Charlotte's POV
Perhaps this is really the first time that Jasper's words are really making me feel emotional. I can't help but feel so loved. Probably because it's the very first time that someone stood up for me. I know it's a very little gesture, but it means a hell lot to me.
Even my mom has never stood up for me because she's so afraid of my dad. I've wished countless times that I have anyone who would one day stand by me, support me in a time like this.
I often console myself that I don't need anyone, as I can fight through all odds by myself. But today, I've just realized how it feels to have someone speak up for you.
"I was the one who ordered them to search her room. Jasper, you can't defile my order. You might be the Alpha, but I am the grandluna…" He interrupted her before she could finish her words.
"Grand…grand, that's what you are, not the Luna nor are you the Alpha. This is my Pack, and you don't even have the right to defile my order." He said with a powerful aura that saturated the whole room and everyone quivered backwards.
He looked at me for almost thirty seconds without saying a word, then he walked out, and his beta and gamma followed shortly after. I turned to the shocked smitten Anna' and then to the grandluna who seemed so lost that she didn't even break her eye contact with me.
"You're happy now, right?" Asked Anna as she walked towards me.
"For the very first time, Alpha Jasper spoke to his mother like his subject, all because of you!" She screamed out, but I didn't quiver nor did I give backwards.
"Probably because she is." I started and began to walk towards my room.
"Charlotte, today you've given me more reason to loathe you, and I promise you that I will never accept you into this pack. If you think that this little gesture means that Jasper has changed his mind towards you, then you must be a fool." She uttered and then walked out.
"He just wants to save you from the embarrassment of today but trust me, it doesn't make much difference. You're still a thief." She sprouted then walked out as well.
"Don't worry, you all can leave." I said to the maids, who bowed their heads as though they aren't happy to witness everything that is going on.
The minute they walked out, I locked my door and slumped on the bed, as they were already done with the arrangements but glued themselves inside here so they would hear the entire conversation.
But to be frank, even if Jasper came and spoke on my behalf, this whole incident is still very humiliating. How dare Anna and the grand Luna point accusing fingers at me right in front of the maids?
Why on earth would I think of stealing an Alpha's ancestry staff and to top it all, so I would give it to my father who sold me? They all don't know me, they don't know what I have gone through. The sufferings, the discrimination, the way everyone in the Pack treats me like an outsider and nobody. They know nothing about me!
How dare she accuse me!
I stood up as my eyes flipped from black to brown. I don't think I can stop my wolf from taking control a minute from now. Furthermore, I walked out of my room and ran as fast as I could out of the mansion. Then ran into the forest and immediately removed all the clothing on my body and without wasting a minute I shifted to my angry wolf.
She howled loudly, then began to run, without saying a word to me. She wasn't even trying to console me because she also feels bad about everything that's happening. We kept running until we saw the reflection of the mother moon in the sky. We climbed a high mountain and howled so loudly.
"Ahuu...!"
After a while, it seems my troubled heart was poured a bucket of water because I felt so relieved and so did my wolf. "Let's teach her a lesson." She said within me and I chuckled at that.
"How are we to do that in a foreign land." I inquired.
"Did you see how she belittled us in front of the maids? Charlotte, we are worth nothing to them right now, all because of her. She stood her ground that we stole the staff, and you just want to let it go? Come on!" She urged me and I found myself getting infuriated all over again and I conquer with her.
"Anna really needs a good teacher and that would be me. She can't say all those words to me and still walk with her head held up as though she didn't do a thing, she didn't do a thing." I said as I shifted back to my human form.
I picked up my clothes which were littered on the ground and put them on, then walked back into the mansion. Walking into my room, I entered into the bathroom immediately and took a cold shower, as that's really what I require right now.
After which, I dressed up and made my way into the kitchen. Grace was dishing out food when I arrived. "Hey" she said as she looked up at me with her usual smile.
"I know how it feels to be humiliated in such a manner but don't put it to heart. Forget it. " She said while robbing my shoulder, but I didn't respond to that all because I have made up my mind to deal with Anita and her words won't change that in any manner.
"Please send my food to my room." I requested, and she nodded, then I walked back into my room. After some minutes, a maid brought my food and I ate to my satisfaction, after which I kept the plate outside the door, so the maids would see it when walking past my door.
I locked my door after that and slumped on my bed, and in no time I drifted to the dream world.
A knock on my door woke me up. I sluggishly walked towards the door and opened it. " Breakfast is ready." The maid said.
"Okay." I replied and she walked out.
This is a new day, with the only aim I have at hand being to deal with Anna in a manner she won't comprehend. I headed for the bathroom, after which I dressed up. I ain't quite feeling hungry, so I decided to skip breakfast. Furthermore, I sat in my room playing with my phone.
After about thirty minutes I walked out of my room and stood by the door patiently waiting for the green snake in the green grass, just then she began to climb down the stairs.
