Chapter 24 - Hell's power

Aoi addressed Lumos with a sense of urgency, "Sir Lumos, what's the plan?"

Iris chimed in, her tone indicating the need for haste, "We need to move quickly, she doesn't seem like the patient type."

Hell, with a malevolent grin, muttered, "Blood magic," and as if on cue, crimson stains began to creep across the floor. From the pooled blood, grotesque fiends materialized, launching an unexpected attack on the group.

Aoi remarked in dismay, "Well, this doesn't look promising." Before she could react, one of the blood creatures struck her, sending her careening into a nearby wall.

Lumos, assessing the situation, grimly observed, "They're quite formidable."

Iris, her resolve unwavering, proposed, "If there are so many of them, perhaps we need reinforcements. Mirror magic, mirror mirage!" Multiple Iris clones materialized, ready to confront the bloodthirsty monsters.

However, even the mirror clones struggled against the relentless assault of the blood monsters. Lumos realized, "No good, they're overpowering us."

Lumos reluctantly decided, "It seems I must use it again. Radiance magic, mana domain, Arctic Aurora!" As the words left his lips, a brilliant display of magic enveloped him.

Hell, seemingly unfazed, taunted, "As if I wasn't expecting that."

The fiends redirected their focus towards Lumos, but he countered with determination, "Radiance magic, divine light!" Beams of radiant energy descended from the heavens, obliterating the blood monsters in a single decisive strike.

Hell, undeterred, launched another attack, sneering, "Blood magic, piercing blood!" The attack homed in on Lumos, who narrowly evaded, although it grazed his hair. Lumos pondered silently, recognizing Hell's proficiency, "She's not just any criminal; she knows what she's doing. I'll have to end this swiftly."

Hell jeered, "Oh, you're still alive."

Iris retorted, "All three of us are S-class knights, and yet Aoi and I are struggling to hold him back."

Lumos ruminated, "It appears I can't win this through brute force alone. If I want to succeed, I need to get in close."

Hell aimed another piercing blood attack at Lumos, who managed to dodge it, narrowly avoiding a direct hit. Lumos mused to himself, "Now that I understand its capabilities, I can anticipate its moves."

Hell questioned, "Don't be so sure," as the piercing blood unexpectedly altered its trajectory, striking Lumos on his right leg.

Lumos acknowledged, "You're a talented mage, Hell. Your incredible magic control is impressive. If you were able to activate your mana domain within mine or employ your spirit form, it wouldn't surprise me."

Hell retorted, "What's your point? Are you trying to distract me?"

Lumos continued, "If you possess such skill, why didn't you join the knights? Or let me guess, something happened that made you despise us and align with Zecres, right?"

Hell conceded, "If it's that obvious, why bother asking?"

Lumos prepared for the next attack and challenged, "Blood magic, piercing blood." This time, as the blood dispersed, he questioned Hell, "What will you do now?"
