Chapter 11 - A critical decision

Everyone noticed him entering the Training Ground, a mix of awe and begrudging respect welling up within them. The boy's lack of wings didn't matter; his presence commanded attention.

Snow-white hair and a well-maintained body; he had visited the Training Ground regularly the previous month. Not only that, he even engaged in multiple spars.

Spars in which both participants had to rely on only their physical strength. He fought multiple opponents older than him, facing them gave him much-needed experience.

Others were also impressed by his improvement. Damien apologized to him as it was decided before the battle. He initially believed Amon's win was just a fluke and wanted to challenge him again.

However, when he noticed how much he had improved, He was forced to hide. Not willing to trigger Amon again; this much humiliation was already enough to embarrass him for years.

He changed his timing and came at a time when Amon was not present.

Everything was moving on the right track. Not many fallen angels dared make fun of him in front of his face. Even if some did, they didn't bring his mother.

They treated him like a madman who gets easily triggered and starts using his all, risking everything. It was not rare here to have many such reckless people.

One day, while training, he heard something interesting; he approached the group and talked with them for a moment. At that time, he got to know something he couldn't believe.

He returned to his house and asked his mother, "Mom, is it true?" Her silence answered him everything he wanted to know.

"Why did you never tell me this earlier?" He looked at his mother with moist eyes. Unable to believe something like that existed.

Vallaire kneeled and rubbed his head. "It's something every nobleman has to do. Don't you want to become stronger? It is the only way."

"But mother, I don't want to move away from you," he said as he tried to protest, dashing inside.

"So that day finally came?" said the scarlet-eyed woman standing just a little far from Vallaire and looking at the Mother and Son pair.

"A grown chick had to leave his mother's nest if it wants to soar high in the sky. He needs to venture outside and gain experience." She sighed as she looked at Amon's room.

"Wouldn't it quite lonely for him? He has no one to call family other than you. How will he be able to live without you? After all, he is just a kid," said Melusina in a worried tone.

"He needs to learn this; I can't be with him forever. Eventually, he will need to leave me and settle with his own family. He is still too immature." Vallaire replied, and sadness appeared in the depth of her eyes.

A boy could be seen sitting in a dimly lit room. Looking at the world outside from the window before him. His face, filled with joy and resembling a blooming flower, appeared dry.

A lady could be seen looking at him from the opened door, looking at her son, who looked like a sunflower without sun. Her motherly instincts kicked in, asking her to go and hug him.

She clenched her hand, pointing at him and controlling herself. This was something that he had to deal with himself; after all, she knew she could not be present with him every time.

If he cannot come out of this situation by himself, how will he be able to pass the trials of life? Where he has to make decisions that will decide his future. She turned with her moist eyes and left without saying anything.

Lost in his thoughts, he could not notice his mother's feelings. Unable to accept the reality of this world, which had always been cruel to him. He continued to struggle because he had the support of his mother.

Imagining living far from her was a nightmare, while he knew fate was cruel to him. He also knew his mother wanted the best for him. If he wants to help her, he must become stronger.

Stronger than anyone else in the family; only this way will he be able to help her. He remembered his promise to himself and asked, Will he break it now?

He had become stronger, but is this improvement enough? No, it was nothing compared to what he needed to achieve his goals.

"If I continue like this, hiding in my mother's embrace, I may never be able to succeed in helping her or Exact Vengeance." He looked at the weather around him and could see Dark Blue clouds, signaling the arrival of a big storm.

"My future would depend on this decision. No one has ever become great by living in their home. If I want to become stronger, I must make a choice." He was clearer than anyone else about his situation.

However, it was just that he couldn't help but be unwilling to leave his mother's side. His brain and Heart were against each other, both asking him to follow their advice.

While Heart said everything is worthless if you can't live with Mom, his brain took a logical approach, saying he could only help his mother if he was strong enough.

"If I remained like this, I would burden her forever. He jumped out of his window, landing on the roof. Fast winds hit his small body, trying to take him away with him.

Memories of all his life flashed through his eyes, and for the first time, tears appeared in his eyes. Everything hidden deep inside him burst out like a torrent. Till now, he has been able to make himself believe that everything is worth it until he can be with his mother.

However, things were different today; he now had a choice to make. Whether he will forever be with her and be happy while being a burden or accept this grief and later make his mother happy,

Either he could choose himself and make things difficult for his mother, or on the other side, he could make things worse for him and make her happy. His eyes opened wide as if clarity had hit him.

"It was never about me. Tears flooded out of his eyes as if the floodgates in his lids had opened." He touched his aching Heart and closed his eyes, trying to calm himself down.

Tears came out of the dark clouds circling around the sky as if replying to his sorrow. Nature opened its shower to hide the tears of a boy who had just taken his first step toward becoming a man.

Sacrifice, he was willing to sacrifice his happiness in exchange for his mother. The moment he realized how hard it could be for his mother if he remained weak, the choice was not hard.

'Boom!' The thunder echoed in the sky while rain started pouring faster.

Trying to wash away all his worries, he sat on the roof with his eyes closed and started meditating. After clearing his mind, unknown to him, his mindset had changed.

He was the same Amon physically, but mentally, he was different. Prana started concentrating around him. It was as if the raindrops were not able to affect it.
