Erica was nervous as she woke up the next day. She felt the familiar warmth on her back and an arm wrapped around her body. She grumbled as she tried to get out of his hold but it was no use.
She reached for the arm and pinched it slightly. "I am awake. There was a reason why I didn't let go." He grumbled. She gulped as she pushed him away relieved that he finally let go.
She didn't know how it was that no matter how far away from him she moved on the bed he still managed to always pull her back to his side. She would like to say that she was annoyed and frustrated but she couldn't deny the fact that she was starting to get used to it and there was even a part of her that seemed to somewhat enjoy it.
"I should get my own bedding," she announced to him. She watched as he sat up slowly. He clenched his jaw as he ran his gaze over her. "Well, you shouldn't let me stop you. Be my guest." He said to her.
She didn't know what it was but he seemed somewhat more cheerful now. She couldn't entirely put her finger on why that was though.
"Well, I will have to do that after the engagement since you said that today is a very busy day." She said to him in a grumble under her breath. She watched as he hummed at her in response before nodding his head.
She knew that it was nothing more than her way of making excuses but at least it meant that she was able to avoid the topic.
She was glad when she was pulled out of her thoughts by the sound of one of the ladies bringing in the tub of bathing water. She felt her throat dry up at the memory of the last time that they had gotten into the bath together. She sucked in a deep breath as she turned her attention towards him and she frowned when she found that his attention was already trained on her.
"I don't have time for this". She said as she prepared herself to leave.
"Wait. I don't know why I haven't considered this before. I was going to take you to the seamstress. To get your clothes fitted. And get some other things for you to wear as well. I don't know why I didn't think of it before but maybe it had something to do with you wearing that dress all the time. I don't know, maybe I do kind of enjoy the view." He said as he licked over his lips. She shuddered at his words.
But she also felt a sense of relief come over her at the thought that she would finally be getting something new to wear. She wasn't going to have to sit around in her old dress. She was also relieved when the bath was uneventful and he didn't try any tricks on her again. Once he was done she got in and cleaned herself up as well.
She didn't feel like slipping on her old dress when she was done. It felt heavy and or felt as though it was launched in dury. She heard someone clear his throat behind her and she swiveled around to face him.
"You can always wear something of mine." He said to her in a suggestive tone. She ran her gaze over his bare chest and the loin cloth that was draped around his waist.
It was much larger than her father's not that she was surprised. Everything about him was huge. "You can simply wrap it around your body. Don't think too much into it". He said to her and before she could protest he made his way towards his trunk that was in the corner of the room and flipped over the top.
He pulled out what appeared to be a white fur skin. As he picked it up he made his way toward her keeping his expression blank and he offered it to her. "Here. This is one of my older ones. It's lighter and will not feel as heavy." He said to her as he offered her a piece of rope as well.
She waited for him to turn around so that she could change but he didn't as he only looked toward her blankly. "You are going to have to turn around if you want me to change ''. She said to him firmly.
She watched as his smirk fell as he gritted his teeth.
He sucked in a deep breath before muttering under his breath but she was relieved when he finally turned around to face away from her.
"You should hurry up though," he said to her and she didn't close to answer him as she turned to face away from him.
She was quick to take off her old dress as she pulled the cloth over her shoulders. She tried her best to tie a few knots and try to secure the fabric on her skin. It was hard for her and it left her frustrated but eventually, she managed to be able to get the hang of it.
She cleared her throat again and she was relieved when he turned around to face her. She watched as he swallowed briefly and she watched as several emotions flashed through his eyes. She would have preferred if he hadn't said anything as the state that he sent her felt as though it was traveling right through her soul.
She sighed as she shook her head before doing her best to snap herself out of it. He offered her his hand but she only looked toward him with a raised eyebrow. "Come on. Let's get going," he said to her before they made their way out of the tent.
He led her towards a small decorated tent at the base of one of the hills and he pulled back the flap and led her inside.
