Chapter 43 - A day to forget

The morning rays fell on the school. Students were going to their classes. It was then that their eyes fell on something strange.

Today, near the fountain, they could see two statues with their faces painted black; they were also covered in mud.

Around their neck boards could be seen 'I am Looser' written. A dirty shoe was balanced on each of their heads.

People whowent past them chuckled when they noticed them; many stopped fmomentarilybefore leaving.

This was not weird, as they had seen many boys in the same position. Everyone in the school knew what that meant.

"Oh, two new additions to the 'statues of shame' movement," laughed a girl.

"Idiots," said another girl.

They made fun of them before leaving.

It continued for a while.

'Crack'

The statues started cracking, and Amon and Rydan again became normal. The first thing they did was leave the area, not willing to disclose their identity.

While rushing toward the hostel, Amon clenched his fist. He was angry for the first time since he had entered the school.

'Why am I the one who suffers every time?' he asked himself.

From the moment he came to this place, he followed all the rules. He behaved well and tried to focus on learning.

What did he get in return? The face of the girl again appeared before him; this time, there was anger in him.

'I will not let this go.' This was the first time someone had made him look this miserable.

Similar to him, there was a cold expression on Rydan's face, even though he was angry. Those girls have crossed the line, so what if they are seniors?

Amon got a reality check this time; he could not do anything. There were many reasons for this; one was not having any prior information about his opportunities.

'How will I defeat them if I know nothing about them? I must visit the library and learn about all the species.'

He and Rydan rushed to their room and entered the bathroom. After some time, they both rushed out and left to join their class.

They had already missed the first class but were unwilling to miss the second one.

The moment they entered the classroom, it was another surprise. Rumor had already spread about them being the two statues. Everyone in the class kept staring at them and laughing at their faces.

Amon and his friend were forced to look down, unwilling to show their faces. They felt so bad that Rydan wanted to leave, but Amon stopped him.

"We can't run every day; we will need to face them someday."

"We are not here for them; we are here to learn. Just ignore them."

One after another, classes passed by, Kaelin and Lyra were too ashamed even to confront them.

Amon saw their faces also had some marks; he could guess they might have also been bruised.

Rydan ignored them and blamed them for the humiliation he and Amon suffered.

Amon talked with them and comforted them with his words, saying that it was not their mistake. They left together toward the mess.

Rydan was silent most of the time, but he had to open up and forgive them. When he looked at Lyra's face, he could see a bandage on her face.

This further fueled his anger; he would teach those bitches a lesson. But when he thought about how strong they were, he became demotivated.

Amon comforted him, saying, "We have just started our journey; we just need to work hard and grow. One day, we will make them pay."

With a determined expression, he entered the mess, where he finished his lunch with his friends before moving to the field early.

He had his Prana class and decided to come early because he wanted to train. The incident that took place yesterday shook him to the core.

First, he started with weight training to train his body. He decided to lift a heavier weight and stress his body.

In the evening, he decided to go to the library. Day by day, he was learning the importance of knowledge. Fighting demonic beasts would become easier if he knew about them.

As he trained, he kept making things difficult for himself; he even got injured, but his regeneration helped him to be fearless.

He was again reminded of the reason he came to school. In the previous few days, he had not given his best.

The excitement and fun had distracted him from his purpose, and while there were instances where he had to face some bullies, it was still way better than what he had faced in Duskcrowned City.

Everyone was as strong as fallen angels, while he and Rydan were caught off guard by the 'petrify' spell.

That didn't mean they were that weak; it was just the element of surprise, an unusual spell, and expecting others to follow rules that cost them.

Amon closed his eyes and sighed, forgetting it was a bad day.

He stood up and performed the exercises while manipulating the prana inside his body. While moving, he focused on his rhythm.

His focus increased as his body bent backward a little, and his stance changed to an attacking stance.

He closed his eyes for a moment as he remembered the humiliation and anger he felt when he watched those girls make fun of him while he was unable to move.

This anger changed something about his attack; the Parana concentrated on his right fist and shone brightly.

His right hand started shaking. He kept his breathing steady and looked at the target. His eyes focus on it, ensuring he lands at the target accurately.

'Whoshhh!' Gust passed by him, and a storm appeared in the area around his fist.

His fist moved, pushing air as if creating a hole in a wall. He used his full force, twisted his hips, and made his fist carry the power of his whole body.

His body's entire weight also came onto his left leg as he raised his right leg. His body moved as if falling forward, and at the last moment, he controlled himself and landed a perfect strike.

'Boom'

A deafening sound was released as his fist landed.

'Crack'

Cracks appeared on the log, the willows flew away, and it fell backwards. A surprised expression appeared on Mon's face. He looked at his fist and noticed smoke coming out of it.

"Mother always said, Everything happens for a reason. She was right again; I finally learned Meteor Fist." A smile appeared on his face.
