Chapter 33 - To start it off

The next morning, when Zion woke up, he exhaled deeply then held onto his head for he had a dream about the life he had before his current one, one which triggered feelings and memories, he didn't want to have then he sighed.

'I need to start building back what they destroyed, one more run, that's all I need to put on the challenge, as for this king, I have to keep him alive at any cost, he will be my support in many ways,' He thought before getting out of bed.

Zion went to freshen up immediately to get started with his day and when he was finished, he changed then left the room.

As he walked down the main hallway, the same time, Goran was passing by and saw him then smiled before approaching him.

"Good morning, Zion," He said.

"Good morning, Goran, where is the king?" He asked and Goran glanced at him then sighed.

"He is in the living room, we are going to have breakfast there, the king has a few things he needed to discuss with Cyron as well as a few others," He responded.

"Come on, I don't want you getting lost, I will take you," He added then Zion nodded and followed Goran.

After a few minutes of walking, they arrived at the living room and when he entered, the king, who was busy signing a few papers, looked at him and from the energy that Zion was giving off, he could tell that he was disturbed.

"Good morning," Zion said as he bowed his head and the king's brows furrowed then he sighed.

"Good morning, Zion, sit down," He replied then Zion nodded and sat down beside Cyron.

"Good morning, slept well?" Cyron asked and Zion scoffed.

"Good morning Cyron, yes, it was slightly peaceful," He responded and the king's eyes narrowed as he looked at him.

"Is there something else bothering you right about now, Zion?" The king asked and Zion looked at him.

"What is your goal exactly?" Zion asked and the king left staring at him.

"You want to take them down, don't you?" He asked and the king's brows furrowed as he stared at Zion in surprise, for he was not expecting something like that.

"What are you...." The king mumbled and Cyron glanced at Zion, who exhaled deeply then he looked at the king with his eyes narrowed.

"I will accept the job and help you take what it is that you want," He said and the king swallowed as he looked at him.

"What's going on here?" Goran asked and the king lowered his gaze.

"You weren't sent here by them, were you?" The king asked as he pointed his sword to Zion as he stood up.

"You won' beat me in a fight, don't even try, I wasn't, in fact, I probably hate them more than you do," He responded as he stood up and Cyron and Goran exchanged glances, for they were confused about what was going on.

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" The king asked and Zion moved the sword from before his face and the king sighed then placed it away.

"Sorry, I was just a little surprised with what you said, not much say it even if they hate them, some are too afraid to even go up against them, what did they do to you?" The king asked, for that was what piqued his interest.

"Let's just say they took a lot from me in the past and it is about time they pay it back, before it is too late of course," He responded and the king tilted his head a little to the right.

"I see, so you want revenge on them, but tell me, what do you mean by before it's too late?" The king asked and Zion glanced at him.

"The path that you are currently going on will only bring your end, not theirs, that's what I mean," He responded.

"Zion," Cyron said and the king lowered his head.

"What are you doing?" Cyron asked.

"Wait, Cyron, so far he... He knows what he is saying, I can tell that he is not lying, but how do you know all of this?" The king asked and a smirk appeared on Zion's face.

'Damn, even as we speak here, things are changing, for this was not supposed to happen, but I intend to bend it to my will,' He thought.

"I have done my fair amount of research, I have been watching for years, they don't know me either, I can't tell you much more, it's your choice whether you want to believe me or not, either way, I am going to do as I see right," He responded and the guy exhaled deeply then sat back down as the maids came in with a trolley.

"Your Highness, breakfast," One of the girls said.

"Thank you, you may leave," He replied then they left.

"Well, I am a bit confused with you dumping all of this on me, but I sort of understand, which means my plans right now won't work well, I will need something else, is that what you are saying as well?" He asked and a smirk appeared on Zion's face.

"Precisely, I will help you with the rest, some of the most effective ways, which will start by rivaling them," He responded and a smirk appeared on the king's face.

Everything came suddenly to the king that morning. but he understood what Zion was saying and knew that he was being honest, for both of their interests were aligned against the ones they had to get rid of and that was one of the best ways.

"I am all lost, what are you guys talking about?" Cyron asked.

"The toppling of something large, a power, this is going to get interesting, it's going to be nice working with you, that is I assume you will agree?" He asked and Zion chuckled.

"Yeah, of course, we have to get things started," He responded.

"You are right about that and we will, let's talk more in detail after this, for now, no need to be confused, you guys will understand as well, let's eat," The king said and they sighed then all of them took their food and began eating, including Zion, with his eyes narrowed.
