Chapter 40 - Chapter 40

Alex POV:

As I prepared to embark on a new venture with Mr. Chen, I decided to inspect the land designated for our construction project and meet with the real estate agent. I dialed Mrs. Qilin's number, my voice calm and collected. "Please ensure my attire is ready; I'll be departing this evening."

With the call concluded, I left the company and headed to Rugard's former enterprise, now rebranded as Grande's Group Two under my ownership. Upon arrival, the staff greeted me with a mixture of familiarity and apprehension. I ascended to the top floor, my thumb gliding over the door's biometric scanner, granting me access to the office.

The secretary entered, presenting me with statistical documents. I scanned the pages, my eyes narrowing as I absorbed the information. "Sir, our beverages products are experiencing low demand due to consumer preference for our competitor's offerings. Additionally, our products lack essential nutrients," she explained.

I nodded thoughtfully. "We will convene a meeting on March nine to address these concerns and ensure our products meet consumer expectations. Notify all relevant team managers."

With the secretary dismissed, I remained, poring over documents outlining the company's plans and strategies. Every enterprise has its approach; mine would be no exception. I scrutinized the plans, seeking areas for improvement. Satisfied, I returned the documents to their place and departed the office.

As I settled into the Lamborghini, I instructed the driver to take me home. The vehicle glided smoothly through the streets, depositing me at my residence. I stepped out, the evening air enveloping me, and entered the house, my mind already focused on the tasks ahead.

I paid a visit to the young boy, Jack, accompanied by his home teacher. As I entered, she promptly concluded their lesson and departed, leaving us alone. I hadn't yet had the opportunity to review the details Mr. Martin had provided about Jack, but I made a mental note to do so when time allowed.

"Has she been too demanding, Jack?" I inquired, taking a seat beside him.

"Not at all," he replied, his voice laced with a hint of curiosity.

"Tomorrow, you'll begin martial arts training," I announced, my tone calm and measured. "This skill will serve you well in the future, so prepare yourself."

"Okay...What should I call you?" Jack asked, his eyes searching for a connection.

"Big bro," I said with a gentle tap on his shoulder.

"Okay, big bro," he echoed, a smile spreading across his face. "I have a question."

"I'm all ears," I replied, my gaze locked on his.

"If I learn martial arts, will I still need bodyguards?" Jack inquired, his brow furrowed in concern.

"Yes, you will," I explained, my voice firm but gentle. "You require full protection due to your unique circumstances. As you grow older, you'll understand why. You'll feel different from others, and you'll possess authorities to command. When the time is right, I'll reveal the true reason for your bodyguards, but for now, let's just say it's necessary."

"I'll wait for that day, big bro," Jack said, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.

We conversed for a while longer, forging a bond that felt almost paternal. I discovered we shared similarities, and it was exhilarating to find a younger version of myself in Jack.

"Alex and Jack, please come out for lunch," Mrs. Qilin called, interrupting our conversation.

"We're on our way," I replied, rising from my seat.

After lunch, I returned to the office, focusing on the Spices production department. I scrutinized every aspect, ensuring seamless operations. The statistics revealed a surge in demand for our spices, prompting me to increase production.

"It seems we need to expand our output," I noted, my mind already strategizing the next steps.
