Many young demons could be standing in a place filled with strange trees; most of them had confused expressions.
The cold breeze that passed by made them shudder in their place. Their hands reached out and tried to cover their shoulders.
They were looking ahead, as only one person could answer all their questions.
When the lady with blonde hair looked at everyone staring, her lips curled up into a smile. "Calm down, my little bunnies; I will explain everything."
She stared at them momentarily before replying, "We noticed many of you were feeling bored in the school, so we decided to plan a picnic."
"Realy? But I forgot to bring my stuff. It would have been better if you informed me early," said a girl as she puffed her cheeks.
"Aww, no need to be worried about little things. Look at the area around you and the night sky; isn't it beautiful?" she said as her smile widened.
She looked creepy to many; some were still unable to digest what she had just said.
While what she said sounded pleasing to the ears, they felt something was missing. How can honey-like words come from a serpent who can spit only venom?
"Mam, isn't this place weird for a picnic?" asked a boy who felt something wasn't right.
"How can you say so? Look at the sky filled with stars; isn't it beautiful?" She replied in a loud voice.
When the students looked at the sky filled with countless stars and a beautiful moon, they somewhat agreed with her.
However, when they looked at the area around them, they were not sure; the sky could be seen from anywhere. Why did they have to come here?
Many started suspecting the teacher; they sensed she was hiding something.
"My bad, I forgot to mention something," said the teacher as she facepalmed herself and laughed.
Her laughter made students take a step back. They were familiar with her style until now. Many had guessed she would say something that would make them regret it.
"Students, why don't we play a game?" She said as the smile returned to her face. Her yellow eyes shone brightly in excitement.
Students were confused when they heard it. 'What's with her?' was a common question that appeared in everyone's mind.
"Don't be afraid; it's an easy game, and you can team up together." She looked at the students with an excited expression.
When she noticed that students had no interest, instead of getting angry, she said, "Those who perform well will receive rewards as well as bonus Star Points. Take it as an outdoor activity."
This made many students interested. Star points were something that each student received from teachers.
The final result depended on the number of star points. They were essential for the students who wanted to move on to a better section.
It was tough to get these star points, as the student had to perform extraordinarily to receive them.
"Now group up. You can have a maximum of six students in a group."
After hearing the teacher, the students started talking with each other and forming groups.
Most made groups based on their race and status.
The three Serpent students were the first to form a group. They have been together since entering the school, so they didn't need to think about it.
The second group comprised five Dark Elf students; they had also entered the school together.
Similarly, many groups started forming, but the pace was slow.
"Speed up; we don't have the whole night." the teacher said impatiently.
A strange group came into existence Between these groups of people of the same race and status.
It was Amon's group. In it, all members were of different races. Kael, Kaelin, Rydan, and Lily were all part of this group.
They all knew each other, so they decided to group up. After that, some other multi-race groups were formed.
The remaining had no choice but to join a group.
Students that had formed a group moved back and stood together with little distance from the other group.
"Times up!" said the teacher.
She looked at the remaining five students and said to the remaining groups, "Those groups that have space for a member add one of them to your group. I want all students to be assigned a group."
"It will not be good if one of them remains and I find out that your group has space."
Students felt a chill in their backs; they were sure she was not kidding. No one wanted to get on their nerves, so they adjusted and somehow tried to add one of the remaining ones to their group.
Amon looked at the remaining two and said, "Xyler, you can join us."
The boy, with his gray hair tied in a ponytail, noticed Amon waving his hand at him with a smile on his face.
He also looked at the expressions of the other four. The girls were nervous, and a short guy waved his little hand, following Amon.
When he looked at Rydan looking away, he was conflicted, but when he noticed the teacher intensely staring at him, he gulped his saliva and started moving toward Amon's group.
The teacher nodded her head and somehow got the last student to be assigned to a group.
After everyone was in a group, she clapped and announced, "So, students, the game we will play is called Berry Hunt."
"Beery Hunt?" The name confused the students; they had never heard of any such game.
She looked at them with a proud expression and pointed her right-hand finger at herself. "Yes, Berry Hunt. Your awesome teacher has created this game."
"In this game, we will give all groups a basket. All you have to do is collect berries. The group with the most berries will be the winner."
When they heard about it, not many were excited. What boring game was this? It didn't look fun at all.
"Don't make such faces, curies. Do you know different types of magical berries grow in this forest?"
"Each one of them has different effects. The points you will get will also be different."
Students look at her with interest now. This game might be worth it if it can make them stronger.
"Red one slightly increases your physical strength; it is worth ten points."
"Woah!" many students shouted in excitement. They never knew they could increase their physical strength like this.
"The blue one can slightly increase your magic; it is worth twenty points."
This time, it was time for students who relied on magic.
"Yellow one can increase your body constitution; it is worth thirty points."
"Last but not least, this one is extremely rare. Purple one, this doesn't increase anything, but it helps you increase your bonding with a creature."
"It is worth fifty points." The moment she finished, everyone was surprised; they had never thought this Berry would grant so many points.
