The great lands of Itoria were held together by the four powerful kings who devised a plan to stop the demons from taking over the land. Countless slaughter had been brought to villages outside of all the kingdoms and soon enough the kingdoms would be next.
All until the Great King Astaltes stepped up to bring about the age of heroes, bringing people from all over the different continents to stop these demons.
War had been waged for years with no end in sight but then the first group of heroes emerged from the shadows.
Shuji the legendary knight from the kingdom of Everfiel, a man who knew no end to his abilities in swordsman ship. Ranking just barely above an A class with the type of abilities he could wield.
He was well known for stopping multiple demon generals with the help of another hero.
Aliza the shadow walker, her skills as an assassin surpassed any other assassins that were known at the time. She assisted Shuji in the executions of these demons generals for a long time.
These were the first two heroes who ranked as A class heroes with the ability to infiltrate enemy camps unlike the normal adventurers or even the royal army.
It was said that these heroes were born from the strongest of families but no one could ever figure out who the family was. Usually it's better off that way so no one can be harmed.
But moving past our first two heroes we come onto the third and final hero from the first group. Sorakami the Reaper.
With a name a nickname like the reaper you wouldn't expect him to be a hero but he went on a different path from the others which led to him becoming the strongest of them both.
The first ever S Class hero was born and he took the battle by storm with the way he wielded his weapons.
Taking inspiration from legendary generals and even combining it with bits of magic which wasn't seen as possible at the time, he became the most famous of them all.
Killing the right hand of the demon lord by himself before disappearing off the face of the lands. No one knows what happened to Sorakami or where he could've went from there.
Some believe he is dead while others think he still wanders the land slaughtering demons for the fun of it.
The year is 600 which is significant considering it wasn't something we expected to reach in the time of darkness.
"Dad are you going to tell us about the other heroes too?" A boy asks with a bit of excitement in his voice.
"Of course I'll be sure to share more about those heroes son. Just not right now." A man responds with a smile on his face.
Yes everything is a lot to take in when you don't have all the details but not everyone can handle what has happened over the years.
These kids don't realize the potential they have to become the next heroes in this world.
We've won the war awhile ago but that doesn't mean that the demon lord won't try again. He's bound to come back for his second chance at controlling the lands once more.
"Dad what about the second and third group of heroes? They are around still aren't they?" The boy asks with a curious yet excited tone in his voice.
"Well the third group is the heroes we have now who watch over the lands, They really are great warriors." The man responds while looking towards the window.
Sitting inside the cabin telling the boys about the heroes was one way to pass the time nowadays but was it all worth it?
Giving up the chance of becoming a hero to look after them? She promised we'd do it together and never came back. Why did she have to be a part of the second group.
Lena really has been gone a long time, I wonder if she ever found her brother.
The cabin the story was being told in was in the middle of the woods surrounded by beautiful cherry blossoms, a perfect place for a heroes family to live.
But that was just the tales of the heroes we have yet to know more about, perhaps it's time to find our hero of the tales. A hero that was forgotten about, one that was part of the first group.
Kenshin Haru. Most called him Haru that were close to him but what did anyone know of him?
Sitting inside of a tavern at a table on the left side of the room was a man with long, wavy white hair that reached his shoulders. Dark blue eyes, a scar across his cheek, wearing a a trench coat that was custom fit to go over his knight armor.
(Out in the town of Zianna.) Haru's view.
The tavern here wasn't the worst but half the time people who came in here didn't even seem to know what real fights are like. Fighting goblins, wolves, or even skeletons wasn't anything compared to the demons I've fought.
Yet no one remembers me, no one knows of my history amongst the land. A forgotten hero that they could care less about.
The walls around the tavern were painted with sketches of all the heroes that have fought against the demons but not one of them were me.
Was this my curse? Years ago when I fought against the left hand of the demon lord he told me no one would remember me. That I was just going to be forgotten.
Perhaps it was a curse he instilled on me so that I would never know fame or glory.
"You going to order something mister?" A soft spoken waitress asks while standing before me.
"I'm still thinking on it." Haru responded with a respectful tone.
Usually I'm here to see if any news of the demons pops up again but it's been silent for awhile now.
I wonder if Lena is still out there fighting or if maybe she's looking for me. Sometimes I think it's better off that I'm forgotten, the amount of people who are safer without me around makes a difference.
Glancing around the room you could see several different groups of adventurers sitting and talking. It was a pretty lively tavern for the most part.
Haru didn't wait around for the waitress to come back this time. It was different now.
I will make a name for myself once more, even if it means that I have to kill the demon lord myself. I've been in the shadows for ten years with nothing to show for it.
Killing C class demons for coin while trying to figure out if an uprising is happening again.
I'm still young so I might as well get back out there, even if I'm all alone.
An S class hero like me with no companions or any tales about himself, how pathetic is that. It's time to change it all.
The sun shines upon Haru's face as he stands in front of the tavern looking towards the sky. He was set on making his name known no matter what this time.
