Chapter 18 - Charlotte And The Commander

Jasper's POV

Reaching in my office, I didn't see my beta, but my gamma Fred was there. He greeted me and handed over the files which needed my attendance. I began to go through it, forgetting the fact that I'm supposed to meet with the elders.

"Good morning Alpha. " I nodded, as I've already perceived that it's Grey that just walked in.

"You showed Charlotte to the training ground, right?" I inquired from him and he nodded.

"I hope Joe isn't making a fuss." I asked as I looked at him.

I know how Joe can be, especially to female trainees, he tends to think they're weaker vessels and shouldn't be made soldiers. No matter how many people or times anyone tries to reason with him, it turns out abortive.

"He's not making a fuss, but I think he will soon because from the look of things he doesn't like her there at all." He responded, and I nodded and continued going through the files on my desk.

"The elder will be arriving soon, I think in an hour's time." He said while staring at his wristwatch.

"What do you mean by hour's time?" I thought he's already here." I asked with a squirted eyebrow.

"Well the grand luna asked him to leave as you weren't around, so he left and said he will return today." He explained and I nodded.

Sporadically I wonder how my mom can have such an effect on people. She tends to order and command people as though she's an Alpha, but I guess it's because she's the Luna of one of the most powerful Alphas that ever lived_ Alpha Jack.

"Okay." I responded, and he turned and was about to make himself useful, but then I recalled what I wanted him to do.

" Grey?" I called out.

"Yes, my Alpha." He responded.

"We need to keep our word to Alpha Durango, so go and get the uranium for him." I ordered him with narrowed eyes.

"Alpha, I thought that you would speak to the grand Alpha first, as he's the elder in charge of it." He uttered and stared at me with confusion in his eyes.

"Don't worry, before you get to his house, I will let him know." I responded, and he nodded and turned the door's knob and walked out of my office, which is located in the only skyscraper in my pack but on the toppest floor.

It wasn't easy to have a skyscraper in my pack, but at last I achieved it. When I took over from my dad, I so much wanted to make a difference. I intended to do so many things better and different from my dad's.

Most times when I look at those things I listed, a smile creeps its way to my lips because I've achieved a lot more than I can think of in just the space of five years.

I felt a sharp pain in my lower abdomen that brought me out of my reverie. I examined my stomach but didn't see any wound. Then it occurred to me that Charlotte might be in pain.

Moreover, I tried to pry into her thoughts, but I couldn't make out anything. It was havoc and disastrous. I tried to mind link to her, but then she closed the link to her mind. I stood up immediately and dashed out of my office towards my private elevator.

"Drive me to the training ground." I said to my driver, who didn't even question me as he noticed the urgency in my tone, then drove out with the speed of lightning.

In a matter of three minutes or less, we arrived, and I zoomed out of the car and I saw all the trainees surrounding two wolves who were tearing themselves apart. They made way for me and to my surprise, my mate was about to rip off the head of my commander. This is serious!

I immediately ran towards them and shifted midair then bounced on her, thereby separating the both of them. Then I stood on my four limbs in anger and groaned loudly before shifting back to my human form.

We are used to nudity as wolves, so it doesn't mean a thing. "Shift!" I ordered Joe, and he slowly shifted into his human form.

What did he do to Charlotte that made her wound him in such a manner, and I'm pretty certain that if I didn't arrive here in time, she could have ripped his neck off and then come back to her senses? If Joe was human, he could have died, I'm sure of that.

"What is the meaning of this? How can you fight with your trainee? Don't you have any shame left in you? Is this how you teach them to respect you!?I groaned loudly as my anger was at bay.

"You should be the mature one here. They are like pups to you, but you went ahead to show them that you're not different from a pup.

I'm very confident that Grey made it clear to you that I recruited her but of the bloody fact that you don't have a single atom of respect for me, you decided to beat her up. You want to bully her because she's a she-wolf, right?"I asked in annoyance, but he didn't alter a word but bowed his head.

"I'm sorry, my Alpha." He apologized, but for some reason that made me even more angry.

"Then all of you here decided to watch her kill your wicked and ruthless commander to death, right? No one thought of separating the both of them."I turned to the trainees, who almost broke their necks in the cause of bowing.

"You bloody fools are dismissed!"I yelled, and they all scurried out rushing.

"Stand to your feet!"I ordered Joe, and he slowly stood up as he's in a lot of pain.

"I'm sorry, my Alpha." His face is torn beyond recognition. He should have asked about her before annoying her.

"Apologize to her." I said to him while pointing at Charlotte, who was still in her wolf form and staring at him like someone who's ready for a second round.

"Charlotte, I'm sorry."
