Chapter 37 - To escalate

A little while after, when Zion finished getting ready for the meeting, he exhaled deeply then went to meet with the king, who was in the living room at the time and the king glanced at him when he entered.

He smiled at Zion, but Zion showed no emotions in return and at the same time, Cyron entered the room and saw what was going on and he chuckled then patted Zion on his shoulder.

"Your Highness, it is time, they are here," Cyron said.

"Isn't it a bit too early for that?" The king asked and Cyron sighed then nodded, for the others were earlier than expected and the king didn't like that.

"Well, there is nothing that we can do now, let's just head to the throne room and get this session over with, I want them to leave my kingdom as soon as possible, they bring nothing but trouble with them," The king responded.

"Yeah, you are right, come on Zion," Cyron said and the king looked back at them as he was about to leave the living room.

"You are coming?" He asked.

"Yeah, Cyron invited me to tag along, in case anything, I will be your advisor as well," He responded and the king chuckled.

"Fine, come along," The king said then left.

Zion as well as Cyron followed him to the throne room, where the meeting was going to be held and upon entering and seeing those that were there, Zion's eyes narrowed.

'As expected, the troublemakers are here as well and just one of the higher-ups, guess they still think they are above everyone else and don't show any respect to the king at all, these guys piss me off so much,' He thought as the king and the ones that came for the meeting, greeted each other.

Everyone sat down, except Zion and the king glanced at him then smiled a little before pulling out a chair and Cyron showed him to sit down, at first he was a little reluctant but then sat down with them and he got a few glances from the other people that were there.

'Their gazes are like needles piercing your from behind, I better stay put and not say that which I am not supposed to,' He thought before sighing a little.

"Then, shall we proceed with the meeting if these are all the people that needs to be here?" The one from the other side asked as he looked at them.

"Yeah, there is no point in wasting any time, you guys may start by saying what you came here to," He responded and the one from the other side, smiled at him.

"Fine, if that's what you want then so be it, let's start talking about the deal we made in the first place and what more it has to offer in exchange for you to become, something similar to a subordinate, there are a lot more pros than cons here, before you say anything, hear us out," The guys said and the king exhaled deeply as he thought about the consequences.

'I am going to wait and see what he says and does, his decisions will decide the future of this kingdom, as for my next step, I have to make sure this doesn't affect it,' Zion thought before exhaling deeply.

When they began talking to the king about future possibilities and benefits, Zion listened carefully to what they were saying and Cyron clenched his fist with the way they were talking, as though they had the power to do whatever they wanted, causing both him and Zion to get irritated.

"Tell me, do you want to be in a position where you stand against him when he is making you such a generous offer, you would still be the king?" The guy asked and Zion glanced at him and the king lowered his gaze.

Zion knew that the king was under a lot of pressure at the moment, since the other side was basically a powerhouse, whom few stood up against and Zion's eyes narrowed, knowing that he needed to help him out of the situation that he was in at the time.

"Do you think this is an easy decision for someone like me to make? To give up your right like that as the others did? They probably did it because they are afraid, however, your deal..." The king said and Zion glanced at him.

"We knew you would say something like that, but we have more to offer and you just being able to remain the king, should have been enough for you, well, except at times you will be following his orders, that's all, you will be given a bit more time to think about it, you won't want to stand against them on this," The guy replied and the king gritted his teeth.

"Can't you hear what he is saying? Is there something wrong with you? Even with more time, it will be hard for someone to come to a decision, one that he is not going to take, him accepting will be giving your leaders more power, one which they have no right to get," Zion said and the king's eyes widened as he turned to look at him.

"What did you just say? Who are you to even speak here, huh?" The one beside the guy that was doing the negotiation asked as he flung up from his seat and Zion looked at him.

"He is an advisor, watch how you speak, you might piss the wrong person off," Cyron responded as he got up from his seat and his eyes glowed.

The king exhaled deeply, knowing that the situation was escalating but then remembered what Zion had said to him earlier and his brows furrowed as he lowered his head then sighed.

"Hey, I don't give a crap about you or who you are here for, go back and tell them, this kingdom is not going to be theirs; they should know that not everyone is afraid of them, do you think you can take someone's home just like that?" Zion asked with a piercing look in his eyes and when the king saw that, he smirked.

"You... I am going to teach you a lesson for your insolence..." He said and a smirk appeared on Zion's face as he looked at him, ready for a fight.
