When I watched Liam drop in front of me I panicked. Blood was everywhere as he shifted back. Why had he protected me? Millie went to lunge again. Without thinking, I swirled my magic and sent it to her.
I froze my magic around her body like a vice. She snarled and growled at me as she tried to break free. I tightened my grip until she whimpered. Slowly, I walked towards her.
"Why did you attack my pack?" I demanded.
She snarled and snapped at me so I tightened my magic even more. I asked again and she still refused to change back. So, I weaved more magical energy through her, calling to her wolf to shift back. Her wolf had no choice but to obey.
"You disgusting little witch!" she snarled. "How dare you attack me!"
"Me attack you?" I asked with a coldness in my voice. "You attacked your own pack with 'disgusting witches' as you called me and poisoned your own daughter. You attacked my pack with those 'disgusting witches' once again and you ask me how I dare?"
At this point, her lover, Lucian I think she had called him, awoke and was listening very intently but she didn't know.
"Oh shut up! What do you know, you pathetic little witch! I attacked my pack because I was done with them, done with that life. Lucian was just a means to an end and a good fuck!"
She was really vile and digging her own grave.
"I enjoyed fucking him because I knew Liam would feel it but you ruined that," she snarled. "It took ages to convince him to attack this pack."
"Oh? I guess you're not as persuasive as you thought, are you?" I mocked.
"Just who the fuck are you?" she growled.
"I'm Liam's fated mate and the witch of this pack."
She snarled at me but I ignored her and turned to Lucian who was walking up to us. She stilled when she noticed him.
"Why did you attack her pack and then us?" I asked him.
"She told me her mate, her alpha and a few of the other males in the pack were abusive. She claimed that her child was dead because of them."
We both looked at her.
"We attacked only the strongest males as she claimed they were the ones continually attacking her. She told me that her wolf healing meant she couldn't ever prove their attacks."
"Why did you attack us today?" I asked.
"Because of you," he stated.
"Me?" I asked with wide eyes.
"Yes, when we discovered the mate bond had been broken she was angry and disappeared for two days. When she returned she claimed she'd seen you being held and forced to attack other witches. She also said that she had seen her daughter, the one she thought had died."
"You didn't know that she was the one killing her daughter with a powerful magical poison."
Lucian's wide eyes told me he had no idea. After a beat, something in his eyes told me he was putting two and two together.
"Who made it for you?" he demanded.
"Who fucking cares!" she growled. "You wouldn't help me so I went to someone else!"
She sneered at him and smirked.
"It didn't take much to convince him. He was a good fuck too, I convinced him that killing my daughter was the only way to save her. The stupid fuck believed me."
Lucian went towards her but I stopped him.
"You came here to free me?" I asked him and he nodded, still glaring at her. "Now you know the truth. She was just using you and she will continue to use you."
Lucian's body sagged. I took a step forward and placed a hand on his shoulder. I could feel his magic, it wasn't dark at least not fully. It felt as if he only went dark when he needed to fight. I understood, I didn't approve but I understood.
"She deceived you and your coven, the blood that your coven has shed is on her hands, not yours. You were merely the weapon she wielded. With my magic I have bound her wolf, so for now she can no longer shift. She needs to pay for what she has done."
"We will make her pay," he growled, Millie actually flinched back.
"No!" Alpha John called out. "If you do that then you'll be no better than her. She needs to answer for the deaths and to do that she needs to face the wolf counsel. Sebastian can testify to the poisoning and you and your coven can be the witnesses."
"What good would that do?" he shouted.
"She would go to a shifter prison for the rest of her life. She doesn't deserve a quick death or even a slow one. Once Sebastian's magic wears off she will be given weekly injections of wolfsbane, a poison that prevents a shifter from shifting. That way she can suffer for the rest of her natural life as a human."
"Fine!" he grunted, handed me a contact number and then left.
After he went, I rushed to Liam's side and instantly started to heal the gaping wound. His wolf healing had kept him alive but it wouldn't have been enough without my help.

After I finished recounting everything to Liam he sighed a little, looking at Aria.
"She's in the dungeons until the trial, which is in a few days. The council is coming here."
He nodded and then, to my surprise, reached out for my hand.
