The reinforcements were found flying above the forest, passing it through without a hinch. They were moving as quick as a hawk chasing its prey. After flying for some time, there were thoughts in people's heads.
The first one was, "What kind of monster do we need to face?"
That line of thought signifies people's behavior—the type that loves to look forward and never look back.
The second line of thought was, "What about the horse they left? Would they die starving?"
This line of thought signifies another type of people's behavior—the type that looks back to instropect themselves. Not that the horse would die since the horse could eat the grass in the grassy field. Except if the horse is a picky eater, duh.
And the last one was, "How do we land?"
This line of thought signifies a type of people's behavior—the type that looks into the present. But most of it was that they loved their lives and didn't want to die.
Kairos said, "Hey Mey, we fly quite fast; how do we stop with this kind of momentum?"
Meyeri replied, "Emm."
Kairos said, "You haven't thought about how we stop?"
Kairos regrets his decisions. Hearing that conversation, Bernard said
"It's fine, Kairos. Everything is going to be alright."
And then he continued, "There is a life after death after all."
Kairos replied aggresively and comically, "That's not fine at all!"
Icarus said, "Couldn't we stop like we did earlier? Just cast wind magic to slow our landing."
Meyeri replied, "Casting that kind of wind spell that stopped us will make us fall downward."
While the discussion was ongoing, they'd passed through the forest.
Kairos said, "Hey, at this point, we're just going directly to..."
When he was trying to say that, he found the knight's stronghold.
Kairos continued, "Over there! Let's try to glide downward and ask the knights to catch us."
Icarus said, "How do we glide downward again?"
Kairos replied, "We just need to look down."
Then he shouted, "Everyone! We'll try to look down and glide downward."
Kairos then asked Mey, "Mey, once we're gliding down, try to slow the impact by casting wind magic upward bit by bit."
Mey replied, "Okay, Kai."
There are some knights on the outpost who are on the lookout for monsters. They were surprised to see big flying things coming to their stronghold. The knight uses his wooden telescope and sees his friend Kairos signaling for help.
The knight said, "Oh, here we go again."
While running to the camp and shouting, "Reinforcement is here! But they're signaling for help! Everyone out now!"
All of the knights come out, including the leader of the patrolling knights.
"Kairos came? That was fast." That was what he thought, but then the lookout said,
"Sir, look upward!"
He saw that there were about a hundred people gliding in the air. They weren't slowing down enough to stop.
"Formation! We need to catch them since they didn't slow down! I think they can't! Line up! Channel all of your strength to your feet, or else you'll break your legs!"
The knights instantly formed a line and prepared to catch them. The collision was inevitable, but the knights could barely stop it. After all of those commotions, Kairos steps up to meet the leader, kneeling while putting his hand on his chest.
"Reinforcement has come. Sorry for all of the commotions, sir Lionel."
Lionel was frantically excited. "Did you bring the witch? That would explain all of this. We might have a chance."
Lionel is the leader of the patrolling knight; he is in his middle age. But his youth hasn't stopped yet. Despite his age, he is still one of the strongest men in the country. His lumina was visibly shown, indicating how powerful he is. All the warriors in the capital looked at him as one of their goals. But despite what's been rumored, the current Lionel seems to be tattered all over the place with bruises. After that thought, it looked like all the knights were in the same condition.
Lionel said, "Let's get inside the stronghold and get some water."
Then all of them went inside the temporary stronghold the knights had created. First, Kairos was explaining the situation that led them to all of this.
Lionel said, "It's a shame; I should have been wary about monsters behavior. I would've sent more men to eradicate the goblins in the forest."
Kairos replied, "That would be impossible since we need all of those men on the frontlines."
Lionel replied, "It's true; we're barely holding them. But we have no casualties yet except for the one who died in the forest."
Kairos then said, "What is the status on the frontlines, sir?"
Lionel then explained, "Once you left the party, monsters started spawning from the black smoke, but not that many. So we tackled them with half of us and switched them once after each hour."
Then he explained, "It's the third day already, but it seems the monsters are becoming more aggressive and spawning more. We deployed all of our strength to the field currently and left the tattered one here. They've been fighting since daylight, and I bet they can't hold on much longer. It's good that you guys come in faster than we're expecting. We need to switch all the knights with all the people you had."
Kairos replied, "Okay, then we'll need to dispatch ourselves fast."
When Kairos wants to hurry himself out, Lionel shouts,
"Halt!"
Kairos then stopped. Lionel said, "There is one thing I nearly forget. But the smoke hasn't stopped growing. I sense something big coming. May God be with you all."
