The night after the presentation should have been nothing short of a celebration, as not only did it go well, but also attracted the straight forward compliment from the big boss, Mr Jeffery Smith, himself. However, it turned into a really quiet one as Marcus kept to himself without saying a word to even his new found best friend, Emma.
She, on the other hand, thankful to herself for eavesdropping, was somewhat understanding as to how he truly felt, even though he tagged it as him being just exhausted from lack of sleep.
Desiring to help, Emma knew, shouldn't be something on her mind, as her mission didn't include falling in love with him. With that in mind, spending her time with him like this would further make things worse for her.
With this realization firmly planted in her heart, she still took that step into his bedroom as she was still in the house, while he kept to himself in the room.
