As soon as the words fell off her lips, she immediately realized how f*cked she was.
Did she just admit to her feelings?

He stared at her, as confused as she, too, was. Both blinking uneasily, each trying to decipher if those words were really said.
Seeing Damien speechless and motionless about the confession was slightly more frustrating than the anger that made her say the words. As much as she understood his reaction, as they had not actually used the "I love you" phrase with each other before, still she hoped that he'd at least feel the same way after two years.
Suddenly realizing how awkward this could get and how quickly the control, she seemed to have, would slip from her fingers, "Was that seriously what you were expecting to hear?" She asked, with a grin that appeared genuinely scary even though she had mustered up every iota of courage in her to make that expression.
