Chapter 29 - Too Weak

As Astrea and Klaus continued their relentless battle against Baron, doubt crept into their minds. Astrea whispered, "Even with Roy's stars, we're no match for this guy." He winced as he looked at the spreading curse on his skin, the result of Baron's cursed orbs. Klaus, equally concerned, added, "And those orbs touched my skin too. This doesn't look good."

Baron, with a malicious grin, announced, "Curse magic, Hatred Lance!" Instantly, a lance materialized and charged straight towards Astrea and Klaus. Struggling to absorb the impact of this magical attack, Klaus ultimately failed, and the lance pierced his torso. Astrea cried out, "Klaus, no!"

Meanwhile, Astrea faced Baron. He exclaimed, "Spin Magic Vortex!" Astonishingly, Baron took damage from the vortex, further enraging him. Baron retaliated, shouting, "Curse magic, Cursed Existence!" He blasted a powerful beam of magic directly towards Astrea and Klaus, rendering them both unconscious.

As the battle reached a critical point, Roy realized he had no other option. He swiftly teleported behind Baron and cut him. Baron began to bleed heavily as Roy said, "Well, now I have no choice." He coated his partizans with Baron's blood, revealing, "Guardian, your black magic can trap light and distort space, right? Take this!" Roy attacked the guardian with one of his partizans.

The guardian countered with, "Black magic, Dark Wall!" This time, Roy's attack passed through the guardian's defenses and inflicted damage. The guardian questioned, "How did you...?"

Roy confidently responded, "Because my partizans are covered with something that's not light-based magic."

Meanwhile, while Astrea and Klaus were unconscious, they both found themselves in a shared dream. There, they saw Eldrie, their father. Tearfully, they exclaimed, "Father, we lost..."

Eldrie comforted them, "Don't be disheartened. I believe in you two, and I'll always love you. But it's not yet your time to join me. Live your lives, have adventures, make friends, learn, and grow. I'm always proud of you." As Eldrie vanished, Astrea asked Klaus, "Now what?"

Klaus pondered, "I don't know." The distance between them grew until they couldn't even see each other. Klaus then noticed a small bird nearby, and it began to speak, "Klaus, you have great ambition, yet something holds you back. You carry a secret in your heart, one your brother doesn't know, and it's for his sake."

Klaus inquired, "What's your point, bird?"

The bird introduced itself, "I am the Divine Bird Medow. Despite being knocked down, you want to rise. Why?"

Klaus replied resolutely, "I want to defeat that guy, no matter what. If I stop now, all my goals and ambitions would mean nothing." Medow then disappeared, and a bird-like design started to appear on Klaus's right arm.

Meanwhile, for Astrea, he found himself surrounded by mysterious figures. He asked, "Who are you people?"

One of them cryptically replied, "That's for us to know and you to learn." Another voice chimed in, "You're unconscious right now, Astrea, and even if you get up, your chances of winning are slim because you're so weak."

Astrea refused to give in, declaring, "Even so, I can't give up. If I do, all my hopes, dreams, and the people who placed their trust in me would be in vain. Eldrie sacrificed his life to make us knights and protect the people. I can't back down now; I must face him in the afterlife."

The people encouraged him, stating, "Correct answer. This is what we were hoping to hear." One of them added, "Even though you may not have a chance to win, with this, you can." They revealed a sword that carried their collective will, a sword called Ascalon.

As Astrea and Klaus began to wake up, a radiant sword began to materialize from light, ready to aid them in their continued battle.
