Chereads / REVENGE OF THE MATED LUNA / Chapter 23 - CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

Chapter 23 - CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

The silence that followed spoke volumes and she felt a confident gein make its way onto her feature.

She felt a small smile over her as she watched Sasha look towards Sev helplessly. She turned towards the Alpha herself to see how he would react. She wanted to see what he would do in the situation. To see if he was willing to defend her.

She noticed his Adam's apple bob as he sucked in a deep breath. "You heard your Luna from

this day you are banished and let the rest of you also take it as a warning. Your Luna is just as powerful as I am and she is to be respected accordingly. We will take no disrespect from any of the pack members. And so with that Sasha Sage, you have been banished  from the pack, and therefore from now on you are considered a rogue." His voice boomed as it echoed through the field.

She watched as Sasha let out a loud scream from her lips. The guards grabbed a hold of her as they pulled her to her feet but she kept her gaze trained on her.

"You can't do this. I love you Paoha you can't see it but she has bewitched you and you can't allow yourself to fall for her delusions. You have to open your eyes``. She cried out.

But he remained still not saying anything as the lot of them watched her disappear from view.

"Well with that out of the way. We should know that the festivities will start in three days. It will start with the walk of honor. Where the two mates will be set off into the forest and blindfolded. The Alpha will have to find his Luna to show that no matter how far they drift they will be able to find their way back to each other." Fay said to them.

She felt nervous slightly as she sucked in a deep breath.

She nodded her head at the thought as she tried to convince herself that she could still do this. "Meanwhile the Alpha and Luna will spend the next few days in their chambers getting to know each other. To help strengthen the bond between one another." He said and she felt her body shiver at his words.

That wasn't what she had expected. She sucked in a deep breath as she found herself wanting to refute his statement but as she looked towards the crowd. She noticed a familiar look on their faces as though they were looking down on her. It was then that she realized that they didn't think that she could do it and it was up to her to be able to prove them wrong.

"And once that is over we have the second challenge which is for the Alpha. This challenge is for the Alpha to be able to show his Luna that he is worthy of her love as well as her heart. That he can protect her. In this trial, he will be made to go up against the strongest wolves in the pack. They will be put against him and only then will he be considered worried if he is to win". Fay announced. She didn't want to admit it but she couldn't help but feel a  slight sense of worry come over her. She didn't know what to say but in truth, this wasn't what she had expected.

What if he wasn't able to make it?  Surely she knew that he was strong but was she certain that he was that strong?

"And for the last challenge. The two of them will journey past the pack to the mountains and offer the moon a gift. If they are considered worthy the goddess will accept them. If not then… I guess that has never happened before." He said.

She widened her eyes at his words. There was no way that she would be considered worthy. Their whole union in itself was a sham. They were doing a marriage that was purely built on lies.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when she felt a hand reach out and squeeze her own lightly it was as though he knew that she was worried.

She was surprised by his action though. "And with that, you may begin to prepare for the events to come. This is the first time that you will be witnessing a wedding and you should know that

It is  like none that you have seen before." He announced.

They stood there frozen as they watched the people disperse.  Fay turned towards them with a  playful look on his face. "Well, the two of you are welcome and you should be thanking me for making everything that much easier for you". He said and she couldn't help but grin.

"Well, we wouldn't have to have even been in this mess if you hadn't forced the wedding on us in the first place so in essence this is your fault," Sev said to him And he couldn't help but grin at him in response.

"Well, I guess that we could say that in essence, everything does happen for a reason. You should be happy that I was able to match you with the most perfect mate for you." He said to him.

He looked toward her and she couldn't help but notice something flicker in his eyes. She didn't know what it was but he only smirked.

"Well, I will leave the two of you to it. You may want to rest because you are going to have quite a lot on your  plate." He said to them.

She wasn't entirely sure what that meant and she felt her throat dry up as she nodded her head at him before watching him leave.

This wasn't what she asked for. She wasn't sure she could do this. "What have I gotten myself into?" She whispered shakily.

He chuckled from beside her. "You have no idea. Let's just say that you haven't seen anything yet".
