Chapter 7 - Paradox Being?

Rowan, with questions on his mind, went to the temple to ask the high priest something. On his way, he encountered a mysteriously cloaked individual who possessed powerful magic. Despite Rowan's attempts to engage the person, he was magically restrained until the high priest intervened to save him.

The high priest used his magic to repel the mysterious figure, who then vanished. However, the enigmatic individual unleashed a cursed magic that summoned a fiery-eyed, red dog that turned its gaze on the high priest and Rowan.

The high priest responded with a radiant attack, rendering the fiery dog immobile. The cloaked figure disappeared once again, leaving the dog defeated. The high priest asked Rowan where he was headed, and Rowan explained his intention to visit the temple and ask a question.

During their conversation in a nearby eatery, Rowan inquired about the "Divine Wanderer." The high priest explained that a Divine Wanderer was someone who traveled endlessly, experiencing the sensations of the world, heaven, and hell that continued to surround them. Rowan nodded in understanding.

Mid-conversation, Fahab appeared and questioned what they were discussing, claiming it was already nighttime, though Rowan believed it was still morning. An illusion cast by the mysterious figure distorted their perception of time.

The high priest performed a ritual, and the ground trembled intensely, revealing their true surroundings, including otherworldly realms. The mysterious figure had trapped Rowan and the high priest in another dimension. However, they managed to escape with the high priest's power.

But the strange occurrences persisted. Back in their original world, Rowan was astonished to discover that the high priest had transformed into the very same enigmatic figure. The figure had lured Rowan into a dark world, where only they were illuminated by an unknown aura.

Confused and frightened, Rowan asked the figure for their identity and intentions, but the figure's sinister laughter and face concealed by black dust left Rowan with more questions than answers. Suddenly, the surroundings began to shudder, and they were lifted by an unseen force.

During the moment Rowan was on the mysterious figure's hand, the figure released Rowan into an endless abyss. Rowan closed his eyes in despair. When he reopened them, he found himself sitting in front of the high priest. However, it was all an illusion. Everything around them had turned into abstract, shattered remnants.

The mysterious figure had ensnared Rowan in a complex, illusionary world and challenged him to a battle. Filled with fear, Rowan reluctantly agreed. The figure summoned a scythe from the depths of darkness, decorated with a human head and a chain-wrapped handle.

Rowan narrowly evaded the scythe's strike, but the figure's surprise attack nearly hit him. Fortunately, a luminous being suddenly appeared in front of Rowan and blocked the attack, leaving the mysterious figure startled. In the end, the figure fled, leaving Rowan and the luminous entity alone in the dark realm.

The radiant being helped Rowan stand and appeared familiar. It was Azrael, the angel Rowan had encountered before. Rowan asked if Azrael knew the enigmatic figure, and Azrael revealed that it was an illusion of darkness named Khuttuk.

Azrael then ascended to the pinnacle of the boundless world, restoring reality to Rowan and the high priest in the eatery. Rowan realized that it wasn't a dream but a true experience, corrected and guided by Azrael. Rowan and the high priest resumed their conversation.

The awkwardness also gave him a creepy experience also coated with a feeling full of questions.
