Seemingly, a beautiful priestess was walking along the corridor in the holy church. She was going to the cathedral to meet a bishop there. As she opened the door, there was a bishop with a bulky posture praying on the altar. The priestess, seeing that, closed the door and waited a bit in front of it. After a while, the bishop came out.
"Good morning, Priestess Imelda," the bishop said.
"Good morning, Bishop Bernard," Priestess Imelda replied.
"You were waiting long?", Bishop Bernard said while smiling.
"No, I was here just now. Let's go to the village, shall we?", Priestess Imelda replied.
Ever since that day, the monsters have attacked the village very frequently. This was caused by the village's gate being destroyed. Bishop Bernard and Priestess Imelda have always gone to the nearby village to provide healing and blessings from the Goddess of Healing to help those in need.
They have been going for nearly 5 years without any blanks until the day of the election of the new king. After the new king had just been elected, he immediately recognized the problem in the village and offered help by rebuilding the destroyed gate. He also came to the Holy Church personally to thank the Bishop and also provided resources to the Holy Church since no one from the village was offering anything since they were not in a position to give anything.
Now that the village has a new gate, they don't actually have to go to the village, but it becomes a habit after doing it for 5 years. And by going there, they could socialize and preach while offering help to the villager who was sick.
As they were preparing their bags and weapons, suddenly they heard a loud trumpet in front of the holy church. They walked hastily to the outside and found a royal messenger standing there.
The royal messenger, seeing the bishop, took out the letter from his bag, walked to him, and said,
"By the King's decree, I hereby want to give you the letter of importance."
The bishop took the letter. Seeing the royal seal on the letter, he opened it and read the content very carefully. Then his eyes suddenly popped out, and he hurried himself to the horse that was reined in front of the holy church. He said to Priestess Imelda,
"Let's abort going to the nearby village. I must go alone to the capital."
Priestess Imelda looked anxious and asked, "What does the letter say?"
Bishop Bernard, while hopping on the horse, replied, "The capital is in danger. There is a calamity going on, and I must go to them. The King was being kind to everyone. It's the least I can do."
Priestess Imelda then tried to give him the necklace she wore. It was a necklace that her mother gave her when she decided to become a priestess. It was a necklace made from white beads that looked like pearls. "Wear this as a token of luck, promise me you'll be back, and return it to me. The villagers need us."
She was genuinely worried. Bishop Bernard is the only bishop in the holy church. He was from an orphanage, and Priestess Imelda decided to join the Holy Church because of him. He was kind and empathized with the people. She respected him just like her own father.
"I promised.", Bishop Bernard proceeded to wear the necklace, and with a firm face, he continued
"I'll be back."
