She felt delightfully refreshed after having her interaction with the members of the pack. She hadn't seen it before but now realized how much she seemed to enjoy their presence as well as their company.
She didn't know until then just how much she missed her old pack and they did matter what happened to hers.
After she was done with her interaction with them she couldn't help but smile.
She made her way out of there as she let out a sigh from her lips.
It felt as though she was finally starting to heal.
It didn't mean that she was good for backing out of getting her revenge. She was still intent on doing that but at least she knew now that she could have people that she could count on.
Once the dinner was over she felt a sense of dread come over her as she was quick to realize that she had to go back to her tent.
She didn't know how her interaction would be with him now and something told her that it would be somewhat weird but she was ready to brace herself for whatever he planned on throwing her way.
She pulled back the flap of the tent as she sucked in a deep breath before making her way inside.
The room was a bit of a mess and her own impulses told her to clear it up slightly. She didn't normally do this but it helped to distract some of her own nerves.
She searched her own clothes as she felt a crinkle in them. It was strange seeing as she hadn't noticed it before even though she had been wearing the dress for days.
She reached into the side pocket pulling it open as she came across what appeared to be a letter.
"My dearest daughter,
I know that this marriage has come to you as a surprise. And that isn't what you would have wanted. I know that you have always dreamt of one day meeting your mate and one day having your happily ever after. But I guess some sacrifices have to be made. You should know that I love you. I always have and I always will. You should also know that the last thing that I will ever do is allow anything to happen to you. I would be dead before I ever let that happen". His words were confirmed like a set promise.
And now as she read over them they brought an ache to her heart as she thought about him. She missed her father and her people and she knew she couldn't get them back. She hated the fact that there was nothing she could do about that now.
It made her feel entirely helpless. It made her feel as though she was weak and there was nothing she could do to change it. It frustrated her to no end.
She was pulled out of her thoughts when she heard the sound of someone clearing their throat behind her.
She swiveled around to find the Alpha standing there. He looked towards her with a confused look before his gaze drifted towards the paper that was in her hands.
She was quick to hide it as she couldn't help but hold her breath. She knew that there was something he wanted to ask but she wasn't in the mood for it.
"How was the orphanage?" he asked her suddenly and she let out a sigh from her lips.
"It was good. I actually had a lot of fun with the children and I think I will be going back there soon." She said to him and she watched as he hummed.
"Well, that is good. I seem to forget that you have a way with words, seeing as how often you break into the council and declare that you need their help." He said to her and she tensed at first wondering what she was here for.
"Yes well, you see that didn't end too well. Especially since I ended up with a tall brooding man like yourself." She said to him and she watched as his jaw clenched before the smirk slowly pulled away from his face.
He sucked in a deep breath.
"We are getting there." He said and she hummed.
"And where is there exactly. Where are we going?". She asked him. She didn't know what had sparked her sudden change of mood. She didn't know exactly but it might have had something to do with the letter from her father that she had come across.
"Well, you are going to be helping me rebuild my image of course." He said to her with a shrug of her shoulders.
"Well, it seems that you have been pushing me away at every chance that you have got and you haven't been trying to try and persuade your people that you want me as your Luna". She said to him and she didn't mean her voice to come out as defensive as it just had.
He took slow steps towards her. "I didn't think that it would. I didn't see a need for it. But Fay is right. There is a war coming and as the leader of the wolves, it is my job to show that I can present a strong front for my people. And from the time you have come, you have been stubborn but you have indicated that you are also capable.`` He said to her and she couldn't help but hum slightly.
But she raised an eyebrow at him as she crossed her arms over her chest. "That is good and all but what does that mean for me and what does that mean for us?''. She said.
He looked towards her with a smirk as he moved closer taking a step towards her. "It means that you are going to put on a show for the pack. We are going to convince them That we are madly in love and inseparable."
