempt, it forcefully used its back hooves to change direction.
However, it was too late for a complete evasion.
The vibrating tip of Nex's spear sliced through the bison's back hoof, cutting it clean off.
The bison let out a pained grunt, blood spurting wildly from the severed limb as it fell to the ground.
Despite the severe injury, the bison remained standing on its three remaining legs, its eyes burning with anger and pain.
Its muscles tensed and bulged as it closed the wound on its leg.
The air around the bison began to spin rapidly, creating a visible vortex of wind.
Its eyes turned red…
Nex's expression changed, a wild exhilaration taking over as he laughed.
"Come on, don't die so quickly."
Leslie watched him, a sigh escaping her lips. 'He seems like a different person now,'
Memories of their past experiences flashed through her mind, causing her to wonder,
'Is this change because of his abilities? Or has this side of him always been there?'
Meanwhile, the bison, enraged and in pain, launched a series of air bullets at Nex.
In response, Nex sprinted forward, his movements almost a blur.
He ducked, letting one bullet pass over him, then twisted his neck to avoid another.
With a swift motion, he swiped his spear through the air, and a shockwave exploded as he struck one of the bison's air bullets head-on.
The air around Nex erupted with a loud boom.
The resulting shockwave sent gusts of wind spiraling outwards, causing his hair to flutter wildly around him.
A wild, almost primal energy emanates from Nex.
He laughed, a sound filled with exhilaration and adrenaline.
In one fluid move…
He began by lowering his shoulder. His arm pulled back, gripping the spear tightly.
The muscles in his arm and shoulder tensed, coiling like a spring, ready to unleash his gathered force.
His eyes narrowed, focusing on the bison. Then, with a sudden release, he threw the spear forward.
The air split apart with a sonic boom as the spear shot forward.
It moved with such speed that it pierced clean through the bison's head, leaving a hole in its wake.
The spear didn't stop there; it continued, blasting through multiple trees behind the bison before finally coming to a halt, embedded deep in the ground.
Leslie moves to Nex, her eyes looking into the aftermath. "That was very powerful,"
Nex's expression changed, returning to something more familiar.
"Yeah, if I had mastered this technique earlier, we wouldn't have struggled so much against the wolves."
Leslie observed him as she said. "Do you realize that after you absorbed the wolf's core, your personality seems to change during fights?"
Nex paused, his brow furrowing slightly. "Do I?"
Leslie nodded. "I think the core might be enhancing your skills and abilities."
"Have you felt any change or growth in the dimension inside your soul since absorbing it?"
Nex shook his head as he moved towards the fallen bison.
With deliberate actions, he prepared to store the massive creature in his dimensional space.
"No, I haven't noticed any changes like that."
Leslie pulled out her notes beginning to scribble down her observations.
She muttered. "It seems to amplify your berserk ability specifically. "
"Before, you would only get excessively excited after sustaining an injury, but now it affects you as soon as you start fighting."
She looked up at Nex, her expression one of concern mixed with curiosity.
"What do you feel during those moments? Can you describe it?"
Nex paused, reflecting on his experiences during the fight.
"I feel a rush of excitement, like adrenaline surging through my body, and a sense of becoming stronger,"
Leslie carefully noted his responses, her pen moving swiftly across the pages.
Meanwhile, in another area, Faust was surveying his surroundings.
Around him lay two tigers, each cleanly cleaved into two.
Agony, having transformed into a series of blades, whirred around him.
His avatar sat on Faust's shoulder…
Agony asked. "What are you planning, Faust?"
His gaze fixed on the cleaved tigers. Faust was deep in thought.
'So there are animals here, after all. They seem to put a mix of normal and mutated species here.'
'But for what purpose?'
He then responded to Agony, "My aim is to look for the one behind all this."
Agony asked further. "I mean, what about the other survivors?"
Faust stroked his chin contemplatively. "For now, let's focus on ensuring as many of them survive as possible."
With a new thought occurring to him, Faust looked back at Agony.
"By the way, Agony, I've noticed the Imagin appearing in the notifications. Can you check their location?"
Agony tilted its head. "Aren't they just abstract beings? I'll check,"
Faust nodded. "Yes, they should still be in abstract form. I'm curious about how they're appearing in the trial area."
Agony focused, it accessed the network.
After a brief moment, it spoke up. "I've found a separate space within the network. "
"It's filled with thoughts, probably the Imagin you're talking about. "
"Do you want me to establish a connection with it?"
