Chapter 10 - Chapter 10 - Liam

I was still in the office when the alarm sounded. All the warriors raced outside after the Alpha, whilst my aunt guided everyone else to the basement and the secret room. A room protected by magic to keep them hidden.

"What is it?" my Uncle roared.

Several of the border patrol wolves came limping up to us.

"Dark witches, Alpha. They came out of nowhere."

A sinking feeling swirled in my gut as one by one dark witches suddenly surrounded us. One sent, what looked like a lightning bolt, towards my Uncle but Beta Louis jumped in front and took the blast.

"Now that we have your attention, kneel!"

My heart burned, it was all happening again. Millie, my former mate, appeared with her lover. Several more witches formed a circle around us and started to create dark energy in their hands.

The Alpha had no choice but to kneel with a growl. We all followed equally as angry.

"It's good to see you," Millie cooed as she reached out to touch me.

I growled and snapped my head away. Millie laughed but moved back.

"Now, now, there's no need to be hostile. If you do as we ask then nothing will happen to your new pack."

I sent her a look that told her I didn't believe her but she shrugged.

"To tell you the truth, I was very surprised to find out you moved to a pack with a witch. Then you let one touch our daughter and yourself," she whispered near my ear.

"Where is the witch?" her lover asked.

"Who?" I pretended not to know.

"Don't play dumb with me," she started. "The witch that healed Ari and took the mate bond away. You know that shit hurt, I thought I was dying.

I smirked up at her.

"Really? It felt very pleasurable for me."

"I won't ask you again Liam, where is the witch!" she growled.

I told her I didn't know and liked the frustrated and angry look on her face. As her lover was telling us it would be a problem, I felt a strange flutter on my waist. I instantly recognised Sebastian, he was there.

When that ball of energy, that was aimed at me, engulfed him my heart sank.

"No!" I called out and then gasped.

The ball started to swirl around him, the fiery orange energy slowly mixed and turned into a brilliant blue, just like his eyes when he does magic. It was mesmerising as I watched it collect in front of him.

Sebastian shot it back at the witch and he flew backwards much to everyone's surprise.

"Lucian!" Millie called out.

"Well, you were looking for me, here I am," he called out and I smirked.

When Millie growled I felt his power rising. Strange energy weaved around us. At first, I wasn't sure what was happening but then the witches guarding us started calling out in anger.

It looked as if they were in pain. One by one they vanished.

"What's happening!" Millie screamed.

Her eyes landed on Sebastian and she growled. She shifted and leapt at him. I shifted too and rushed in front of him.

"No!" Sebastian called as Millie's teeth sank into my side.

I fell at his feet and shifted back. My body burned and I could feel blood oozing out of my wounds. My vision started to darken and the last thing I saw was Millie going for Sebastian again.

I awoke in my room, what felt like days later. Aria was asleep on the bed beside me and Sebastian was sitting on a chair fast asleep.

For a moment, I looked over his face as I watched him sleep. He looked paler than normal but he still looked good. His dark hair looked dishevelled and I wanted to run my fingers through it.

I lifted my arm to do just that and stilled. There was no pain, no tightness in my side. I pulled back the covers and was awe-struck. There was no wound, no scar. It was as if I'd dreamt of the attack.

"I healed you," a small voice pulled my eyes back.

Sebastian had his head slightly lowered as he fiddled with his fingers. Was he scared of how I would react? Of course he would, I've made it clear how I hate magic.

"Thank you," I whispered, being careful not to wake Aria.

Sebastian's head shot up and his eyes went wide. He really hadn't expected me to say that. My wolf scoffed at me in my head and I had to try and not roll my eyes.

"Yo … you're welcome," he stammered, blushing bright red.

"What happened?" I asked as I gently sat up.

Aria was dead to the world as I leaned against the headrest and looked expectantly at Sebastian. He nodded and took a deep breath as if he was preparing himself for the worst.
