Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 - Sebastian

My head throbbed as I blurrily watched the TV, I had no idea what was on but Bonnie was laughing at it. I'd spent the last two days drowning myself in whatever alcohol Bonnie and Max had.

My head was resting in Bonnie's lap whilst my legs were across Max's. They were both laughing at the show but I just groaned and turned over.

"Easy dude, I do want kids one day," Max chuckled as he gripped my legs.

Groggily, I got up and slumped into the kitchen. I downed a glass of water and sighed as the cool liquid was absorbed by my power to heal my head.

"Damn! That's so not fair!" Bonnie pouted.

I smirked at her and shrugged my shoulders. What could I say, there had to be some perks to being a witch.

I was about to retort back when a strange sickening sinking feeling settled in my stomach. Bonnie noticed my reaction and called Max over.

"What is it?" he asked.

"Somethings wrong," I grunted. "We need to get to the alpha's house now!"

Without questioning me, my two best friends rushed outside and into the car. We sped through the streets, worry filling our hearts. As we pulled up outside the house we instantly noticed something off. No guards were standing outside.

Max went to head inside but I stopped him.

"Wait!" I told him.

I summoned my power to sense all the energy around me. There was no one in the house, but there was a lot of energy in the back garden. I could sense the Alpha, Luna, Benny, Liam and Aria plus many other wolves that worked at the house. The most disturbing thing was I could also sense dark magic.

"They're in the back garden, but …" I paused as I recognised a scent. "There are dark witches here too, a female shifter that I think I recognise but I need to get closer."

Max nodded and led us, quietly through the house. I used my power to conceal us from any witches nearby, though I wasn't sure if that would work as I'd never needed to do it before.

We managed to make it to the open patio doors that led to the garden. Bonnie gasped as she saw her father lying face down. I gripped her arms and tried to reassure her.

"It's ok Bonnie, he's not dead. I can still feel him."

She gave me a watery smile and nodded. Max gripped her hand too and nodded at me. I knew what he was asking, he wanted to know if I was ready.

I took a deep breath and strengthened the cloak around us. We quickly crept outside and made our way to the alpha. I could feel the evil magic around me and it was making me shake.

The intensity of the power was fighting against my cloak. The witches hadn't noticed the slight change in their magic but it was only a matter of time.

The pack were situated in the middle, surrounded by witches in a wide circle. The Alpha, Beta and Liam were at the front. I could feel that the Luna, children and many of the none warrior shifters weren't there.

I felt relieved thinking they managed to get to the secret room before the attack. There must have been a warning.

"I won't ask you again Liam, where is the witch?"

A female shifter stood over them, hands on her hips as a male witch stood behind her.

"I already told you, Millie, I don't know!"

Millie? That's when it hit me. I recognised her energy from when I removed the bond from Liam. This was his former mate, Aria's mother and traitor.

"Well then, we have a problem don't we?" the male witch sneered.

Liam scoffed at him with a smirk.

"Oh yeah, what problem is that? You got no one to kick your ass? I'll happily do that for you."

I wanted to laugh but I couldn't lose my focus or we'd be discovered too soon. I moved up next to Liam and placed a hand on his waist. He stiffened and then relaxed as he recognised it was me.

Max went to the Alpha whilst Bonnie went to her Father.

"As if you could beat me," the witch growled.

"I did before I can again," he smirked.

"Fuck you wolf!" he growled, taking a step forward.

A ball of energy started to form in his hand, my stomach dropped whilst Millie just smirked and stepped aside. Instantly, as the ball was thrown, I dropped the cloak and stood in front of Liam. The energy ball surrounded me and I heard Liam call out.

Within seconds, my magic swirled around me as it absorbed the dark magic and turned it into another ball. I sent it back and the witch was knocked back in surprise.

"Lucian!" Millie called out.

"Well, you were looking for me, here I am," I smirked.
