Being trapped in a situation like this was something Emma anticipated, but the feeling attached was something, unexplainably surprising. She was certain, above every reasonable doubt, that she had no romantic feeling towards Marcus, so why then was she feeling conflicted about this.
She didn't just want the kiss to happen, she really had a strong urge to kiss Marcus, but as she made the attempt at pushing herself forward, Marcus' eyes shut open.
They both remained frozen, staring at each other's eyes, each probably recollecting their lost memory and realizing the repercussion of what was just about to happen. Not pleased with his own analysis, and hating himself almost immediately for loosing the firm grip he had on his self control, he pulled himself away from the compromising position, and back to his full height.
A few awkward coughs and he excused himself, silently, out of the kitchen and into the room, leaving behind a somewhat stunned Emma.
