Chapter 41 - Surprise Test

A boy could be seen standing with his eyes closed. He took a small breath and started moving his body in a rhythmic motion.

It was as if he was following a set of body movements; his movements were fluid, and his hands and feet were in sync.

He took a small breath and charged forward. As he moved forward, his body changed its stance.

His left hand hit the boulder's surface, creating a small shockwave. The next moment, his right hand appeared, moving toward the tree.

A gust of fast wind released from it. His fist shone like a star, colliding with the branch.

'Boom'

A small explosion occurred, and cracks appeared on the tree's bark. It shook the whole tree. After a while, dead leaves fell down.

"This was better than yesterday; I am improving," he said as he looked at the result.

Trees here were not normal; this school was situated in the middle of the Infernal Wilds. Special trees known as ironwood were in large numbers; they absorbed demon energy to become tougher.

He practiced again instead of simply practicing Metor Fist. He was also training on his execution of the technique in the middle of the fight.

Now, he was already able to enhance his whole body. As he practiced, his movements became more fluid. He noticed the change in power and control when he used the heart as a source.

It strengthened his enhancement and control; the more he practiced, the better he became.

After finishing his practice, he went back to his room to get ready to attend his class.

In class, the teacher looked at the students and took out a pile of sheets. She said, "Today will be a surprise test. I want to know how much you have learned."

Many students became worried when they heard that; they felt chills on their backs as they looked into the trembling eyes of their teacher.

Her forked tongue only made them more nervous.

A smile appeared on her black lips as she looked at them. "No need to worry. You can easily pass if you have been focused in my class."

She threw the sheets in the air; they moved by themselves as if floating in the air. Gusts carried them, and they appeared on the desks of each student.

As students looked at the paper, they noticed most questions were MCQs and filled in the blanks, which made them sigh in relief.

However, they have not even relaxed since hearing it. "Oh, I forgot to mention two important things."

"First, there is negative marking; you should not skip the instructions written at the top."

At the top, instructions such as cheating is not allowed, and other important instructions were written.

3.) Each correct answer will give 2 marks.

4.) Each wrong answer will reduce the total marks by 1.

5.) Negative marks will also be counted; zero is not the lowest mark.

A bomb exploded in their minds, which shook each of them to the core; only some students were confident.

Some were so scared that they were sweating buckets; their hands holding paper were shaking.

Their hearts were racing uncontrollably; they had just calmed down when the teacher opened her lips again.

"One more thing: this exam has a ten percent weight, and best of luck to all of you," she said with a smile.

The students looked at each other. One of the Imps looked at his friend and said, "Bro, I will have to depend on you today."

"Don't worry, I am alive; I will make sure you pass." said his friend with a smile.

Simial instances took place all over the class, and the classmates looked at each other with hopeful eyes.

In the right side row, middle bench, Rydan looked at the white-haired boy beside him and said, "Amon, please help me this once. I will remember your favor throughout my life."

Amon looked at him with squinted eyes but still decided to help him a little.

Everyone started writing their names and roll numbers before attempting the exam. At first, everyone focused on their paper, but as time passed, some started to move their heads around.

They thought the teacher would not notice, but it was then that they heard a slight hiss in their ears. A yellow-colored python appeared before them and smacked their heads.

Countless gazes turned toward the teacher as many similar incidents took place. The teacher before them looked different; her yellow bangs had tuned into multiple yellow pythons that flickered their tongues.

She gave them a cold smile and said, "No cheating; the first time, I will only give a warning; if you don't listen, then you might get a kiss from my buddies."

Many tried, but no one could escape her eyes; Rydan was no exception. He only gave up after getting a bump on his head and his chin swollen.

Amon focused on the exam and realized that it was tough, even though he could only answer seventy percent. He left the rest, as he didn't want to get negative marks.

Time passed by, and students tried to use their brains to answer the questions. Each question was tricky and took a lot of time.

Few could answer these questions, as no one had prepared for this exam.

'Ring!'

The bell rang, which caused chaos among the students. They looked around before deciding to write more.

'Swish'

The papers moved away from their desks, flying directly into the hands of the teacher. "Times up!" she said as she smiled. Her blonde hair became normal, making her look gorgeous once again.

However, this time, no one was attracted to her; instead, they felt hate toward her. Many wanted to curse her, but no one dared look at her in the eyes.

The moment she left, students started discussing with each other, and Rayden started cursing Lyra and her friend.

Amon noticed that he had become friends with those two girls; he ignored everyone and decided to close his eyes and meditate.

Soon, the next teacher entered the class and started teaching. At first, students were scared when they saw him taking out a folder.

However, they sighed in relief when they saw that they contained some notes he used as references before starting to teach.
