Charlotte's POV
If not for the fact that I'm in an alien pack I could have taught Jasper's mother how to respect herself as to receive that in return. I mean, was that statement of hers really necessary? Why should she ask me that question when she knows the answer to it?
Even if Anna is behaving all spoiled she should be the mature one there and not act way too infantile than her. I sighed as I walked into the massive living room. I decided to take the liberty of giving it a good look.
The living room is large enough to have a couch big enough to seat at least eight people, with a huge LCD TV hanging on the wall. In one corner of the room, there's a fireplace that can heat the entire room.
As my eyes roamed around the spacious living area I discovered that there's a bar in another corner that has every liquor imaginable and a fancy espresso machine for making lattes and cappuccinos.The whole place is decorated in white, with a mix of leather and suede furniture.
The floor is carpeted, with an area rug made of some exotic animal fur. I took a step to the left and saw the kitchen, it's huge, with a six-burner stove, a double oven, a double refrigerator, and a large island that's perfect for serving food and drinks.
There's a huge table in the dining area that could seat at least 12 people. The whole area is decorated in a modern style, with stainless steel appliances and white cabinets. There are large windows that let in lots of light and give you a great view of the backyard.
Almost at the center of the living room there's a huge staircase leading up to the second floor. The stairs are made of polished hardwood, and the railing is made of wrought iron.
"Good afternoon Miss." I turned left to see Grace smiling genuinely at me that I couldn't help returning the smile.
"Hey."I mumbled almost to myself.
"Do you need anything?" She asked with her smile never leaving her lips.
The woman is probably in her 40s or 50s. She has a few wrinkles around her eyes and mouth, but her skin is still smooth and well-cared for. She's wearing a simple but well-tailored outfit, and her hair is styled in a classic bob.
She has a friendly smile, I must comment again, and she looks like someone who enjoys her work. She seems like a woman who has a lot of experience and wisdom, but also someone who's still full of energy and enthusiasm.
"Do you need anything?" She asked again, presumably thinking that I didn't hear her the first time.
I smiled sheepishly and mentally slapped myself for always losing my mind on baseless things. "No, no, I don't but I would love to help out in the kitchen instead of staying inside my room. Kind of it's not my thing."I responded and she smiled with a slight nod.
"I get that feeling a lot when I'm on leave or sick. You're more than welcome to join me in the kitchen as the three other maids are cleaning the rooms." She said to me with her welcoming smile that leaves no room for doubts.
"Thanks."I said while walking behind her towards the kitchen as she took the lead.
"I heard that you're our Alpha's fated mate." She asked with a low voice that only me can hear her words.
I chuckled softly and nodded, "I know how it feels to know that your fated mate is already in love with another. They both have been lovers since their teenage years, coupled with the fact that Anna's father is the Alpha of one of the strongest Packs.
Jasper doesn't want to miss the opportunity that their alliance would bring to him." She continued walking towards the kitchen.
"What of his father?"I asked, though something in me tells me he's still alive but then the grand Luna is here but I haven't seen him.
"Ohh, as he has retired with his Luna they're basically exploring the world, you know traveling from one country to another.
Though they just got back because they planned on conducting Jasper's mating ceremony with Anna this week but then you came into the picture. This is definitely the will of the moon goddess." She said with a smile as we entered the kitchen.
"What are you preparing for today?"I asked her while staring at the vegetables on the counter.
"As you know that I need to prepare a variety of different foods because I don't know which the Alpha or the grand Luna would prefer. So I will make burgers, hot dogs, chicken wings, mac and cheese, and apple pie." She replied and I nodded.
"But then will you use all these Vegetables for it?"I asked again. Well don't get me wrong because I'm hardly in the kitchen, in fact I only go to the kitchen when I need to make a cup of coffee myself so I don't know a thing about cooking.
"Not exactly dear but then when preparing burgers which are quintessential American food, it is often made with ground beef, lettuce, tomato, and onion on a bun.
Hot dogs are typically served with mustard, relish, ketchup, and onions. And chicken wings are a popular appetizer, often served with a variety of sauces like BBQ, ranch, or buffalo.So probably I will need to use all these Vegetables." She replied while making a funny face and I beamed at that.
"Let me help with some Vegetables." I said and she nodded.
"Why is the Grand Alpha not here since his Luna is here?"I inquired because I'm pretty curious.
"He's a man of few words but more of actions. He might not even come here to help his son out if he calls for his help but through phone calls.
He hasn't visited the pack since he handed over his title to his son though some said he has but I haven't set my eyes on our great Alpha for five years now." There was a hint of bitterness in her tone as she said that.
"Alpha Jack is one of the greatest Alpha that have ever lived. He is the only one that has matched the aura of the king till date that's why he's the right hand elder of the king." Now that's rather confusing.
"What do you mean by that?"I asked.
"Well, it's said that when you're standing in front of the king his aura is so strong that one might fall to his feet but it doesn't affect Alpha Jack but rather it gives him the authority to look at the king in his eyes. Not only but he fought countless wars during his regime.
Especially war with vampires and he triumphed in them all. He puts his people ahead of himself that's why he will never be forgotten." She said with a dreamy smile on her face that I'm beginning to think that he's her first crush.
She began to tell me about the pack and other things till we finished preparing all the dishes. "Thanks for your help today, I really appreciate it." She said as I walked back into my room.
"I enjoyed your company. I will come more often."I responded with a smile then continued walking towards my room.
I felt as though a burden was lifted off my shoulders just by talking with Grace. Just beside the stairs I saw Jasper and an elder. I know how elders dress whenever they're in a pack to check the happenings in that pack. He smiled broadly at me and I couldn't help returning it.
"She must be your Luna right?"
