Chapter 44 - Visiting Library

It was the time of dusk, and Amon was finally free. He had been busy until now to complete his daily tasks and training.

He moved toward the school; the library was not far from it. He stopped for a moment and looked at the place before him.

Many things appeared in his mind, A sleepless, cold night and the humiliation from the other students.

The beautiful fountain didn't look beautiful to him at all. If it were up to him, he could have destroyed it.

However, he took a deep breath and controlled himself. 'This is not the reason I suffered; it's because of those bitches.'

He shook his head and bypassed this area; not from it did his eyes fall on a structure.

It was like any other giant structure, with a dome at the top made of glass, but its width made it different.

It had a big entrance decorated with various designs and patterns, all shining red on a black surface. He found himself in a cold and calm place when he entered.

Not far from there, on the left side, his eyes fell on a gorgeous lady. It appeared as if she were reading a book.

She was a gorgeous lady with light lavender-colored skin and big, bright yellow-colored eyes. Her eyes, hidden behind black-colored eyeglasses, were focusing on the book.

Then, as if noticing something, her purple-colored lips moved. "How can I help you?"

A soft voice appeared in his ears.

Amon was speechless when looking at the woman with white hair; unlike other women, she was not simple.

A strange aroma was coming from her. This scent was affecting his mind. It was as if he was getting attracted to her.

He bit his tongue, closed his eyes, and soon returned to normal. Sweat appeared on his forehead.

Never had he thought he would struggle this much before a woman; he had seen his fair share of beautiful women.

This was something different. It was not because he was interested in her. This appeared like magic; his body was acting on its own.

He gulped and replied, "I want to know where I can find books about the various demon clan races and the Demonic Bestiary."

"Show me," she said, looking seductively at Amon, "your ID."

Amon's whole body shook, and his breathing increased. However, he controlled himself and took his ID; after the incident from yesterday, these things would not work for him.

All he felt was anger; this lady was doing it on purpose.

She looked at his ID and read his name. A smile appeared on her face. "Oh, how lucky of me to meet someone from the Duskcrowned family."

How she looked at Amon changed now; at first, she looked down on him.

Amon didn't react; he asked, "Can I know where I can find those books?"

She opened the drawer, took out another card, and wrote Amon's name and role number before looking at him and saying, "Sign it."

Amon looked at it and saw various yellow-colored cards, like those on the left side, arranged on a small shelf.

He didn't question it and quickly signed it. She put it on the table and said, "Follow me," before moving toward the deeper area.

There were different halls; she went to hall number three. She pointed at a shelf and said, "You will find the type of books you're looking for there; bring them back to me if you want to issue them."

She turned and started leaving; even watching her walk made him confused. "What's up with her?"

He decided to ignore her and focus on the shelf. He approached it and saw that it was filled with various books.

He started looking for the one he wanted, but there were many of them, and none of them were what he was looking for.

"I never knew it would be such a struggle."

While looking for them, he found Bestiary. It was a thick book with a black cover.

"It's heavy," he said, putting it on the floor and looking for the other book.

Many had confusing titles; he opened them.

'Cough'

Dust inside them made it difficult for him; he had to be careful while opening them.

He checked and found many interesting ones; they discussed the history of a particular race.

Looking around, his eyes fell on one of the books. It looked like a diary. He looked at its title, 'Journey of a Neo-Demon.'

When he read its index, he was surprised. This book was about the adventures of a Neo-Demon who made a name for himself in history.

Inside it, he wrote about how he fought against opponents of different races who were stronger than him.

This was a good find for him, but it had no information about the top families. It had more knowledge about facing demonic beasts and surviving.

After wasting a lot of time, he found one book. It had the title, 'Five Families of Rayless.'

This book had what he wanted. He searched and found a book that talked about strong demonic races.

They mainly contained information about them and their abilities to some extent; there was no book that contained their weaknesses.

After finishing, he approached the librarian and put the three books before her. She stared at him for a moment before looking at the books.

She checked them; they all looked old and dusty. However, she was used to it; she used 'cleanse' and cleaned them.

After that, she noted their name, date, and number on the yellow card. She then put the yellow card beside her desk.

Amon picked up the books and started leaving. The woman looked at him with a complex expression.

It was hard to know what was going on inside her head. Amon sighed in relief when he found her not bothering him.

She was too much for him, and he was finding out how weak he was each day.

He went straight back to his room and put all the books on the table. He picked the one about the adventure of Neo-Demon and started reading it.

This was like a diary; he talked about what he faced. The only change was that this only contained important dates and encounters.

It was fifty years old. It was very interesting. The author had written everything clearly; he learned much about him and his difficulties as a neo-demon.
