Chapter 25 - Blood Magic: Piercing Blood

Lumos, having heard your true feelings, I'm ready to give it my all," he declared. With resolve, he invoked, "Radiance magic, prismic shield!" A radiant orb enveloped him, repelling the piercing blood attacks effortlessly. "Please," Lumos implored, "tell me where we went wrong."

Hell retorted sharply, "You knights have some nerve, destroying my village, and now you ask why I'm like this?"

Lumos questioned, "What?"

Hell snapped, "I'm done holding back and talking to knights who trample on people's lives and then question their own actions." She then chanted, "Blood magic, spirit form, spirit of Cronus."

Iris couldn't help but comment, "I can also use my spirit form, but hers is filled with incredible malice and magic. How does she possess such power without noble birth?"

Hell continued her taunts, "Are you sure you won't run away, noble knight, when the tide turns against you?"

Lumos responded resolutely, "Just because some knights destroyed your town doesn't mean we're all the same. I'd rather die than abandon my friends and subordinates."

Hell unleashed her relentless assault, employing "Blood magic, piercing blood scatter." The attacks converged on Lumos from all directions, causing his prismic shield to weaken. Lumos thought to himself, "I'm running out of options."

Lumos, undeterred, invoked, "Radiance magic, spirit form, spirit of Eos!" and summoned his holy relic, Enma, transforming it into a sword. Iris marveled at his possession of a second holy relic.

Hell countered with determination, "Fine then, blood magic devilish claws!" She followed up with "Blood magic, crimson domain," causing the dungeon floor to be drenched in blood. From the floor emerged numerous claws, menacingly targeting Iris and Aoi. However, Lumos remained unscathed thanks to his resilient prismic shield. Hell then took the battle to the skies.

Lumos accepted the challenge, stating, "If it's an aerial battle you want, then so be it." They engaged in combat while soaring through the air. Hell unleashed "Blood magic pierce," but Lumos adeptly dodged it and countered with "Radiance magic, light burst." Their attacks clashed, and both combatants narrowly evaded the destructive forces.

Lumos contemplated, "The wound on my right leg is holding me back." Iris also noticed Lumos struggling and thought, "That wound on his right leg is affecting his balance."

Aoi suggested, "Ma'am, I have a plan."

Iris asked, "Any plan besides surviving these claws?"

Aoi remarked, "I have a hunch that Sir Lumos is attempting to get up close to her for a specific reason."

Iris inquired, "And what might that be?"

Aoi replied with determination, "Ma'am, if you can hold off these claws for just a moment, I can execute my blade magic precisely in front of Hell. This will obstruct her path and create an opportunity for Sir Lumos to take action."

Iris swiftly grasped the plan. "Understood," she affirmed. "Are you ready?"

Aoi nodded firmly. "Yes," she confirmed, launching her "Blade magic combo barrage." Her strikes landed right in front of Hell, effectively blocking her flight path. This maneuver provided Lumos with an opening to close the distance between them.

Recognizing the opportunity, Hell displayed a sinister smile and wielded her sword to attack Lumos. Lumos responded with agility, using his holy relic sword to both block and counter her strikes. He pondered, "If I could only focus for a single second, I could bring this to an end."

Aoi, eager to assist, activated her "Blade magic silver wings" and moved to aid Lumos. However, Lumos, in his intense concentration, shouted, "Stay back, idiot! Don't come any closer!" His outburst disrupted his focus on Hell, allowing her the chance to utter, "Blood magic, piercing blood at point-blank range."

Lumos silently cursed his lapse in concentration, realizing the dire predicament he was now in.
