Chereads / REVENGE OF THE MATED LUNA / Chapter 30 - CHAPTER THIRTY

Chapter 30 - CHAPTER THIRTY

Erica couldn't help but feel slightly uncomfortable under his scrutinizing gaze. It felt as though he was looking right through her.

She didn't want to say that she enjoyed it because, for the most part, she found herself unsettled by his never-ending stare.

She could see the way that he gripped onto his chair tightly as he gritted his teeth. His eyes flashed yellow and she widened her eyes as she was quick to come to the realization that he was on the verge of losing control. Without a second thought, she made her way towards the changing room.

She had to admit that she did like the dress. It made her feel beautiful. That was something she found strange. It was every day that she found herself feeling beautiful in her own skin and it was nice for her to be able to feel that way for once.

She made her way back outside of the room and she smoothed down the sides of her loincloth that she had wrapped around her.

She looked around in the hopes of finding the Alpha but a part of her felt her heart drop when she didn't find him anywhere. She let out a  sigh from her lips as she pushed off the feeling of disappointment that came over her. She knew that this was how things were going to be between the two of them and so she knew better than to expect anything from him.

"Sorry. He explained that he had to leave." He said to her and she couldn't help but nod her head at him in understanding. In truth, she was barely paying attention as her mind was off elsewhere. Nevertheless, she managed to plaster a smile onto her expression.

She made her way toward the door but was stopped. "Before you go. Here are some of your dresses. I will have the one for the wedding adjusted and get it back to you. I will be making more for you and have it sent over". She said to her and she couldn't help but smile as she nodded her head at her in response.

She was grateful to have her around. And she was also happy that there were still a few friendly faces. She headed towards their tent and despite her not wanting to. She found her curiosity peaking as she decided to look for him. But yet again as always, it seemed as though he was nowhere to be found.

She huffed as for a moment she wondered what it was that had gotten into him. She groaned as she realized that she had been thinking far too much about him and she was quick to snap herself out of her thoughts.  They were not together and he had made it very clear to her that they would never be.

She dropped the clothes down on the bed hoping that he would be able to find some room for them somewhere. She let out a sigh as she glanced her eyes around the room.

She was contemplating using him but she knew that this union was not permanent. And once  Fay was out of the way and off their neck she would have to return to her own tent. She didn't know how long that was going to be and so she wasn't about to make any attempt to get herself comfortable.

She knew that this wasn't something that was about to last a long time. Once she had made for herself a  small pile in the corner of the room she couldn't help but smile slightly as she looked over what she had done. She couldn't help but feel slightly triumphant as a small smile made its way onto her face.

She had to find something to do to occupy her time. It felt as though if she were here any longer then things weren't going to end well. She felt as though she was about to run herself mad with her lingering thoughts.

She felt her body shudder as she felt the urge to head over towards the cove. It seemed as though it was the only place for her to find an escape. She felt as though she could be herself when she was there.

As she stepped in she let out a shaky breath that she had been holding and a small smile made its way onto her features.

She felt at peace which was something that she didn't feel often especially not since she had come here.

"I see that we are making this a thing now." She heard a voice call out from behind her in amusement. She turned around to find Adam standing there.

She loomed over at him with a raised eyebrow wondering what he was doing there as he came to sit beside her. "Well, it seems as though you are the one who is stalking me". She said to him.

She watched as he shrugged his shoulders at her in response. "Actually I came here to clear my head. I do that whenever I feel down and you just so happened to take  my spot." He said to her with a pour.

She hummed as they sat in silence together. It wasn't awkward but she didn't know what to say to him. There seemed to just be something about him.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when she felt a handful of water being splashed on her face. She was pulled out of her thoughts as she turned towards him with a glare on her face.

"You have to stop that." She said and he only responded by doing it again.

She gritted her teeth and hit his arm causing him to do the same as they both laughed.  They were pulled out of their thoughts when they heard a loud growl.

"What is the meaning of this?."
