WRITER'S POV
Life was somewhat slow, and sometimes gloomy, but that didn't stop it from going. Marcus found himself having more down than up days, as he still struggled in adjusting himself to the demands of his job. He knew he needed to first prove he was trustworthy enough to occupy the position he now does, before demanding for the trust of other members of the company. And to that, he gave his all in trying to prove to both himself and everyone else he was, indeed, trustworthy.
Not wanting to give too much consideration to the circumstances under which he got here, he swallowed the whispered insults and continued giving his absolute best to the growth of the company. He greedily hoped that after the one year was over, Mr Smith might just consider his efforts over the year and reinstate him into his position. This, he knew, was next to impossible, but still, he couldn't stop himself from hoping.
