As my mind tried adjusting to the possibility of what Mason was saying, I still couldn't keep aside the conversation I had with Robert. He seemed so sure, so confident, and didn't stutter as he spoke. He was visibly angry and it was that anger I still had a hard time deciphering.
Why would he lie?
And why would he be angry when he chose to tell the lie himself?
Or are we both victims in Marcus' game?
What if Robert isn't even aware about the account being fake?
The questions overlapped themselves in my head as I continued staring blankly at Mason who seemed extremely busy explaining things to me. I felt annoyed with myself for zoning him out, as he seemed to be really invested in the explanation, but I couldn't just make my mind do my brain's will.
